★★★★★ I was surprised when I first walked into this store because it's was totally different from the one I've been too. I have always expected it to be like a small shop around the corner with narrow alleys and unsorted goods. However, South Shore India is totally different!
First, it's like a mini mart. Very organized and clean and not bright. There are sections for frozen food (like paratha), fresh vegetables (onions, cucumber...), halal meat, spices (Shan, National).
Second, it also sells cooked food for takeout! And the price is cheap. You can get Chicken TIkka Masala with rice for only $7.99. That is a good deal especially in the Boston Metro Area. And the food is reasonably good or at least up to my expectations and I will definitely come often whenever I craved for Indian cuisine.
Overall, I think this is a very nice place to get takeout food (no seating area) while also do some groceries shopping. Posted on August 23, 2015 |

★★★☆☆ This review is for the takeout only. It's a small space at the back of the grocery store and they do have quite a lot of items for a grocery store takeout place. Food is not that great though, but some dishes are good. Most dishes are a little bit oily though and not as flavorful as they should be. Sometimes too many spices, sometimes overcooked, it is average at best. That said, for those who do not cook or don't have time to, it is an okay option. Posted on November 12, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ I only like their "dahi bara". Everything else is either too salty or too much spices (not as in spicy, but over-using spices to the point that the food is bitter). Their tandoori is okay, but very expensive. Give it a try, you may like it. It's takeout only, at the back of the grocery store. Posted on September 5, 2012 |

★★★★☆ This is one of my favorite places. Best times to shop here are on Thursdays as they get fresh stuff.
But their items are limited and many times I find their shelves half empty. Posted on June 20, 2011 |
