Everything had a strong taste of "chaat masala" something that I am not looking for in a kabab roll. Overall an OK place to go to but not my favorite halal burgers. Fries are just OK and are overlaoded with masala. The staff and the owners are friendly and there is plenty of parking. One thing that I would rate really low is the speed and accuracy of service. With just a party of four, the first and last item of our food arrived about 10 to 15 minutes apart. The staff was busy watching cricket and browsing the web on their laptops. If it was not for this reason, I would have given them a 4 star rating. |

This is one of the few places our kids love to go eat at. It's you basic mom and pop burger joint, with a twist. You can tell them how hot you want your food to be and they will adjust it accordingly. The chat masala sprinkled fries are a hit and miss half the people in our family like them and half don't so we always ask them to do half and half. I am hooked on their newest green chilli burger, but have tried their rolls and Philli cheese steak, all are equally good. |

The food was mediocre and the service terrible. The feckless staff did not know how to correctly take orders. It took a very long time to get our order which arrived in several installments. Very bad experience. It would be good if they cleaned the restaurant and trained their staff. Reading the comments posted by restaurant owners tells you what kind of people they are. | ★★★ This establishment, while not a bad place to eat, is not a particularly great venue either - it is what one would expect from a bog standard fast food place anywhere. Of course, for us, the main reason for patronizing this establishment is the fact that it is halal and provides a break from the routine of South Asian - Middle Eastern - Thai - Chinese.
Is the service slow? It has been on the two occasions I have been here, but two visits isn't much of a data point so I am hesitant to condemn the place based on two visits. I am mildly concerned about the cleanliness of the establishment. I would like to see staff cleaning the caked on grease from the tables, chairs, counter, etc. On peeking into the kitchen however, it appears to be clean though. All in all, the food quality, service and ambiance combine to give this place an average rating.

We have been here each time we visit the area, and have not been disapointed.

| ★ Ok, so we read the reviews and thought it's a new restaurant, so we should try it out. First of all we ordered from home and then drove there, that took about 20 minutes.. Once we got there we saw that the seating arrangement was really bad, they tried to put too many tables when there isn't enough space, the chairs bump into each other when people try to sit.. It's very uncomfortable because it feels like everyone is sitting right on your head.. Then our food took about 40 minutes to come out after we got there. At first they brought just the pieces of fried chicken and no other food.. Normally all food should come out together.. So we waited 10 minutes to see if the other food will come out, it didn't. So we told the guy to take it back and because it's cold now and bring the fried chicken with our food.. 10 minutes after that our food came out, which was so so... and the fried chicken they brought with it was under cooked.. there was blood coming out when we took it apart.. so we showed it to the guy and sent it back.. Then it didn't come out until we were leaving, so we told the guy we don't want it... So our experience was really bad and we r definitely not going back there.. My suggestion to the owner and management is that they need to get organized and plan things better.. They need to either get more equipment for cooking and more people to work and just better organization.. I reallly wish that our experience was better because we really need good restaurants in plano.. I hope this will the owners of Hot and crunchy to improve their restaurant and the service! |

Honetly there turn around for food service is slow if you order on spot. THis is with the standard of other desi resturants in Dallas Metroplex, who we all know serves pre-made dishes (with microwave heat). And only reason Hot N Crunchy are late due to their fresh make, which I highly prefer over waiting . So thank you.

I just wanted to say that it takes time and effort to built reputation and I think it is really shameful for a muslim brother to say negative things just to attract some customers to his business. Being a resident of Plano I know both of the parties very well and can confidently say that Hot N Crunchy serves 100% Halal food. People from all over the place read our reviews to find out which place serves Halal. So please try not to misguide and confuse them. I really enjoyed the clean atmosphere and the customer service of Hot N Crunchy and of course the food was fabulous especially grilled chicken burger, chicken tenders and Philly cheese steak. The best part I liked was their kids room which no other Halal restaurant in Plano has.

| NR In response to Zabihahmatters and Bilalali, i would like to say that those are false claims and by saying that our food is not halal is very unethical and if you really want to verify authenticity of halal meat than you will have to go beyond supplier. We serve 100% Zabihah Halal Meat and we have Authenticity Certificate to prove it and also we have never had anyone wait 43 minutes so I'm not sure where that came from. Our food and quality speaks for itself and I just want to say that lying and misdirecting muslims who rely on this site to go out and eat with their families is not something a good muslim or humanbeing would do. Please be confident about our halal food and feel free to come and let our great quality food decide who to trust. This is a family owned restaurant and the whole idea was to provide our muslim community with good quality Zabiha Halal food that is not easily available. | ★★★★★ We went there last night after seeing a flyer at Plano masjid on Friday. We ordered fried chicken, Philly chicken sandwich, chicken tikka (on seekh) and chicken tender burger. All we could say after a few bites was WOW! This is probably the first time I am giving a 5 star rating to a local eatery. Especially considering we'd gone in with very low expectations. But the food turned out to be very appetizing and the price is fairly reasonable. I would say the chicken tikka is the best, very different marinate, had slight spicy zing to it that I hadn't tasted for many years. Chicken tikka everywhere else is practically a joke. I was sold right there, though I had gone in for the fried chicken but must add the crunchy tender chicken burger and Philly chicken were also very good. The fried chicken was also fairly good, still better than any halal fried chicken in the area, but after the other 3 dishes, it didn't matter.
They also have a small kids play room with some toys right in there which is a novel idea to keep kids busy while parents have their meals and can still keep an eye on their kids. Customer service was polite though their preparation does take some time - they recommend that you call in with your order before arriving. I think the menu would be available from their website. Let's hope they prosper and maintain their quality. I would hate for such a good find to fizzle out after a few months, as most of our halal places do. |
