I have been wanting to come here because of reading all the good reviews. Anyway I was mislead by the reviews very badly. (Also I am noticing that all the good reviews have 5 stars and all the poor reviews are one star and no average stars which looks fishy). I went for their dinner buffet excited that they will serve many items but they only had maybe 5- 6 dishes. And then pizza and stombolli was extra. The pasta dishes were not good they barely had any real meat in them, most of their meat seemed like deli style meat like sausage and bologna not realy meat. that too there was barely any meat. Like someone stated on here the only real good item was their pizza. their chicken alfredo pizza is good. But not that great.
needless to say the owner was nice and polite , resturant was clean and neat. But they really need to work on their food. Il Palazzo Buffet & Grill responds: assalamualikum brother i tryed to send you an email but it didn't go threw ,do you know how hard it is to get halal meet ,we use top of the line halal meet and we dont have deli and bologna meet ,and about 6 dishes you right its 6 dishes and ,pizza and pasta ,we charge 7.99 what do you think i have to put in the buffet ,and we open this restuarant to for our muslim cominty ,and all the reviews written by real coustmers like you .you said i was polite and the pizza was good and the place was clean. The food was much worse than any typical Italian pizza/pasta/food chain you can think of (Pizza Hut, Ci-Ci's, Olive Garden etc.) They had some kind of carrot/mayonnaise dessert. When I tried it, it was so bad that I had to spit out. At some point the waiter came and ask how the food was. I told her that people could get sick because the carrot food was bad and old (April 19, 2012). When I asked her when it was made, she said yesterday. Probably she was not expecting such a question. When I made another trip to the buffet, the carrot was gone and replaced by melon.
This is probably the only single star rating I submit for a restaurant. |

This is the most under-rated restaurant in Dallas area Period.
I dont think there are any retaurants that specialize in serving only Italian cuisine.
The place's decor is awesome, ambience was nice, clean and inviting and the Owner Ali is the most polite considerate gentleman.
The food was delicious, fresh and tasty. Some of the dishes are Ali's mother's recipes which are awesome. The owner also added customized dishes to our buffet for me since I am diabetic and cannot eat certain food. My wife loved the Lasagna,alfredo chicken and the pizza and Manicotti was simply Heaven.
Ali also hooked us up with his special sage tea which was like like the most awesome tea Ive ever had.
This place definetely rocks and I give it 2 thumbs up !
I also urge you to overlook this huge negative blob of a review at the bottom and give this place a shot.
If there is something you do not like, talk to Ali, he listens and no Im not related to Ali and I wasnt paid to write this review. :) |

I have used zabihah for along time and just registered so I can show my appreciation which went above and beyond on his part . We have been to this restaurant three times and the last time was for iftaar . It was also my daughter's birthday ( Ayesha) who turned four . They went out of their way and made a dessert for my daughter , asked our requests for extra dishes in the buffet and made it a very memorable experience . One thing I will mention after reading other reviews which made me write this review is that if you feel like the food is under average or is in limited quantity let them know your concerns and they are very good at listening to you and make sure you have a good experience. My only complaint would have been is that majority of there buffet pizza are either chicken or vegetarian and I think a halaal pizza should always have pepperoni and sausage :)......... Just my two cents as a happy and loyal customer . |

The owner likes to talk to the customers to make them feel welcome and as if they are at home. On top of that the food is always fresh and hand made. All the meats are halal so its easier and more conventent for the adults and children to decide what they want. Theres always pizza, pasta, and salad. You can even ask for a certain dish such as wings, desert, or a sub. Great service and a friendly atmosphere. Reservations are available if needed so you can reserve a spot for your family and friends.
Its a little hard to choose what to eat due to the variety of Italian dishes. I went up to the line about six or seven times just to try as much as i could.
All in all the food is great, the place looks good, and my family and i enjoyed our time. |

The chicken alfredo is what I always eat, now after trying other dishes on the buffet I would have a hard time picking my favorite. Oh yes, love their pizza. We each had the buffet which had a great variety of Italian dishes. Some I'd never tried before such as the Chicken Parmesan. It was really good. Their pepperoni pizza was really good, not too thick or too heavy on the sauce as so many places are, at least from my perspective. The lasagna was really good as was everything I had including the cheesecake. Whenever I am on that side of town, I'll be stopping by to try other dishes. The owner was very friendly and came by the table to make certain that everything was to our liking and to see if he could do anything to make our experience even better. |

| ★ I decided to come here for iftar after finding a coupon (via the company Groupon) that was for 2 adult dinner buffets for $10 dollars. After reading the reviews on here I was excited to try what I thought would be an excellent italian meal. I was wrong. This place was not only awful in terms of the food, but the owner was both rude and manipulative. To start off with, as soon as we entered we made clear that we were planning on using the Groupon for our meal. Upon showing him the groupon, he stated that he would not honour it because it was for a "dinner buffet" and now it was the "iftar buffet". He then lied to me about the usual dinner timings, saying it was only 7-8 and then changing his mind later to 6-8, he told me that it said on the website that the groupon would not be redeemable during iftar time (which I checked later and found out was false). After asking him kindly to consider making an exception since it was nearly iftar time and since there was no way of us knowing this beforehand, he finally said "ok fine go ahead" in a very rude tone. Now as we took our seats and started waiting, an argument broke out between another party of non-muslims who had been also dining in with the same groupon deal. When it came time for them to pay, the owner told them that he would not honour their coupon either, and they became understandably upset. He was asking them to pay full price from what I heard, and claimed that it "wasnt his fault that groupon made a mistake". He kept saying that groupon was for a "dinner buffet" and that it was "iftar buffet" now. From the way he was arguing you could tell that he was just trying to get as much money out of these people as he could. He became increasingly ruder saying things like "this is my restaurant and you will pay whatever i say, i had nothing to do with that groupon, they made the price by mistake and i shouldn't have to honor it" (which btw is nonsense, groupon doesn't make deals without the owners consent). Either way, this argument ended in the party paying full price and then walking out angrily. On the way out they said "this business isn't going to last" which honestly I think is 100% true now. And in response to this, he followed them out onto the street and started yelling at them "I swear to god I have never seen a person as cheap as you!!! I swear to god!!!" I couldn't hear the rest of what he said because the door closed behind them, but everyone in the restaurant was shocked. I have never seen such an unprofessional display. I hope the owner understands that he just lost several customers forever. To finish off this horror story, when the time came to pay, he ended up charging me anyways for the difference between full price and the coupon price, which was ridiculous and manipulative. At this point I just paid what he was asking in order to avoid fighting and arguing with someone during Ramadan. But I had to come here and post this story so that other people can avoid having a terrible experience like this. Also, since I realized I forgot to comment on the food, here you go (I will review it while trying to keep this situation from biasing the actual quality of the food inshAllah):
Food was below average. Honestly, it was. There were only about 10 - 15 dishes, as opposed to the 20 advertised. And of those, all the italian dishes were completely subpar. The alfredo was watery, the pasta too. the lasagna was hard, and the pizza was worse than cicis. There were a couple of decent dishes, but other than that I left completely unsatisfied. I am honestly shocked at how this place has so many good reviews, and it makes me wonder if they are all written by actual customers... hmm.
So all in all, everything I have said here is the truth. And I feel in my heart that this business is being run by someone who is dishonest and mean, so be wary when you decide to spend your night here. You will regret it.

I ordered a bunch of different stuff so the entire family can enjoy it during Iftar. The food and service is hands down one of the best in town. If you enjoy sandwiches or Italian food, then you will surely love this place. The owner, Ali, made me comfortable that they use zabihah halal meat. I loved the philly cheese steak sub and cheese lasagna. I usually prefer beef over chicken, but did try a slice of their chicken vegetable pizza and it was delicious! We just had a small iftar party there with several families, they had a small area to pray and were provided a special fruit punch juice, traditional lassi and dates to break our fast.
The buffet is hands down the absolute best authentic zabihah halal Italian buffet I have ever had in my life. There were so many choices of dishes, some of the best items were the fresh beef pepperoni pizza, turkey sausage meat lovers pizza, chicken Alfredo pasta noodles and spaghetti with meatballs, also a good selection of Greek/Arabic dishes such as dolmas, kabobs, hummus and pita bread. After our meal the owner and his wife even brought us some traditional Arabic hot sweet tea and fresh hot kataif filled with sweet cheese and nuts. Very Highly recommended, this is the only Zabihah Halal Italian restaurant in the DFW area, very family oriented and the food was truly tasty and delightful, I will be coming back soon inshallah. :-)

| NR I called them to confirm if it is halal, I was told they buy meat from Sysco, restaurant depot and other places. I have my doubts if it is halal! | ★★★★★ Just got back from our first visit to Il Palazzo. Authentic Italian food at great price and very courteous staff. We were the last customers of the night, past the buffet end time. The owner, Ali, personally welcomed us and took care of us. We ordered off the menu but the owner let us sample the buffet and let our kids eat from the buffet. I tried the Chicken parmesan and my wife tried the chicken Alfredo, both very good. The garlic bread was scrumptious. The taste really was authentic italian without any adulteration with Desi or Arab flavors. We had a long chat with the owner who is a very nice Palestinian fellow (also fluent in Hindi/Urdu) and has about 20 years experience in the restaurant business. Parking was easy to find. They also deliver locally. Overall an excellent halal Italian restaurant. |
