★★★ I did not go into the store so I am giving three stars since I am unsure of labeling in the store. But when my husband came home from meat from this store, it had a label on it with a code (assuming this is the code in the register) and a weight. How can meat be sold without a packaged date and a sell by date? Plus what is the meat type, mostly you can tell visually but what about ground beef? Is it 90/10, 85/15 or what? Meat was not fresh looking, ground beef had a greyish color and when cooked there were grizzly/chewy pieces in it, yuck. Plus there are all these 5 star reviews from Jan 14 that seem very similar, I just am not seeing how this is 5 star when the meat is not labeled. Is this even allowed by the Texas Health Office??? The only thing that was labeled was the Crescent Chicken breasts, but ground beef and cut up whole chicken was not. And prices were high, I can get the same prices or better in Richardson area. Sorry not a fan.
NR Im really happy to announce Meat Matters is now open ( April 1st) under name Al Thuraya Halal, we are back with all Halal Fresh Organic Meat and Crescent Chicken like Meat Mattes customers used to shop!
We are having 30 days soft opening!
We will carry the name Meat Matters Al Thuraya Halal.
★ sad to hear old managedment gone and now Texas King took over guys watch out they sell Tyson's chicken.
★★★★ They had great food back then but their quality is dropping, but it's still a good place to shop and eat
★★★★ Love the pizza! It's even better than Domino's or Papa Johns. There Gyros and sandwiches are good too but a little on the expensive side.
★ I used to buy meat from them but latly have many problem old (bad meat) and when I try to talk owner he was so rude. Owner told us they sell only crescent chicken but found out they are buying from other wholesalers too...
★★★ I had an extremely bad experience at Meat Matters today. The urdu speaking butcher is a very rude and an unfriendly person. This afternoon I was there to buy some meat, I picked a baby goat and asked the Spanish butcher to process it. I actually ignored the other butcher and started chatting with the Spanish butcher who was processing the meat for me. The urdu speaking butcher interrupted me, get ...into an argument, used profanity and asked me to leave the sop. I called the owner, he seems to be a nice guy, he apologized and assured me that he will address the issue with the butcher. Later the other cashiers in the store told me that this butcher is also having issues with other customers. If anyone else had a similar experience, please bring it to the attention of the owners, so that they can address the issue to improve their customer service. I hope they will appreciate.
★★★★ delicious pizza! Loved their gyros as well.
★ Taste of the food keeps changing. We used to like their food alot but last time when we visited them their wings were too salty and steak was full of black peppers since the chef keep on changing so does the taste of their food too
★★★★★ Best fried crispy chicken zabiha, Halal in Plano, TX and also chicken tender was excellent. You should try it worth's every penny and the customer service was excellent. If u looking 4 great Pakistani food this is place 2 be, godbless our Pakistan
★★★ Nice place and excellent staff.
★★★★ Good sandwiches and wings for cheap
★★ Got some beef yesterday the boned tray was good the other tray that is boneless looked really good color. On washing it at home the color came off showing the real beef not so good, will not buy here again. If they are misleading on the color are they misleading with the halal authenticity too.
★ Fried Chicken was not good(very crispy and oily), no gravy items at all or Naans and the restaurant look and feel simply sucks. Don't even think about taking your friends their ever.
★★★★★ I ordered the pizza supreme and loved it. Good quality ingredients and very tasteful pizza. Ordering is bit weird since you have to walk back into the kitchen. Lady at the counter gave us free mango ice cream to try which was really nice.
Groceries at this place are very very good. Great selection of items and all very good quality. Prices are also very reasonable... I just wish it was nearer to me. :)
★★★★ Good food, good service. Family friendly place the kids will enjoy the food, try the spicy wings, club sandwich, and Gyro. Both are generouse portions.
★★★★★ This restraint has improved above and beyond. Food is delicious and if you want a place that gives lots of meat i recommend trying it out. its true when they say...meat matters.
★★★★ Meat matters is an excellent place for those wanting a taste of American food, but Halal :) Their chicken tikka wings and sandwiches are awesome. I would like to go there whenever I feel like I want to have a burger or wings. Recommend this place very highly!!
★★★★★ Good food. I love the philly cheese steak. They also make great roast chicken.
★★★ Its not an ideal location to sit down and eat since its part of a grocery store but the philly cheese steak sandwich was ok. The chilli pepper burger was ok but what I didn't like is that it seemed like they used one of the standard frozen patties, not fresh so the taste wasn't quite there.
★ Assalamu Alaikum
Brothers and sisters i personally know the owners of the restaurant / store
for those who need zabihah halal meat unfourtunatly the store no loner provides the zabihah meat as it used to
Meat Matters responds: I think you are talking about the old owners. We Alhamdulillah we provide only hand slaughtered Zabihah meet. All our chicken is from Crescent foods, Chicago IL. You can call them anytime to confirm. Plus you can inspect/audit our inventory anytime to confirm our claims for Hand slaughtered zabihaha meat.
★★★★★ Food is good and the price is good. Sometimes depending on who is at the cashier, you pay different price. Once I was told there is a $1 off all menu items during lunch hour. The next day there was someone else and they denied they every had any such special ever. Dont let that bother you. Food is good. Beef Philly CheeseSteak sandwich and Double Cheese Burger are the Best.
★★★★ We have tried gyro, fried chicken and wings. Their gyro is the best in town. Fried chicken needs to be a bit spicy. Wings are also good, with different options of flavour and spice. We'll definitely go there to eat again. It is a one stop shop for both grocery needs and food. It is clean. They need to add some more food items to their menu, like BBQ.
★★★★★ Their club sandwiches are the best. On top of it they have excellent dates and almond cakes. I don't think so you'll be able to find these Pakistani style cakes anywhere in the Metroplex area.
★★★★★ This place has it all! Aside from the general expectations of a meat store, they also carry roast beef slices for sandwiches, corn beef, and turkey bologna all of which are not available at all stores. The staff is very polite and if you just want a few pounds of something, their freezer/fridge case has pre-wrapped meat like a deli section in a grocery store that you can just pick up and go (ex: ground beef, sliced chicken breast, beef stew pieces, ground chicken breast). FYI the chicken egg rolls that are in the freezer section can be taken home and fried. Steak sandwiches and club sandwich are the best. They are the best! I received many compliments about them after serving them at a party.
★★ ★ Unfortunately, meat mammerst do not hold integrity as part of their principles. I called them on Tuesday to order some ribeye steaks. I was 'assured' that they would have the steaks ready for me by Friday, as per my request. After Friday prayers, I gave them a call to ensure they have my order ready... guess what? They sold all their steaks! . If this was a typical order, I could understand and have some patience. However, these steaks were specially ordered so that the host of the dinner this weekend could prepare zabihah meat for the Muslim guests. What should I tell the hosts?
★ I'm new in plano and just stopped by to try some of their food and wasn't very impressed with the quality. I ordered Cheese burger and fried chicken to go and when i got home I saw chicken patti burger with no cheese and and chicken was half cooked. Went back and owner was rude as I complained about his food nothing was done compensate other than replacing order which was terrible. Also the grocery side was all out of order and thier prices are higher than than other places in that area. Bad experience for the first timer.
★ Terrible food quality, had to throw up , it was all rotten, its not Zabihah first of all, they say something and sell something else, mix it with Crescent and sell all kind of stuff, very poor service, never again going back.
★ ok food, too cluttered, very hard to eat while everyone is shopping grocery around you. wonder if all the menu is Zabihah halal.
★★★★ The good - it's the closest location to serve a variety of zabhiha fare to the west plano/frisco/eat carrollton residents. food is great, pizza is a 7/10, wings are the best zabihah wings i've had since king of wings. a caveat, while they are the best, they are TINY! but taste good, so make sure to load up and order extras. chicken club sandwhich is good as well. pepporoni on the pizza is pretty good.
the bad. not enough seating, service is slow, checking out and needing to pay there is a bottleneck at the register as there is only ONE register to service both the grocery store aspect and restaraunt. but, it's a great place to call in an order and pick up to save the time....just not to have to wait, especially on a weekend!
★ The Meat not good quality. The bread not fresh (out –of- date). I ordered full grilled chicken charges $12 and was burned not eatable
★★★★★ Great food! Great people!Great prices! The kinks in the new store seem to be worked out.Groceries are price marked. The meat is excellent. The marinated meat is amazing and wonerful for us working women.Best of all it's 100% zabihah halal.
★★★★★ Excellent. Texan revert finds yummy American Halal food in Plano! Phone your order in before you go, it's ready when you get there.
★★★★ We have been there a couple of times. The ambiance is not that great, too much cluttering, and little place to sit. Aside from that food is pretty decent. At least we can have American style zabihah burgurs and sandwiches. Their pizzas are also OK, however customer service is not the greatest. We ordered chicken pizza and they came with plain cheese pizza. But they did compensate with providing us side dishes like fried chicken, spinach stuffed bread and french fries. So you cannot get everything . Just enjoy the food.
★★ my sister told me about the shop and I found most of the time no price on product and they tell you different price its depends on how much you can pay
★★★★★ [No review submitted]
★★★★★ Philly, Double Cheese Burger, Wings & Chicken Tikka Pizza worth going for. Try their club and cold sandwiches.
They desperately need a "Trash Can" so that customers can dispose their trash. Prices are compatible and the owners are friendly. A must go place. Good "American style" food. Try their marinated meats in the meat section, makes life easier for cooking and BBQ.
★★ Its a very small place to begin with. second, the owner will use, Subhanallah, mashallah, mismillah, jazakallah, to push you to buy things that you dont even need. I dont personally like pushy sales persons. FYI, their burgers are too greasy.
★★★★★ Finally we have a place in DFW area to buy meat and poultry products knowing we are buying 100% Zabiha product.
With the addition of Chilli Pepper Deli, the owners are able to provide American food that is Zabiha Halal. Our children can now mashallah eat American Zabiha food. And such a huge variety of items all of them being zabiha. Excellent place and would highly recommend it to all Muslims.
★★★★★ FRESH Halal meats unlike most stores where the meat is changing color because it's been in the freezer too long.
The Deli has great food at an excellent value.
The store IS staffed by the family that owns it and while you will not get Kroger "customer service" you will also not have to pay Kroger prices.
Perhaps the DFWFoodCritic is looking for the IMPOSSIBLE, excellent deal and prices. Sounds like a banker.
★★ Their management changed a few months ago (for the worse). Haven't eatin there, because of the bad things I heard about their food. However we used to buy meat from them as they claimed they only get from Cresent. However that is now questionable. Also, no prices posted on their meats, you get a different price from differnet people behind the counter. Also, you hear different stories about their stuff depending on who's behind the counter. I am going to stop shopping at this place for these reasons.
Meat Matters responds: Alhamdulillha we are directly buying chicken from Crescent foods in Chicago. All customers or any other community member are welcome to check/inspect our Meat coolers or freezers for clarification of Crescent chicken authenticity.
