★★★★☆ First time I've used Emirates. Went from LA to Dubai then on to Pakistan. All the food served is Halal and it states so in the magazine and on the menus. Food was good compared to other airlines I have been on. Couldn't compare the meat as normally I have vegi food., but this time was a change fo rth ebetter. On my way back I got an upgrade to business class and the food was really better. Wish I could always travel business on Emirates. Posted on September 21, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Food is decent when compared to other Airlines. I have used them three times for travel between USA and Pakistan/KSA. I always call in and ask for Asian vegetarian for the leg from US to Dubai as I was not able to authenticate that the local ( US ) catering is zabihah. It may be Halal ( Beef, Mutton, Chicken etc. & not Pork ) but I got no proof that it was slaughtered according to Islamic Shariah. The other legs of the trip I try their regular food. The service is very good on the connection to and from US where the crew will bend their collective backs backwards to please the passengers. The leg between Dubai/Medina, Dubai/Karach, Jeddah/Dubai, Karachi/Dubai is a totally different story. The attitude, service, conduct and the behavior of the crew takes a signifcant nosedive during these routes/connections. Overall the food is good, especially their lamb and fish varieties. Even the Hindu vegetarian meal, that I request from US, is quite decent and is not bland by any standards. Posted on July 26, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Its one of the best Airlines after MEA, but I suggest you remove the sign that claims "Alcohol Free", because Emirates Airlines is full with alcohol, I wish they hadn't done that. Posted on April 11, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Took Emirates from SFO to Lahore via Dubai. The food was pretty good. For breakfast they give you choice of omelet with chicken sausage, roll, fruit and drink. For lunch and dinner had CTM (was okay) or beef/chicken or fish meal. Comes with bread, dessert, drink and salad. They also provide good snacks during long flights (pizza slice, etc.). Service is pretty good as well. Only drawback is that they serve alcohol. Emirates entertainment system (ICE) is also top notch, especially for long flights! Posted on March 8, 2012 |

★★★★★ Emirates is really a 5-star airline. Even in economy, the food far surpasses that of any other airline I have ever traveled on.
Delicious food is part and parcel of their brand. And there's plenty of it. Yes, you are paying $$$$ for the flight, but no other airline compares.
Wish they did not serve ALCOHOL. Posted on May 18, 2011 |

★★★★★ Amazing airline! The service is fantastic! The food is also very good, bigger portions/selections than other airlines and they keep serving different snacks through out the flight. One of the best airline I've travelled on. Posted on November 30, 2010 |

★★★★★ Great food from LAX to DXB...one of the major reasons for travelling in Emirates is their food..Great service as well. Posted on November 15, 2010 |

★★★★★ Flew business class last summer. The food was excellent. All meats are Zabihah on their flights. Too bad they serve alcoholic beverages. Posted on January 21, 2010 |

NR I have never had the pleasure of the travelling of Emirates. However, my cousin works for the catering supplier for Emirates in Birmingham. He swears the meat products are NOT halal. Chicken is supplied by a large company which doesn't provide any certification or indication that the products are halal, unlike kosher which is clearly marked, packed seperatly and comes with additional paperwork.
When queried with management, they seem to believe the knives are "halal", so the food is halal.
Yes Emirates do audit the caterer, however the auditors are non-muslim, and spend a morning in the office going through paperwork.
I most certainly wouldn't eat any of the food provided by Emirates out of Birmingham. Posted on October 30, 2009 |

★★★★★ Excellent service. Flight crew is young, speedy, very accommodating and always had a smile on their faces. Crew helpful as many speak variety of different languages. Variety of gourmet-style food choices available in good sized portions. By far the best airline I have ever travelled with, anyone who flies with Emirates will be pampered with great service. ★★★★★ The best meal i have ever eat during flights. Their tray is bigger than others ;) If you are fastening they give a Ramadan Package to you which is really great! :)) Posted on September 22, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Very nice experience on long flights, no question!
Not very excited about short hour long flights in the gulf countries. The planes are old and service is just ok. Posted on August 30, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Emirates is certainly better than other airlines, but it all depends on where you sit. If your seat is towards the end of the airline then you're out of luck. The food gets to you really late and the flight attendants will not pay too much attention to you. Otherwise, the food is good & halal (from what they told me). If flying direct to Dubai from JFK, they'll feed you three courses plus snacks in the middle. Posted on August 16, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ The food is not that great and the service was poor if you compare the extra money you pay b/c Emirates cost more. I will go back to PIA after getting disappointed by Emirates. By the way what is the reason to offer halal if you also offer haram i.e Alcohol in the flight. This is same as taking bribe after say Bismillah. Posted on January 14, 2007 |

★★★★☆ excellent food and an air service, however please do check on poultry and meat sources when departing from non muslim countries. Business class has excellent choices in dishes. Posted on December 7, 2006 |

★★★★★ Sometimes when I haven`t travelled in a while I miss Emirates-food. Its excellent, perfect I must say. They have everything in that small tray: from appetizer to salads, meal, rice bread, deserts and ofcourse chocolate. They have choice of menus, so you can actually choose from a few choices what you feel like eating. Their food is well-cooked and tastes good like real-regular fppd, unlike many other airlines, where it seems like the food is something you never had when you were on earth, its diffrent in a tatse-less manner. But with emirates, it keeps you connected to the earth regarding the taste of their food, whice is real good restaurant quality food, biryani, bakes, potatoe patties, its wonderful. Sometimes I wish i could fly just for food. Posted on October 4, 2006 |

★★★★★ I can't even stand the smell of food on an airplane, but I must say when I had the stomach for it and we had a stop over in cyprus, they gave us little chicken sandwhiches which were awesome. It's nice to have good service, good food and not pay an arm and a leg for it. Posted on April 1, 2006 |

★★★★★ Emirates was by far the most breathtaking as far as meals and service I have come across from any airline carrier I have used. The food was, comparitively speaking, phenominal and there was a good selection on the menu of healthy and tasty exotic food. The service was impeccable as well, no wonder Emirates is rated the best airline for consecutive years. You literally, sit and relax in a wonderful atmosphere enjoying the scrumptious meal. Unlike other airlines where you are checking your watch to wonder when you are going to arrive at your destination the environment which Emirates created onboard, combined with the unbelievably comfortable seating arrangements, beyond hospitable service and asthetically pleasing decor makes your time on board fly by in a snap. Next time you fly overseas be sure to do yourself some justice and fly Emirates. Posted on March 21, 2004 |

★★★★★ Let me be honest. Out of all the airlines I have flown so far, Emirates tops them all. The food in the economy class is far better than that of first class of other airlines. Other airlines can only dream of providing the in-flight food and service that Emirates provides. Posted on February 23, 2004 |

★★★★★ I travelled on Emirates from London to Dubai and was surprised to see steaks served for dinner and on our way to Dubai, they kept bringing food including ice cream. I was shocked compare to what I got from San Francisco to London on United. Emirates has the best food, and its one of the reasons I fly Emirates atleat we know the food we are eating is halal.
