Indus Village was reported closed or not Halal 2 months ago Located next door to Indus Market, this restaurant is operated by the same owner. Indus Village represents a traditional Pakistani environment, and the moment you walk in you will see the tables and chairs, all dowels and knobs painted in a riot of glossy colors, were handmade in Pakistan vivid murals of Pakistani life run along both long walls. And the food bursts with flavor. The curries are complex, but the spices are layered in skillfully so you can taste the cardamom and turmeric, the ginger and peppers. The flavors harmonize but we don't dissolve into the usual blur. A bite is like hearing a chord and all its notes at once. Open Daily 11:30am-10pm Added on June 3, 2006 and last updated 11 years ago

★★★☆☆ Salam..we had our dinner here tonight. We had Chicken Briyani, Fish & chicken tandoori. It's taste good but the briyani portion for one is more like two. The price is reasonable too. The cook is a Punjabi. the meat are all Halal from our enquiry & the sign at the door. Next door to the restaurant is Indus mini-market selling wide selection of groceries & halal produce including meat. We will definately recommend this to other Muslims. Posted on October 24, 2014 |

★★★★☆ I wasn't expecting much from the restaurant, as i though it will a typical run of the mill Desi one. I was surprised with thier food. I ordered the lunch combo of Chicken Tikka, Daal, rice and Naan. The tikka was really well made and the daal was very delicious. The naan was also very fresh and good. the decor was also nice for a desi restaurant. Will probably go there again. Posted on May 7, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Get excellent points for honoring my custom order. Even though goat biryani was not on the menu the day I called for my take out order they prepared it for me regardless. Biryani was good but definitely on the spicy side. I tried nihari and it was decent. Good restaurant overall. Posted on July 31, 2012 |

★★★★★ Cool place. Food is good. It is located next to Halal meat store. I had Biryani, it was good, but next time I will ask them to make it more spicy. Posted on July 31, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Husband and I went to Indus Village as we were unfamiliar with area and we really hungry. Realized that halal meat market is same owner...alhamdulilah no guess at the meat(?). i had vegetable curry and hubby had chicken. The spices were layed and the taste of Pakistani curry the way we like it was delicious. Much be good food as there was crowd of non-muslims. But this is the bay area and one thing about growing in the bay is that if you see people grubbing anf not saying a word, must be something to it... Posted on June 18, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ AoA,
Went here with a non-Muslim friend. Service was friendly and I agree one of the best meat markets in the Bay Area, so the food was a let down.
I love spicy food, but the Biryani was so spicy it was inedible, and what is up with the whole egg just sitting on top? I am Pakistani and usually we cut up the egg. There is something to be said about good tasting food, but also good looking food, and this food is neither here nor there. Also the chaval/rice were a bit hard.
My friend wanted to order CTM and Palaak Paneer, the CTM was good, but again the Palak was way too spicy. The garlic naans though were amazing and we wished we had ordered more of them and less of the actual food :( Posted on January 15, 2012 |

★★★★★ I was at a party that catered recently from Indus...their Chicken Tikka Masala is absolutely amazing mashAllah!
It was comparable (and I thought was better) than Shalimar's famous CTM. Posted on July 6, 2009 |

★★★★☆ ORDER- Appetizer seekh kabob
Results- More than happy. Large portion, seems like a meal. It was not over seasoned, and not too spicy
ORDER- Chicken Tikka Masala
Results- Very good, I highly recommend
ORDER- Naan
Results- Extra large pieces. 2 pieces are more than enough for those with a big appetite and a curry dish when you don't get rice. Soft
Decor- They went all out to make it an authentic experience
Ambiance- Music is way too loud, and very much a distraction. You have to yell in order to hear yourself. It is hindi-paki style music. If you don't like it, you should ask them to turn it down or off...
Overall- Great food, perfect for a large group Posted on March 1, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ Had the chicken tikka and seekh kabab. Average at best. I prefer the Indo-Pak restaurants in Fremont. Posted on January 16, 2009 |

★★★★★ This is me and my wife FAVORITE place to eat...so much so that they memorize our order..lol but if you're lookin for great halal food at a cheap price than Indus Village is for you. An average meal for 2 people would be typically under $ 25 Posted on July 27, 2008 |

★★★★☆ The chicken tikka, chicken boti, and aloo saag are delicious. We have tried the seekh kababs and a couple of different handis and everything has been average. Stick to the tandoori chicken dishes and you'll be good. If you call in a to go order 20 minutes to them means 30 minutes to you. Posted on August 6, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ I had high expectations of this joint since it's connected to the best meat market in the Bay Area, but what a letdown! The chicken tikka masala tasted like BBQ sauce with an extra dose of Liquid Smoke. My wife's biryani was simply a plate of basmati rice with some lamb thrown on top. And then there's the naan incident...I ordered 2 pieces for my wife and me, but the cashier would only sell me one because she said that I already get a piece with my meal. I made it clear that I wanted this third piece, and SHE REFUSED. I mentioned it later, when paying for me meal, and she told me "Two is enough." Fine then. One visit and one lousy review is also enough. Posted on June 3, 2006 |
