| | ★★★★ I've been to Alara a couple of times. First with 6 friends and then with family (total 14). First time was Saturday night for my wife's birthday. Lot of people that night - it was almost full. There was an older gentleman playing Turkish music and singing. Patrons seem to be having a good time and some were also dancing. I had brought in a birthday cake, which they served, while the live singer sang Happy Birthday. The food was good. Pide is a good choice (assorted one is good that you can try a number of different ones). Appertizers were OK.
Second time was with the family, on a Sunday evening. It was not busy at all. Again, we had Pide. We ordered a number of entrees which they recommended to make as assorted platters. Everyone liked the food as it was different than what we usually have. If you dare, ask for their grilled green chili.
Service both times was quite good. Very friendly people. I was thanked both times on the way out by the gentleman behind the counter. It's a good recommendation for those that want to try different Halal options out there. There's more to life than desi food..... :-)

| | ★★★★ If you've never tried Turkish before, you can't go wrong with Pide. It's a flat baked bread with your choice of toppings (sort of like a pizza). Try the mixed one (karisik) to try out the whole range of toppings. The chicken & mozzarella is a safe bet, but the Turkish sausage pide was surprisingly good too. Live Turkish bands some evenings and the weekends. Unfortunately, like many Turkish restaurants, Alcohol is freely served. So you may want to keep that in mind. |

| | ★★★★ Change in management with Turkish muslims being the new. All Halal food, meat from shop from Lawrence Warden. Very neat clean upscale sort enviorment. Portions are BIG, very fullfilling for the price you pay. Chicken souvlaki, soft moist very tender and brilliantly cooked, can see herbs on top. Near Abu Huraira masjid, suits every body's taste. Must go place. They are still brand new so putting a lot of emphasis on customer service therefore should visit before they become like everyone else |
