★★☆☆☆ As anyone who lives in the area would be, my family and I were so excited to hear of a new burger spot opening near us. Our first visit was with family friends; there were a total of 6 of us. The decor is modern, so we thought the service and food would be just as up to date. We were disappointed. The burgers were large, but bland. The fries were some of the worst we have had, and pretty expensive, too. And the service was slow and staggered. This place is not able to handle a steady stream of customers, as we have witnessed on subsequent visits. Since our first visit was during the restaurant's first week in business, we have given the place a few more tries. The food is not consistent, but still not that great. However, the service is consistent: consistently bad. I really hope the owners get their act together, because they could do really well if they improve. Posted on May 22, 2017 |

★★☆☆☆ I would hate to knock on a family run restaurant but after my last trip here, I am forced to warn potential visitors.
First of all I only eat halal zabihah so I was really excited to have one more option for halal fast food in OC. I live in RSM, so driving up to Brookhurst involves a lot of effort and time.
I have been to this place 5 times now and every visit the customer service standards get worse than before ... I don't know how they manage to outdo themselves and provide a worst experience than before.
My last visit was yesterday evening ... I got there with 3 other friends, first we were made to wait 5 minutes before ordering while the cashier or girl behind the counter was sweeping the floor behind us in the main area. There was only one family (3 people) who were there when we arrived.
After ordering, we waited for 45 minutes!! and a couple of reminders later the owner came from behind the counter while helping a lady with her large takeaway order shifted all blame on an employee who was late in the kitchen. (by the way she also waited 30 minutes for her order)
10 minutes later a boy brought us our food that consisted of 5, instead of 4 burgers, not what we ordered, missing 2 of the 4 sides, and with none of the drinks/shakes we ordered.
When I pointed that out to the owner he replied that it is actually someone else's order ... but not once did he apologize or said that he was sorry. He came to our table, took back one burger and asked me to eat what I had (I ordered loaded burger not spicy chicken sandwich)
When I refused to eat that after having waited 55 minutes ... he took both the extra burgers back and said he was going to make my order right. My friends could not wait any longer and started eating their food. About 5 minutes later, I got up and went to the counter again, and demanded the girl to give me whatever they had because I did not want to wait any longer.
The owner then came out and showed me that my order was on the monitor and had been there all that time... but had no explanation for the fact that why after having waited for over an hour it was still not ready??
I had to make separate trips to get all our drinks, one by one as they were still missing.
Coming back to the sandwiches ... The buns were cold and stale ... crumbling in our hands. The chicken was cold as well.
By now there were two more groups in this fast food joint all waiting/complaining for different reasons.
One more thing that I would like to mention is that receipt that you receive is not itemized, it just shows you a grand total. There is no way to prove what you ordered vs. what is on the screen vs. what is actually brought to you. Also please check the totals because 2 out of 5 times that I have been there, I was overcharged.
I tried to give these folks many chances ... even took coworkers there from work during lunch to give them some business but now I am sorry for all my efforts. I hope they can survive but with this kind of service and attitude, I don't see them surviving for too long. Posted on May 8, 2017 |
