 | ★★★★★ dined here on a Sunday evening, called earlier but no answer so assumed they were closed. About 20 minutes later they called back on my mobile. Turns out they were open (just missed my call) - points for that
Nice decor & ambiance, not your hole in the wall kabob type place. Well lit, clean and friendly service. Goes without saying that the food was delicious and we'll definitely be returning here!

 | ★★★★★ One of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. I recently had visitors coming from middle east and they are picky eaters and only eat "halal food" so, we tried many halal food in different places and tried this place "La Mirage Cafe" they realy loved the food , liked the customer service " alhmdollelah" all the food was excellent specially the chiken skewers and the lamb kabob... my kids love the salad with the owner's special souce they also love tabouleh there...I tried something called "iskander kabob" the owner said it's a very familiar Turkish plate, it wasn't bad at all and i liked it...Me, my fmily, and my visitors say that this is a must visit halal restaurant.. |

 | ★★★★ We ordered chicken shawarma, gyro wrap, chicken strips, and french fries. The chicken was extremely tender. The shawarma and strips were quite tasty. The gyro was a bit salty. The lady owner spoke with us and said everything except the gyro meat, fries, and one other item are made fresh. She was very receptive to feedback and very nice. The decor was nice and attracted non muslim clients (that's when you know the food is good).Restroom was clean. |

 | ★★★★ Just stopped here on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It's worth mentioning that the restaurant is small, so if you blink while driving by, you'll miss it. Park in the mall at the end of F street, because the first 3 hours are free provided you use their machine to validate your parking. The walk back and from La Mirage will be good for you anyway. I don't recommend doing this at dark, though.
The lunch menu isn't valid on Sunday, but the shwarmas are about $8-10. I went with the combo meat platter, which was a bit pricey at $23 with tax, but it was very good. The portion was just right and I had enough to take some back home, but that's because they do not go heavy on the rice, which in my opinion is a good thing. Most halal places pile on the rice, but I notice that many people waster it. So La Mirage is doing everyone a favor by keeping their serving just right. I could have gone with something cheaper, like the pizza, but that's for next time!
And they have the best hot sauce in SD! Ask for it and use it sparingly or you'll be gulping down water. The Turkish woman who took my order was very friendly and welcoming.
La Mirage is such a quaint, but nice place away from the noise of the SD bars, but provides good food and service. I can't wait to go back! |

 | ★★★★ This is a lovely little restaurant. Very clean. The food is fresh and delicious. The prices are a little high for the size of the portions, in my opinion, but not too high. The service is good, if sometimes slow. One thing was odd; the soup was served with a plastic soup spoon instead of a real one. That one detail was so out of place with the ambiance of the resaurant that it was funny. |

 | ★★★★ This is nice cozy and small joint. We went here on a weekday while vacationing in the San Diego area. I had a gyro sandwich, wife had a tabooli salad and kids shared a pesto/cheese pizza. Wife complained about too much lemon juice in the salad. The owner showed concern and offered to add extra olive oil in the salad. Wife was still not happy so the owner brought her extra salad without the lemon juice. All is all we left satisfied. Nice ambeince in downltown location. Parking could be challenging but we were lucky to find a good spot. Would return here. |

 | ★★★★ This is a good sit down restaurant to enjoy a nice meal. It was busy during the night. Parking was easy to find. The ambiance of the place was enjoyable and was the food. Got the chicken sharwama platter, but was disappointed that it wasn't served with pita for the sharwama and the hummus. One waiter was taking all the orders, but the waiter did the best he could. Overall good food and enjoyable experience

 | ★★★★ We decided to try this place out while in San Diego. If you go during the day it can be tough to find street parking, but if you park on Anderson across from the Mortuary its free with no meters. The food was excellent, we had the chicken kebab and a mixed shwarma. The advertise its healthy, and it tasted healthy. The server was very nice and I would definitely return if I am in town again. |

 | ★★★★★ We had the mixed kibbeh, shish kebab platter, and chicken shawarma for lunch. I would definitely come back and order the two any day. The rice and salad that came along with the food was really delicious (and this is coming from someone who doesn't like to either much at all!) The service was also very good and timely. I would highly recommend it to anyone else looking for halal restaurants in San Diego. |

 | ★★★★★ This is one the best Zabihah restaurants we have visited. Owners are Muslim & have the halal certificate . Very clean and nicely decorated. We were so happy to find out this restaurant . We ordered the Chicken shwerma : Very Juicy, perfect on salt and served with rice+hummus+salat . My husband ordered the lamb chops, Mashalla lamb chops were served with hummus + rice+ salad. The hummus was in perfect taste. Just like the way my mom makes. We also ordered their falafel. The server told us that their falafels were made like back home no ready powder. Great fallafels.
Zabihah restaurant+ clean + great price+ owners are muslims , yes inshallah we will support them. |

 | ★★ This restaurant is the worst restaurant I have visited in US: Very small space inside, cooking is not good, and it looks like cocked two days before, Old food, Very expressive and littlie food. 4 persons around 130 $ + 18% tip = almost 150 $, Bad serving, when I ordered a dish, they bring another one. I strongly don't recommend to visit this restaurant.

 | ★★★★ My wife and I visited this place with our 18 month-old baby for lunch. Fortunately, there was street parking available.
The owner was an extremely warm and friendly lady. She took time to explain the menu and inquired our likes and dislikes. She was also helpful in helping us put our restless baby at ease by offering cut tomates to play with etc. She also offered the prayer room for my wife to use to nurse our baby with some privacy. Food came in quite promptly too. So top marks for service.
As for the food, we simply loved it! It was very authentically Turkish, tasty and portions are just nice.
I had the mixed grill of chicken, lamb and beef, with a side of hummus. I was hungry, so the big portion of the mixed grill was just what I needed. There was enough to share with my wife even. The different meats had different spices and marinades and was really tasty. The hummus was pretty good too.
My wife had the mini (smaller lunch-sized portion) Iskander which was shawarma-like slices of meat on top of soft bread, topped by tomato sauce and yogurt/cream. This was nice too. My wife found even the mini portion to be a lot, so we packed the leftovers with us and finished everything later.
We also ordered a side dish of Babaganoush and bread while waiting for our main dishes to come. The Babaganoush was average but the nice, warm and soft bread made it appetizing nonetheless.
The home-made lemonade was also good - fresh and not too sweet.
The owner stressed her special emphasis on healthy eating with many organic items on offer (this was evident from the menu) and uses no MSG etc.. So this was a big plus.
Although the price is probably not cheap, we thought it was fair considering the quality of food.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this place - friendly, helpful service, good and healthy food.

The mixed grill is a must try. Absolutely perfect dish. You cannot go wrong with it.

 | ★★★★★ We were in San Diego for a couple of days. Since it was our first time, we relied on Zabihah.com for restaurants and ended up choosing Pasha for a nice quiet dinner.
At first glance, the place appeared to be a collegiate / quick bite type of spot. We didn't know what to expect when we talked in. A bit smaller than I had expected but the ambience covered up for the space.
A few minutes after we talked in, the owner walked in to serve us. Great guy. He immediately developed a relationship with us. He gave us full attention and was detailed in describing the menu options. Food arrived after the normal 15-20 minute wait. Delicious! Good serving size I must say. We had initially planned for a 3-course meal but ended up skipping the dessert because we were too full.
The owner's service compelled us to visit him the next day, just for dessert and tea. We talked for quite a bit and his company was quite enjoyable as his interests were somewhat relative to my own. When he found out we were on our honeymoon, he took care of the tab. Now that is service!
A+ for Service, A+ for food, A+ for location, A- for parking (looks to be a tight spot but wasn't too hard to find it). Would definitely visit him again! Thank you Zabihah! |

 | ★★★★★ We were on vacation in San Diego an read the reviews of this restaurant. Honestly, the reviews don't do this place justice. The food is EXCELLENT. Everything is prepared after you order, so although you may have to wait a little bit to get your order, the food is fresh and flavorful. I really appreciate that on the menu they clearly state that all the meat is Halal and that they do not serve alcohol. There is no parking lot, but plenty of street parking. There are meters up front but around the corner there is a side street with free parking. My family left very full and satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting San Diego. |

 | ★★★★★ We were visiting for Eid, we were so glad that Pasha was open. They have the best hummus MASHALLAH .My son and my daughter in law took us to this beautifull restaurant.First of all every thing is halal ! We need to promot ebusiness like this. And the food the best i ever tried. Their shwarma chicken and beef was the most beautifull and taste one that we ever tried. My son ordered the beef shish it came with two color rice and nuts on the top with salad ,great valie and great size. I ordered the beef shwarma and my husband ordered the chicken ( we shared at the end) but every plate came out with attention, very well prepared and the appetizers were amazing. The owner make their own Kunafa and Baklava they were fresh and excellent. Before we leave we will be visiting again.Service was excellent and really nice decoration and very clean restaurant. | ★★★ I ordered the mixed kabob plate. The total was $23 something. If I knew how expensive it was I would have ordered a five dollar sandwich. I noticed a sign on the door that said buy one entree get one free with the purchase of two drinks, so I guess I should have ordered that? The rice was greasy. I didn't really want to eat it. Some of the pieces of the beef kabob were tough and some were acceptable. The seasoning was nothing special. The koobideh was very vinegary. The texture was good and the seasoning was a little tasty. The vinegar killed it though. The chicken was decent. It had good texture, and OK flavor, but it tasted of vinegar too. The hummus was not good at all. It was too bad though. The amount was really small. The small salad was OK. I felt that the value was not good because for the same price I could have got something really good somewhere else. At Hatam you can get a large portion of filet mignon for that price. And at Hatam the rice is fantastic and the meat is usually superb. I will probably go back and give it another shot because maybe when you eat in the restaurant it tastes a lot better. |

 | ★★★★★ We were visiting the area and when I walked in, I saw Halal sign on the door and a couple of other religious pics. The owner confirmed it was 100% Zabihah halal and had a certificate and also said halal on the menu. Above average food with excellent service with a smile. I dont understand all these other places in the San Diego with the "half" halal and alcohol served/allowed. Those people are definitely confused. But this place is was legit. |

 | ★★★★★ I first came here with my wife and in-laws. My wife and I are muslims but here parents are not. We all loved this place, it didn't matter to them if it was halal or not, they were in love. I brought my wife a second time, and the food, once again, DELICIOUS. It is so authentic and now my in-laws keep asking me to take them and so does my wife. So people beware, if you bring in-laws, or family, expect to take them many more times. We had the beef kabob, chicken kabob, the rice was hot and fresh, unlike what previous poster had mentioned. Great, I am now craving it, I probably will stop by there now. |

 | ★★★★★ Just visiting San Diego for the day a d found this resturant here, so we decided to give it a go. Got a little sceptical at first as when I looked at the rating it showed only a 3.5. Anyhow we went anyway, and boy, am I glad I went. The food was very tasty. I got the mixed grilled plate, the chicken spices were a perfect blend to the colored rice, and the kabob was also very distinct in taste when put again the chicken. The lamb meat was a little chewy for my liking but the spices more than made up for it. The portions are large, and the best part was the attention to detail from décor to presentation of food, and the personal attention to their guests. The owners were there and very pleasant people. Great experience!!! |

 | ★★ We were in San Diego for the weekend and was happy to find a halal Turkish restaurant so close to downtown. Unfortunately, the food wasn't up to par. Most items were bland and served without salads and grilled chilli peppers. We had to ask for them and were presented with grilled green peppers instead! Quite honestly, I've had better. Good luck to them though...with a little help out front and some guidance on the menu, this place could be a success...in time. |
