★★★★☆ Chicken Chaat Salad is worth the trip. Posted on September 25, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I e-mailed them through the corporate website, in which their response claims "Yes, all Chaat Cafes use halal meat. Posted on August 22, 2004 |

★★★★☆ I verified with the manager that ALL the Chaat Cafe restaurants serve 100% Halal Meat. I have eaten there on numerous occasions and have never had any cause for concern. It is unfair to the restaurants to remove them from the Halal list without confirming with their management. Perhaps a change in your process is due. Posted on August 6, 2004 |

★★★★★ Very good food here. I am a regular customer but became concerned by the rumaors that the meat is not halal. The manager said the meat for the SF, Fremont and Berkleye locations all come from from Indus meat and grocery store, which means it is definetly halal. I confirmed with Indus that they do provide the meat for this place. Posted on January 11, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ The man at the counter is Deepak, a hindu name. He says that they serve halal, but I have my doubts (since he was not very confident). Although the cooks look muslims, I can never be sure. Highly Avoidable. Always treat a place with suspect if the owner is non-muslim anf they serve wine. Posted on November 8, 2003 |

★★★☆☆ The food was good and service was quick. Something surprised me was they were also serving wine and bear. If they are halal food they are not suppose to serve wine. Posted on December 29, 2002 |

★★★☆☆ Excellent food, served fresh and hot. Most lunch items are under $5. Cool recipes try the tandoori wraps made with the best naan in the bay area. Lamb Chops on Saturday are great! All halal meat. Posted on October 12, 2000 |

★★★★☆ The man at the counter informed us that all of the food was halal, and that the cooks are Muslim. They were not particularly responsive to our requests (no rice, and some sort of sauce), and the food was extremely spicy! The place was spacious, new, and the menu had a good variety. Prices were a bit high. Posted on April 24, 2000 |

★★★☆☆ Formerly The Village Restaurant. Very little servings for the price charged. Good naans, though. Very spacious, and clean. They definitely need to be a little more generous in their servings. Posted on June 30, 1999 |
