★★★★  Loved the food! Put was a bit too expensive. Would go there again maybe when they have their lunch buffet for $9. Daal and chole were awesome!

★★★★★  This place does not disappoint!
Go in for the lunch buffet and it's the best! I've never had anything other than the lunch buffet, but it's cheap and VERY GOOD!

★★  FYI for Zabiha halal eaters.
Meat is not hand slaughtered zabiha, its machine cut. I have confirmed it from the source, so if you care about hand slaughterd zabiha halal, this is not the place.

We are from California and while on vacation we went to this restaurant. We reached there around 3:30 PM and I dropped my family at the restaurant and went off to park my rental car. It took me about 30 minutes to find a parking. When I got back it was barely 4 PM and we wanted to have the buffet. The person there did not let us have the buffet. Even though I told him that I and family were there at 3:30 and I had difficulty in finding parking, he would not give a damn. He was rude and did not let us have the buffet. As we were walking we could hear the chef instructing the guy there to open the buffet but this man would not. Very bad customer service. I wonder when our Pakistani brethren change the attitude and understand the concept of customer service. I would never go to this restaurant ever again and would like to warn other families to stay away from here. They don't care for the families and kids.

★★★★  This place is by no means fancy and that's okay with us because the food is pretty good. It is fairly small but full of students. We ordered the chicken makhani (not fresh and dumbed down and somewhat americanized) but still tasty. The lamb biryani was one of the best we ever had but very spicy. Their naan are okay soft on the outside but somewhat crispy in the middle. It is fairly reasonably priced, entrees run from 8-10 dollars for dinner.

★★★★  Good food & good price for buffet. We go every Friday after Juma prayers at GWU.

★★★  First the good news: cheap and open 'til wee hours.
The bad, huh, average food; dirty tables-chairs; attitude = 'take it or leave it'. Place is horribly small you can practically touch 'east-west' walls simultaneously.

Owners are typical pakis... This is taxi-drivers joint. Go at yr own risk.

★★★★  Went here for lunch today and loved it !! They have a great, all you can eat buffet for only $8.00. The Tandoori chicken was the best part, (most of the buffet items were really good too). The place is clean and the setting is decent. The joint is in a prime location so it is definitely worth checking out.

★★★  Mehran is adjacent to the building I work in, so you know I've tried the lunch buffet a few times. Although they seem to recycle items every few days, the taste/quality is ok. The best item in the buffet is the tandoori chicken. It's worth paying the $8.00 buffet price just for that. Whenever I get the buffet, I just get the chicken, salad and naan.

★★★  I was there with my family during the first of April 2009 for business.

The place is clean and staff is nice however the quality of food is so so, we order Chicken Booti, Biryani and Quorma none of them taste like Pakistani food, Naan was fresh baked and taste good

★★  Go there only if you are not from India/Pakistan and do not mind the food made bland for the American palate. The buffet is only on weekdays. Went there on Saturday and they had Nihari. The Nihari was sweet with lots of onions. The server wanted to serve rice with Nihari. The meat was like cardboard. The Nihari was served with two vegetables. When I order Nihari, I want only Nihari and not side order of vegetables. If you have not eaten at authentic Pakistani restaurant, you might like it. But if you have a discriminating taste, save your time and money and go elsewhere.

★★★★  Mehran is a casual pakistani restaurant located within the campus of George Washington University. Being casual, its suitable for a quick lunch and dinner versus a more formal and proper dining with family or customers. So my evaluation is mainly on food minus the atmosphere. I tried their lamb curry, vegetable and rice. The lamb curry is fantastic, very tasty and addictive. The rice is ok while the veggie is a typical indian/pakistani where it is overcook. Well, being around Indian and Pakistani restaurant a lot, I never expect anything much on their veggie, but I do pay lots of attention on their meat and gravy....wonderful! I will certainly return for another quick lunch or dinner.

★★★  Typical pakistani restaurant. The workers were friendly with great service. The food was a bit greasy and oily, but I tried their chicken tikka bon and it was pretty good. If you eat there, definitely go upstairs which is much more quieter. The area was safe, it's open late, and always busy.

★★★  food tastes great, i had a lunch buffet, and biriyani on a couple different occasions and the food tasted great, a little oilier than I am used to, but good nonetheless, but it is a random small pakistani restaurant, kinda reminds me of the small restaurants in on chicago's Devon st.

★★★★★  On our 8 day trip to DC, we had atleast half our meals there. Location was excellent and food was fantastic. You can go there anytime of the day and enjoy good food at very cheap rates.

★★★  This place was pretty good. The food was not amazing nor was it really cheap. A decent meal there will run you about 10 dollars. It is however close to the metro. The restaurant is worth a visit.

★★★  Around lunch time the place was empty. The lamb shawarma sandwich was ok maybe because the lamb is served cold. The mango lassi I had for desert was excellant. The prices are reasonable, meals under $10.00.

★★★  They're nice people and they gave us free dates etc for iftar. I wasn't blown away by the quality of the food but I wasn't terribly disappointed either.

★★★★  Nice place to eat, place to pray up top. Food is good and cheaply priced. Owners are friendly. Better than the average Pakistani deli. Great for late night eating.

★★★★  Several Brothers and I eat there after Jummah and we like it a lot. The owners are very cordial and the food is really good. May Allah (SWT) bless the brothers since they allow you to offer your salat upstairs if your ever in the area! My only complaint is that the trays sometime smell but hey this is a busy restaurant serving good food to local students, tourists, and business people.

★★★★  biryani was pretty good. owner was very nice and hooked me up with a free desert since i was from out of town. Portion size was more than a mortal's share. prices were pretty reasonable. yup, seating is limited but alhumdu li allah you do the best you can with what allah tallah gives you. American friends liked it alot. would go again if in the area

★★★★  Their biryanis are really good, and they give big portions for one person. It's a little cramped, but there is a room upstairs if you need space.

★★★  "New York-style Pak deli. OK food, but out of things late at night, though."
