East West Grill |

2721 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201
East West Grill was reported closed or not Halal 3 years ago Located in the heart of the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, in one of Northern Virginia's trendiest neighborhoods (a Whole Foods and Apple store are a block away), East West Grill helps keep this neighborhood real with Pakistani-style kabobs that cater to both late-night barhoppers as well as off-shift cabbies yearning for back-home comfort food. You'll get generous helpings of veggie side dishes along with your chapli kebabs, but it's the fresh naan that is a real standout here. Sure, you can take it home and eat in comfort, but fresh naan has a very short half-life, so you'll want to dig in right away. For those who live in the area, it's perfect for late night weekend munchies when other Halal restaurants in the area have long closed for the evening. Open Sunday-Thursday, 11 am to 11 pm, Friday-Saturday, 11 am-2 am. Added on September 4, 2002 and last updated 8 years ago

★★★★★ Good food. Very beautiful people. Posted on September 7, 2019 |

★☆☆☆☆ This place went from one of the best halal restaurant to one of the worst. The pakistani foods, lamb chop and kabobs are taste very bad now. I'm not sure what happen. My kids said the burgers taste good though. But if you want a good halal burger, you can find it in a lot of other places around DC now. Posted on July 29, 2019 |

★☆☆☆☆ I have been to this place 3-4 times. Never had good food but at least it was halal. Last time I ordered a sandwich and got sick. The sitting area is dirty and that speaks volumes. Posted on June 1, 2016 |

★★★★★ Great service and great food. The owner is super friendly (and returns your salams, which I greatly appreciate). I had the goat curry, it was tender and fresh. Their naan is great too. Definitely recommend. Posted on February 23, 2016 |

★★★★★ Place was shown to us by one of the Muslim brothers and it's was what we needed. Not a fancy place but the food is good and quite a big menu. Very highly recommended. Posted on December 24, 2015 |

★★★★☆ I've gone there while visiting relatives and I honestly love the food there! I swear I gained extra 5 pounds while eating there. It's greasy but good! Just the right type! Posted on May 29, 2013 |

★★★★☆ It's good depending on what you eat. Last week I ate Chapli kabab and it was really good. This week I ordered Gyro Sandwich which was not good since I have eaten good gyros in past. This is a Desi restaurant, their speciality is desi food. So I assume that they won't be as good when they make middle-eastern food. I recommend ordering Pakistani/desi food here. ★★★★☆ I've actually only ever had the sandwiches here. Based on that alone, I think East West is great. Their Philly cheesesteak and their cheeseburger are bomb. The cheesesteak really is the best halal cheesesteak in the DMV. It's not greasy, not dry, not skimpy, and full of flavor. The fries are so good! I've tried the lamb burger and the grilled chicken sandwich, also very good. The prices are reasonable, it's like $7 for a sandwich with fries, and it's just enough to fill you up. The service is great, the uncles there are pretty friendly. I came here with my parents before and they had some of the kabobs and stuff and they seemed to like it. I just cant resist the cheesesteak whenever I'm there... Posted on August 23, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Best place to go if you're hungry and it's past midnight!
I don't like the Desi food, but the American food (cheeseburger, steak & cheese) is great and cheap. Everything's clean enough. Meals are large. And the atmosphere doesn't become bad after midnight (somehow the mischievous and drunk stay out). Area's somewhat not as nice after midnight though. Posted on July 18, 2011 |

★★★★☆ The place is in an area like DC ( don't expect to find a parking easily). Having said that their chicken burger and beef burger were exceptional considering its a desi store (lol). The guy at the counter was very friendly. The only problem was that it seemed like they were saving money on electricity and it was hot inside. I would take my food home and eat it. ★★★☆☆ The burgers and other American style items are good (not great), but I'd pass on the kabobs and Pakistani style items. Reasonable prices make East West a solid choice for ordering takeout or having lunch while in the Clarendon area. Posted on March 15, 2011 |
|
|
★★★★☆ Cheeseburger and fries are awesome. Didn,t care much for the kabob or chickpeas, but burgers are worth the trip! Posted on January 25, 2011 |
|
|
★★★★☆ The west food (burgers/sandwiches) is actually pretty good (although a little too salty). The prices seem to have gone up recently as well. I believe the restaurant is open until 2am on most days. Posted on January 9, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ Very good food, reshmi kebab and chicken tikka tasted great. Tea was bad though. Prices are moderate. Posted on January 3, 2011 |

★★★★☆ This is a good place to eat, they have a variety of dishes, both eastern and western (get it). Everything I've had is of good quality, and the people working there are nice. Posted on August 1, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ People hype up this place so much but they're decent at best. The cheeseburger is the best thing to get, everything else is fairly average at best. Posted on February 15, 2010 |

★★★★★ Great food at a great price; I have been eating here for the last few years and East West Grill has maintained their food quality.
Things I recommend: Seekh and Resham Kabobs, Haleem and Nihari. Everything else is great too. Posted on December 6, 2009 |

★★★★★ I haven't really tried the desi food here but have heard it's pretty good from friends and family who have. The western food is really good including the cheeseburgers and cheesesteaks and their fries and chili sauce are amazing! Posted on August 25, 2009 |
|

★★★★☆ Went here for lunch today........The place is very clean, spacious, has ample seating and a nice setting. The food is great and not too pricey. I had the cheeseburger and fries and it was delicious. The service was great and I look forward in coming back here again !!! Posted on July 27, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ I have tried both the pakistani food and american food and, although I was not impressed, I found that the service made up for the difference. The food is decent, but the service, especially during ramadhan, is wonderful. Posted on September 23, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ Their hamburgers and Pakistani food are alright and the seating area is ok. Posted on August 31, 2008 |

★★★★☆ The food is excellent. I tried both the desi and american food. it was awesome. Location is a good one and it has a free parking as well.
The guys are from Islamabad and Rawalpindi and very amicable I must say. Posted on July 8, 2008 |

|
★★★★☆ the western style food is very good, like burgers and steak and cheese, but the other kabobs are not in the level of good. Posted on December 1, 2007 |
|
|
★★★★☆ the western food is great, but the kabob stuff is allright. western food price is reasonable. customer service is fine too. Posted on September 23, 2007 |

★★★★★ Steak and cheese sandwich is really really good! Also try their rasmalai, the best US has to offer! Biggest turn off is the location! Posted on July 6, 2007 |

★★★★★ Great tasting food, burgers are the best I've ever had. Gyro had more meat than any other gyro I've ever had. Place was very clean. Posted on May 16, 2007 |

★★★★☆ East West is a good place. They get it! Generally, when desis try to serve up American fare, they always (inadvertently, I'm sure) add a desi twist to everything. For example, some american wannabe desi restaurants will add chili powder or chaat masala to french fries and serve it with mango pickle achar as a dipping sauce. However, at East/West they serve American food as American and desi as desi. The cheeseburger was okay, but everything else was superb! The steak and cheese sub is real good, as are the chicken strips with Honey Mustard sauce (NOT Chutney). On the desi side of the menu, the beef nehari was fantastic and the naan and daal were very good as well. East West is above average and I highly recommend this place. Posted on May 15, 2007 |

★★★☆☆ Food is good. My friends are crazy about the burgers but me not so much (its one of the rare halal burger places so it tests ones emotions). DoubleA's was way better (sniff...I miss you guys). Posted on April 18, 2007 |

|
★★★☆☆ food was ok.this place seems like much for the job-going people during lunch time they can enjoy alone, not very well organized for families.Good luck! Posted on March 16, 2007 |

|
★★★★☆ I like the western food more than the eastern food at this place. Their cheesburger is excellent and their steak and cheese is very good. Their fries were also very good. Their lamb kabob was okay (meaning not good, but not bad). The dining area was ok and the service was ok. Overall, thumbs up for this place. Posted on November 1, 2006 |

★★★★☆ The food is perfect however the dining tables and decoration cab be improved. Allah bless you. Posted on May 29, 2005 |

★★★★☆ I love the owner, their prices, the taste, the size of helpings. The restroom could be cleaner, and I DON'T like how I get tummy upsets afterwards. Posted on March 2, 2005 |

★★★★★ I love East West! My friends and I crave the food and go there so often it's become like our own private dining room. The owner is a sweetheart mashaAllah and let's us stay as long as we like. Posted on December 14, 2004 |

★★★★★ Wow. This place definitely have the best food at the best price. I tried the Philly steak, the grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken curry and they were all delicious. Even the fries are better than any American restaurant. They make the best desi food and the best American food. Such places are hard to find. And the prices are unbelievable. $6 for a huge entree of chicken curry; $5 for philly steak sandwich... Posted on December 11, 2004 |

|
★★★★☆ The food is great, restaurant is clean, and there is life broadcast of the Taraweeh prayer from Masjidil Haraam during Ramadhan 2004. Posted on October 18, 2004 |

★★★★★ Try the steak & cheese and the hamburgers, but avoid the wings. Their steak & cheese is even recommended by my friends who don't eat zabihah. Posted on July 25, 2004 |
