★★★★★  i disagree with most of the bad reviews, each and everytime i come with the family, i find our food to be tasty and fresh and delicious. the sandwhiches are affordable and fulfilling. never had any problems, everything appears clean and hygenic and the person at counter is jovial and they have delectable mitahi showcase which they claim to make in-house and fresh. i enjoyed each and every visit.

★★★  good food and very rude owner..likes to throw credit card at you instead of handing it like a normal person. THEY make a great meat pizza, and all the grilled items were awesome......but their philly chessestaek is very greasy and the wings were undercooked and bloody. stay awway from the wings!!!!!

★★★  Why does it take so long to make the food at this resturaunt? Food is okay. Prices are good. I'd like to give this Place another try but part of me is scared.

★★★★★  Excellent Halwa Puri! This is a self service place but the prices are cery reasonable and the owner is friendly. We tried haleem, nihari, chapli kabab and kulfi. All items were fresh and service was prompt. We will be returning on our next trip to Orlando :)

★★  placed to go orders as we were in a bit of a rush, had about 4 orders and 2 drinks TO GO!..let me emphasize TO GO part, because the person at the counter all he did was write down on a slip, take my money, and tell me to have a seat..so i had not given any tip..as no descernable service was being provided or needed,..perhaps the owners do not pay staff well enough?..and our tips are necassatated even though no service was provided, becauase all i received was poor attitude, disrespectful communication, and total ignorance of my order being delayed..as order was ready, but person decided to take care of other chores etc, and deliberately ignoring my order in kitchen, until i was handed food over 45 mins later, as large partys who ordered after me were receiving same food before me, as i waited, waited, waited..be forewarned if you plan on family take out of poor service, avoid coming if you can as we plan on doing.

★★  The cheeseburger was very weak. The chicken burger was made with an Al-Safa chicken patty (I make it better at home). Service was very slow, we waited over 40 minutes to get our food. I do not recommend.

I had heard real good stuff about Chaat House and how they had the best nihari in Orlando. I took my wife and couple of guest to eat on the weekend. When the food came my guest had a spoiled boti (meat piece) in the nihari. We took it to the owner and told him about the problem and he took it in the back. He claimed that the meat was good and that he ate the boti. He took us in the back and showed us that he was catering in Miami, what did that have to do with anything. He probably had diarrhea when he got home. None the less, in replace of the nihari he gave us two kulfis.

★★  i have been to this place and they have always charged me 15% gratuity if you order 3 or more items,
even if your eating alone or with a party of two. please
check your receipt of what they are charging you. food is okay sometimes. the owner is very rude and doesn't care how he comes across, as long as he gets his money!

★★  the woman who manages the desk is very sweet and helpful, however the owner is temperamental and at times downright arrogant, but on a good day he can be rather pleasant, unfortunately his behavior is simpley he just does'nt care how he comes across to the customers, repeat customers mean nothing, as long as business is good, i don't think he would care..i too have been "disrespected" as a customer here, taken for granted, even interupting my order and walking away because i took some minutes to look over their rather large menu..asked for a dessert, was told "too late" ..but why?...you still have 25 mins to closeing time?..it is kind of service you find "back home" at some taxi cab joint or stand, not a family restuarant.

This place charges 15 percent additionally if u have more than 4 ppl in ur party; however u are served in paper plates that u throw away yourself when u leave. I don't get it. Its not my favorite place. The food is ok, I got a stomach virus from it after eating there three times.

★★  I have stopped going to this restaurant only because the owner is very rude and literally treats some customers like trash. I have personally seen him brown nosing the more 'affluent' customers while someone like me and my friend (college students) were treated like we came for hand outs. Who we are and how rich someone is shouldn't make any difference because at the end of the day all of us are paying for the food. The way he treats his customers reflects his background very well. The food is good, sometimes. Really its a hit and miss. Most of the 'mithais' are stale. We have purchased quite a few times, they were stale every time. I liked their club sandwich, bbq platter, and spicy gyros. Kulfi and Falooda is pretty good too. The one time I ordered a samosa chaat, it was ice cold and the samosa was hard as a rock. When we complained, they just microwaved it and sent it right back. Also after paying for the food, we decided to get something else. When I went up to order, the owner looked disgusted at the idea of charging my credit card again and says "couldn't you have gotten this with everything else?" If I am paying him for the food what difference does it make if I pay him once or twice? Anyhow, I don't understand why this restaurant is still in business. I assume its because of the clueless tourists who are not aware of the restaurant's reputation and the 'elite' crowd of Orlando that enjoys the extra perks at the benefit of this guy's brown nosing.

Dirty/Broken Bathroom, Bugs flying in Sweets fridge- unfortunately poor cleanliness ruined the taste of the food. Poor service even by owner.

★★  Over the years, we ate at Chaat House restaurant a few times and generally had a good experience. But this weekend we ate their catered food at a relative's party and it was disastrous. About 60 people were at the party, so I can't speak for the non-relative guests, but virtually everyone in our extended family got food poisoning. I personally made 15 extra trips to the bathroom in the last 24 hours. My four-year-old cried when he sat on the toilet, and said, "my stomach is tired."

I don't know what happened, and didn't expect it. To their credit, when we called to complain, the restaurant immediately had the owner call us back. The owner spoke to us with great courtesy, told us that he figured out the cause of the problem, and said he had fixed the problem.

When you order catering from any restaurant, you may want to check their inspection records or cleanliness of the kitchen, or make sure they have enough food warmers for the amount of food you are ordering, or check the level of greasiness or spicy-ness that your audience will tolerate and order accordingly. A serving tray should not look like an oil refinery. The saalan should look like saalan, not like a BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

★★★★★  I am from the UK and stayed in Orlando over Christmas 2010. This place was amazing. We ate here every day, sometimes twice a day. The food is great. Best Papri Chaat ever. Haleem, Nihari, Chicked 65 is all amazing. Would not recommend the fried chicken as it was too dry and very small portions. They are extremely busy at all times and therefore you have to wait quite some time for your food. Overall fantastic restaurant, waiters were friendly and food was amazing. Would definitely go again. Wish we had a place like this in the UK.

★★★★★  Best Indian/desi food ever. A must visit place while visiting Orlando. We ate there every night during our 8 day visit.

Everything we tried had true authentic back home taste. Their Nihari and Haleem are simply incredible. Also try the Dahi Bara Chaat, Pani Puri, Lahori Charga, Chiken Bihari, Chicken Shawerma (spicy), and a very interesting Hyderabadi dish called "Chicken 65". Naan are always fresh. To satisfy you sweet tooth, try "Karachi Kulfi" with coconut on a stick and Rabri.

Also, get their paratha rolls (chicken or beef) to go before hitting the parks. You'll have great food at 1/5th the park prices. You'll thank your lucky stars since food at all Disney parks is the worst on the planet at ridiculous prices.

Service is excellent and very fast (5-7 min), and friendly. The owner/manager went around to all tables and asked how was everything.

Can't beat the price as well, ave. platter costs $7-8 and appetizers around $4-5.

WORST PLACE TO BE, VERY VERY FILTHY AND DIRTY, RUDE EMPLOYEES. BATHROOMS ARE THE WORST AND WHEN WE COMPLAINED THEY SAID ITS THE CUSTOMERS WHO DO THAT. WOW CANT THEY HAVE SOMEONE CLEAN IT I WONDER HOW COME THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS MAYBE THEY ARE PAYING OFF THE FOOD INSPECTORS. BAD FOOD STALE CHAT, THE FRIED CHICKEN WAS THE WORST OILY AND MADE TWO DAYS BEFORE, BUN KABAB WAS HORRIBLE.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE , UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SERIOUSLY SICK.

NR  I recently visited there after a long time. I was served within fifteen minutes. Nihari and chicken Bihari was awesome !!!! Nice clean place specially bathroom. The best thing about this place is when you have kids and they want burgers and stuff and you want desi food that place is the best to accommodate every one !!!!

★★  People go to restaurant for expectations of good food and experience. The whole fine-dining business niche depends on this one fact alone. If it was simply about satisfying hunger then my home kitchen is the best. The order takers look at you like "why the hell are you here" and "i wanna go home".

The dining area is FILTHY, NASTY!!!

Food definitely sub-par. One silver lining: The senior order takers are more genuine and welcoming.

...on my recent visit..i had ordered the philly cheese steak combo meal..the operative word is 'cheese" as the sandwhich was SEVERELY lacking cheese..it looked nothing like the picture they had of the sandwhich posted on the wall..also the word "jumbo" was written on the sandwhich..and it was nothing more than a 6 inch style sandwhich..they also use a "generic" style ketchup and the fountain soft drinks come with NO REFILLS!..this place is resorting to cutting corners and too bad the managment thinks it can skate by and the regular customer's won't notice..i sure did..and i doubt i will be coming back...it was rather good during the beginning years..but as of late..leaves a lot to be desired..the fried chicken quite frankly is the worst i tasted..it was much better a couple of years ago..servicewise..the lady at the counter is very nice and polite..kudos to the service staff..not so much for the cooks.

★★★★★  The food is PHENOMENAL and AMAZING!!!! I dont know where these false rumors are coming from about the bad service and food. The food was delicious and was affordable. The food was fresh and made to order. The inside of the restaurant was astonishingly clean and organized and the owner and staff were extremely nice. The customer service was superb. All in all, this was the best restaurant experience in the orlando area and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some desi food!

NR  I recently tried the chaat house we waited around 30mins to be served and it was the worst meal my family and i have tasted in actual fact we binned the entire meal.   We recently had a chance to visit this resturant. Most of the comments about the owners arrogance are 100% accurate. He has absolutely no mannerism, or business accumen. We were there recently with our two grandchildren aged 7-and 9. and only three adults.

To start with, you have to stand and order your own food, and pay it in full, plus 15% forced service charge added before anything is served or even cooked.

When asked the owner, as to why we were added service charge when their own sign said "service charge is added for people over four", his response was that they even consider little kids as persons. No resturant does that, and mostly in all decent resturants, kids are welcomed and mostly eat free anyhow .

Moving on the food is served in paper plates and foam cups, not a restuarnt feel. The ones who want to add service charge, have to give the service. We have never come accross a resturant in our entire life, where you are served in paper plates and foam cups, have to stand in line and order your own food, and are forced to pay a service charge without knowing the taste of food, or before anything is served.incidentally, we asked for water which was not even served, until we were ready- what a quality of service deserving a service charge.

We will never visit or recommend this place to anyone.

★★★★★  I live in Omaha, NE and visit Orlando often on business trips with my husband and kids. I always go to Chaat House. They not only have the freshiest & tastiest food but also have excellent customer service. The owner, Mr. Mehmoud, has gone out of his way to please us. My kids have a great time there, they love the gyro pizza. I would definitely recommend to all!

★★★  We ended up here accidentally on our first day in Orlando. The food was actually quite good. Price was a little high for the average fare fast foods, they also had a posted sign for added tip.

★★  We ate here a few days ago. The owner was very rude. And the surprising thing was a FORCED TIP of 15%. I can understand the tip but hellooo it is a fast food resturant so they charge 15% tip on a part of four. The food is very expansive if you consider that they are charging big amounts for the fast food items like burgers, chiken wings, chaats etc. The food is ok but I am rating it poor because of the costly fast food and the owner seems to busy just making as much as he can from the tourists. The locals knows the owner very well and does not go there at all.

★★  We ate here a few days ago. The owner was very rude. We ordered fried chicken. We found alot of blood in them. We send the chicken back and asked for a new order of fried chicken, the owner fried the same chicken pieces and sent them back. I wouldn't reccommend anyone to eat from this place.

The food is ok, the owner is arrogant and god forbid you have a few young females in your company. He really stares them out and makes them feel uncomfortable. We had to leave half way thru. due to this, but we did let him know about his attitude. He smiled!!!

★★★★  With the name Halal chaat house, we thought that we can have only chaat or pani puri but on the contrary Halal chaat house have lot of variety. WE had chicken Chargah, mix chaat & both dishes were good. Had a chance to meet owner who was very friendly. Also if you want to have doodh pati chai than this is the best place and also do try the meetha pan. Must visit place for chat pata food

★★  Like most of the comments I have to agree with some things. The owner Mr. Mahmoor had a very piss poor attitude. Past 4 times I visited orlando *My former Hometown* I had the pleasure of having chat and a few other items here and review are mixed. on good days you get really good chat and service but then there are times I have had Stale old food served which I can tell because I am a CHEF and come from a family with culinary history. I think he has to much going on in one place and he should rather concentrate on making a few things that he does best then try to do it all poorly..

I was visiting out of town, Recently went to this place, after spending over $100 to order food..asked for a sample, Owner not only refused, he bascially insulted me. Owner has a horrible attitude. Worst customer service I have ever received at an Indian restaurant. I won't ever go to this restaurant, and I'd recommend anyone else considering going there to reconsider and go to a place with a more friendly and respected service.

Wow! What a place..seriously, i have never been to any restaurant like this! The worse food with the most worse customer service. The guy at counter..also guessing he is the owner, had the most rude attitude ever! Food was old and cold, and took forever to get to our table (for which he had to wait for atleast and hour!)Horrible, horrible, horrible experience..will never go ther ever again!!..And to all of u who plan on visiting Orlando and having a nice time there..i advice you to not waste your time and go to the other restaurants around this place..trust me they are much better!

★★★★  guy at the front im guessing owner was kind've rushing us but the spicy gyro was very very good...fries were also good...food was good overall, wish they would have fountain drinks and/or bigger bottles of soda instead of small 12oz. bottles for 2 dollars but overall, will def. be back again and again

Orlando, FL
★★★  The food is okay but I hate the burgers, I gave them so many chances! They seemed like they've been microwaved everytime I ordered them!! Also I ordered to-go once on the phone and the guy taking my order could barely say Hi in english. I had such a hard time giving my order. Besides that the place is ok...

Orlando, FL
Bad Service. Food is ok. Owner is very rude. No sympathy or kindness for kids either. All their high chairs have broken belts. Due to that my 18 months child fell down and hurt himself on his head. Instead of accepting his failure to provide safe high chairs he fought back to us to take care of our child. Seems like he used to run a slaughter place before. Also he would not spare you for even a cent. I will never go back there and would not recommend any one either.

NR  its a hit and miss joint...like the ice-cold samosa chaat, needless to say never tried it again. Owner needs serious lesson in customer service...extremely rude unless its his "favored people" he's catering to. Not a good way to promote business!

26
Tampa, FL
★★★  Gyro and Chaat was very good, but owner fits the stereotype of a desi store owner. For a family of 6 was only given 2 plates and was given attitude when asked for 4 more. No refill on sodas, which they charge $1.25 and fill it up half with ice and a small cup only. All in all, food is good but comfort of service is horrible for what they charge.

Chaat House is the bad choice to dine in person on the counter is so loud that you just want to put your fingers in your ears. If you are ordering for family of four the food comes one after another not togerther the food is average.

2
Boca Raton, FL
Food here was just average. The service was terrible. Not child friendly. Owner was very mean to the kids. Overcharged us for items we did not order. Save yourself the stress and eat somewhere where your business is appreciated.

★★  We went there with friends. It is not your typical restaurant and does not have any curry dishes or rice etc. The seating was bad and basically no one seved us. If you like chaats, but not ususual desi food, this place may suit you. We won't go back.

Interesting. I've never had ice cold Samosa Chaat in my life..and have never been asked to pay for something I DID NOT ORDER either..but I sure did at Chaat House!!--I'd rather eat a pizza at Pizza Hut..atleast I know the food is hot and fresh...

★★★★★  This place has the best food in world!! They have a wide variety of delicious chaats and everything is fresh made to order! My favorite is the watermelon juice and their specialty-spicy gyro. Chaat House is also a very neat and clean place...with clean bathrooms! The customer service is superb, with a very friendly staff. I will definitely recommend Chaat House to everyone.

★★★★★  I love Greek Gyros. For the last few years that my family decided eat only halal meat, I was missing this delicious platter. Now I am glad that Chaat House in Orlando is offering the most delicious halal Gyro. The establishment is clean with ample parking space. May God bless those who offer halal food to 8 million Muslims in the U.S.
