★★★★ Located among many other South Asian restaurants along International Drive in Downtown Orlando, among the secondary (and cheaper) tourist traps and attractions, I was happy to discover this restaurant neatly tucked away. I walked in and immediately noticed the Indian decor in the dimly lit room. More than that, I could smell the masala in the air. I went there hungry and immediately sat down to place my order once teh Muslim man who greeted me (and would be the waiter and cashier for my order) assured me of the TAJ India's Halal authenticity. The service was fast and the moderate pricing matched the portions. The tandoori nan and butter chicken were the best. I took an order back to the hotel and was able to enjoy it a second time. I rank this restaurant as above average for three main reasons. First, out of all the South Asian restaurants in the area, it was open and very inviting by comparison with efficient service. Second, the food left a lasting positive impression and I would definitely go back. Third, the price fit easily within my budget for the trip. What mars this from being an excellent review is that some of the side-items (like pappadam and salads) were sub-par, tasting almost rushed and trhown together. The main dishes made up for that.
