 | ★★★★★ The place was recently renovated and looks awesome!! Their menu is double sided and each side has a sign saying they serve zabihah halal. The owner also gave us verbal assurance that they do. The food - awesome like always!!! |

 | ★★★★★ While this place may not have a halal certificate on display. They really do make a point of putting signs everywhere that they serve all halal meat. They may not be muslims but considering that they serve a non-muslim clientele as well that is pretty good. The food there (especially their burgers) are very good though the service is a bit slow. The kitchen, which you can actually see from the customer area, is quite clean. Next time I go there, and I go almost every time I visit, I will ask if there are issues with a halal certificate for them. |

 | ★★★ Great food, all the items on the Menu are great. Not sure if it is a 100% halal or zabihah meat. I have been there and eaten there a few times and have gotten verbal assurance from the staff. I have never seen any muslim individuals dine or carry out from there so I am a bit skeptical and have stopped going to this restaurant. My father knows the Owner of Minar Meat Market and they DO NOT GET THEIR MEAT FROM THERE. |

 | ★★★★★ Excellent Food!! I tried this place on a friends' recommendation and must admit they have the best food in the area. I also verified the meat suppliers as Minar Meat Mart. Really...check it out and be your own judge! |

 | ★ I think the owners are Non Muslims. When I called to place the order and said Assalmoalikum the person did not know how to react. When I went to pick up the food I could make out that they are not muslims and hence 100% halal no guarantee. Go on your own risk. Food tastes better than most of the muslim owned restaurants in the viccnity. |

 | ★★★★★ I did some research on Restaurant Depot and they are a nationwide chain. I called a location and asked about the meat and they said they do indeed carry Zabihah Halal meats. Now the question is: Can our guy at saffron prove he buys all his meats from them? |

 | ★ Wish I have read some of the later reviews about the place. I went there a couple weeks back, after getting their address from this site.
The food was wonderful, no complain about it. As we entered the resturant we asked of the food was halal and the gentleman there said it was, so we took him for granted. Then, just when we were done with our meal we wanted to pray. But to our surprise the gentleman who was working there didn't know where the qiblah was, and opologized saying that he didn't know much about muslim practices since he didn't pray himself! That raised an eye brow and made us think of the truth about this place being a halal serve place!! Not to mention that the resturan is filled with hindu like figures and not a islamic symbol (a mosque or whatever). Then when we used the bathroom it was filthy and no water canteen to be used for tahara!
Hmmm I should agree with the earlier post by mbhally. This place may not be as halal as advertised. |

 | ★ BEWARE! The owners have changed and are non Muslims. I went to the restaurant a week ago and talked to the new owner. The new owner showed me the receipts for the meat purchase and they are mostly from Restaurant Depot - which although shows Halal on the receipt but is infact not Zabihah. Nothing against the new owners and they probably are not aware of this Zabihah issue because of the word Halal on the receipt. I also checked with Minar Mart and talked to Sikander bhai and there had been only 1 goat purchase in 3 weeks or so. Pls. do your research - I'm convinced this restaurant is no longer Zabihah.

 | ★★★★★ Small, quite restaurant. The traffic is very low here. Been here twice- the food is very good - I tried the three paratha rolls and each one was really tasteful. Bit on the hot side- so make sure you let them know go easy on the sauce.

 | ★★★★ Good food with reasonable prices. They also have pizza and sandwiches/gyros in addition to the traditional dishes and sweets. My takeout order was messed up once (got the wrong sandwich instead of the one I ordered) so you may want to check your order before you leave the store. |

 | ★★★★ Small, casual place that just opened up a few days ago. We had iftar there and the iftar items were good. I have not tried any of the other items on their menu but the place is cute, and the menu looks good. Will try more food and post more reviews. If you're in the area, try it out. They've got a wide selection of Tahoora sweets and baklawa. For those of you who love Tahoora sweets but hate the drive to Devon, go to Saffron in Schaumburg. |
