 | ★ I wouldn't know about the quality of the food, but I know the service leaves a lot to be desired. I went in for take out and stood under the sign that says "order here." There was no one in front of me at all but I stood there for a few minutes wondering why I wasn't being helped. I thought maybe they're busy, maybe they don't see me. However after waiting for a few minutes some Desi men came in and they were helped immediately. I was completely ignored. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not Desi or because I'm a woman who was alone. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere and I don't plan on ever coming back here. I would tell everyone to steer clear of this place and go somewhere that appreciates their customers. |

 | ★ I had very high hopes for this restaurant, but was very disappointed with both the service and the food.
We ordered Tandoori Chicken to take home for Iftar. Once we got it home, every single piece of chicken was raw inside. In fact, once we opened up the pieces there was quite a bit of blood still inside!
Upon calling the restaurant to alert them of this, their 'solution' was to tell us to stick the chicken in the microwave for a few minutes. I felt this was inadequate since I was sick just thinking about what I had just eaten. I don't think I will ever get food from here again. |

 | ★ Worst restaurant ever in terms of services,
There is a waitress working in this restaurant (a slim, tall Asian girl, I believe she is Chinese) who is extremely rude, absolutely impolite. I have been there couple of times and whenever she was my waitress, there was a problem. She denied taking the order which I used to order almost every time I went there. She has always been rude and careless. I wanted to talk to her manager and she claimed that she is the manager!!! And she owns this place!!!!. No mater how much I insisted, she denied letting me talk to the real manager. I had hear before from some of my friends that she is a trouble maker, I believed it today when I saw it for the third time with my own eyes. When she drove I and my girl friend crazy, she told us rudely that we can take the food for free but I paid for the whole food just to let the manager know how horrible his waitress is. The reason was not to avoid paying the check of course; it was because of her horrible attitude. I am eating out a lot and Mediterranean restaurants are my favorite. I found restaurants like Sultan, Aladdin and Sahara much better in terms of service, quality of the food and price much much better than this one. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone due to the lack of management and this specific horrible waitress. IF YOU LIKE TO EAT AT ALIBABA, FIND ANOTHER BRANCH NOT THE ONE IN EAST LANSING OR ORDER THE FOOD TO GO!!!!! |

 | ★★★ Nice name and posters, shame the food doesn't live up to the same standards. I ordered dal gosht (meat & lentil curry) with rotis (Pakistani flatbread). The meat was too dry and looked out of place in the curry. I only ate here once and it was close to closing time so maybe my review isn't doing them much justice but they did have a chance and they didn't do a very good job of it on this occasion.
There are 2 menus available with Pakistani/indian/Arabic and some Thai food available too. |

 | ★★★★★ Just went there for the first time last night and ordered several dishes. The food was fantastic. Having traveled in Southeast Asia considerably I would easily place this among some of the best Thai food I ever had. And the staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. This place deserves its great reputation. |

 | ★★ Based on these high ratings, I went there with my family and this is what we discovered:
1- Chicken wings was not edible, it was just chicken fat & bone deep fried. We threw all of it away.
2- The other chicken items were extremely SALTY. It was like we were eating salt balls.
3- The place is carry out only. There are no seating places.
4- The neighborhood is a little weird, although this location is open late until 11pm, do not go there with wife & kids. |

 | ★★★★★ I went to Lung Kong Road after reading the reviews for the other restaurant, islam food but as there was a queue out the door, I settled for the Beijing (halal) Beef restaurant instead which was only 20 meters down the same road. This restaurant was also packed with locals. I ordered veal goulash dim sums and a double fried beef and green pepper dish along with rice. The food was excellent and so far the best I've had in Hong Kong. I would definitely go back to this place as I can't stand the sub-standard food around TST. |

 | ★★ FOOD: 2/5 [It tasted good at first, and it looked like a lot too. But it was mostly bones and fat. Very little meat. and the meat that was left was either burnt or to oily. Very unhealthy].
SERVICE: 3/5 [Nothing special, but not bad. I had to call my waiter over a few times to get refills of drinks].
DECOR & CLEANLINESS: 2/5 [ Decor was okay. Nothing special, but fine. The curtains and the bathrooms were dirty].
COST: 4/5 [Inexpensive. Around $10 a meal. But like I said for the food section, it look like more then it actually was]. |

 | NR Visited restaurant due to such hi reviews! I must say that I think the previous reviews are a fraud as when I was there four various customers made complaints. The restaurant seems to be run by 16 year olds not a adult in sight , waiting time( not busy) was approx 1 hour, food was awful dry old and tasteless not to mention quite raw not worth plate it is served on! Many customers walked out as 16 year olds could not deal with customer service. On a good note if you want. To burn money on a grill the decoration is nice. Will not go again!! |

 | ★★★★★ This place is awesome. I go here all the time. They have amazing burgers and great wraps too. Their fish is also pretty good. They also have halwa puri on the weekend which tastes amazing. In regards to what mohsenpatel said, I am guessing you had the hamburger. The reason the bun is huge is because they have this other burger called a homeburger which is like twice the size and tastes amazing. Also, the chicken chunks is a dish called munchie chucks, which taste amazing, and it sucks for you that you never got to try them. I definitely recommend this place to other people. |

 | ★★★★★ My husband and I moved to San Diego 3 weeks ago and were looking for a place close by to eat. We're both Persian and Darband was within walking distance. The food was great, the portions amazing--during ramadan around iftar time, they have a great soup, and a substantial starter that is offered to those that were fasting at no extra cost. The owner is incredibly nice and while the atmosphere is not upscale, it kind of has a nostalgic Iranian kabobi feel to it that we love! The owner also recently informed me that they are in the process of remodeling the area next door and hopefully will be improving the atmosphere as well. If the place wasn't halal, ramadan would not be important to the place, and after talking to the owner, I don't have any doubts about the fact that the food is zabiha. We have been here 3 times since we first visited and would definitely go back again! |

 | NR Food was probably 2/5. Not many dishes in the buffet and food tasted old. VERY BAD customer service, almost non-existent.
They also claimed they were the same franchise as in Chicago, which is a lie, because I know the owner of the Chicago Umania Restaurant.
If you want good food and great customer service... DO NOT GO HERE! |

 | ★★ So I went here last year during Ramadan. Anxiously awaiting my Keftah Kabab meal with Hummus. When I opened the package, there was no bread, I called the dark lady that works there and told her I was upset, her response, "I'll give you bread next time you come in." I was livid. Who says that to a customer. I vouched never to go there again...
Until this year, again, during Ramadan...I ordered the same Keftah Kabab dish with hummus, When I came home- she (the same rude lady) gave me Baba Ghanoush instead of hummus as I had asked.
I now vouch NEVER to go there again. That lady in the front is rude and always cheats her way out of something. The food is not all that. The Kabab shanks are wayyy to small.
I'd rather drive 20 miles to Houston and hit up Darband or Bijon rather than give them my business, being only 3 minutes away from my house.
Sorry, but that lady is rude and a cheat. And the food is D grade. |

 | ★ ASA Brothers and Sisters in Islam,
I recently went to this place and it was nice, it is clean no doubt, and great presentation, great location.
BUT The service is Poor... very rude, they don't smile or say thank you. If you want to tell them to improve the service they start arguing.
A/C don't work, Hot in the back area!!!
They should improve in their sevice and fix A/C.
I did ask if thier food was Halal especially their chicken, and they said yes! So always ask... Please Brothers and Sisters in Islam Watch B 4 U Eat. Know What you Eat! |

 | ★★★★ They have a good variety of pizzas and sandwiches. Their chicken they put on the pizzas is fairly dry (I've ordered it three times and it's always the same) but the pizza itself is quite good. They also serve decent wings, but the sauce is pretty thin. All in all, a good halal pizza place, would definitely recommend. |

 | ★★★★★ Amazingly fresh and delicious food! They don't even have any microwaves or freezers on the premises! This place actually cooks in olive oil which very few casual dining chains do because of it's higher cost. Most places use cheap Soybean/Vegetable or at best, refined Canola oil! The owner here even purchases the freshest produce from ...miles away despite cheaper produce right across the street because he doesn't believe in sacrificing quality. They even use filet mignon for the steak and still every pita is about 6 bucks!
I'm normally a carbiphobe but they make fresh pita bread from scratch right in front of you and even the wheat was amazing! It goes perfect with their delicious garlic sauce and Jalapeno hummus which is honestly the best i've ever had! And best of all, all of their meat is humanely raised, free of antibiotics, growth hormones and Halal! For those of you unfamiliar with the term, Halal means that the meat was raised in humane conditions, slaughtered in the least painful way and all of the blood drained from the meat prior to cooking per Islamic regulations. Draining the blood rids the meat and ultimately you of uric acid which is unhealthy for human consumption.
My new favorite place to eat! It looks and feels like a Mediterranean Chipotle! |
