★★ I went to Saffron Grill for the first time and was disappointed. The chicken in the shish kabob was all dark meat, not the breast as stated in the menu. The chicken koobideh had a strong taste of eggs in it. The filet of mignon was overcooked and not as tender as it should have been. Overall the food lacked much flavor and I had to liberally sprinkle the sumac to get the persian flavor.
NR I looked at their website and it mentions live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings. I don't think any place that has naked people dancing is a Halal or Islamic place. I don't even trust going there although the food is probably good as I read other reviews on other sites. The owner seems to be the former chef of the reknown Darya restaurant in Costa Mesa.
