The owners of this restaurant are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status. The owner, Abdul Basit, is a Muslim, and verbally confirmed that all meats are Halal.
★★★★★ Had an Espresso Longo and a Mocha, which were good. The owner is friendly, warm and talkative. Will write a review of their paninis when I go back.
On the weekend, call before you go since they are still experimenting with weekend hours.
Post lunch update:
PIADINI ALLA PASTRAMI (Similar to a shredded roast beef quesadilla) was good. Bread was fresh and nicely toasted. Lots of meat. Personally, I would rate it excellent if there were more veggies in it.
PIZZITINA CLASSICA (Personal mini-pizza) was also decent, but could have been bigger. The Balsamic glaze on it gave it a unique flavor. The fresh mozzarella and freshly picked Rosemary made it all the better. Note: This is way different from Americanized pizza your kids are growing up on.
Desserts:
TORTA CAPRESE (Chocolate Almond Cake) was very good. Served with whipped cream topped with a twig of fresh mint and garnished with toasted almonds and chocolate syrup.
TIRA MISU also very good. It was made differently from what I'm used to. There was more cake than Mascarpone (although they also have Tira Misu in a cup, which looked similar to what I've generally had before). Served with a garnishing of Chocolate Syrup, a strawberry and a small dollop of whipped cream topped with a twig of mint.
Both tasted even better with a cup of Americano... :)
Presentation was Instagram worthy. Dishes were heavy, white Porcelain/China with silverware.
Overall, this is a fancy upscale seemingly authentic Italian cafe that is Halal. Perfect for taking your wife out for lunch or breakfast. Definitely worth checking out if you're into Italian or consider yourself a 'foodie'. Posted on September 1, 2020
