★★★★★  We loved food at this Subway, the only one in NJ serving Halal subs. I was told by the owner that there is a change in Subway executive at the local office. The new executive asked them to stop serving halal food or they will be fined. As of last week there is no halal food there, but if we all send emails to Subway to resume Halal food there the situation might change. NR  I actually loved this place, they didn't have a HUGE variety of halal meats, but it was better than eating a veggie sandwich at any other subway.
We also went in last week and when i ordered a halal chicken teriyaki I was told they no longer carry halal because subway wants them to get their meat from the same distributor or something of the sort. And then I did notice that the halal menu paper was gone, as was the sign on the window/door. So i'm rather disappointed, since we did visit this place quite often. I hope they can do something to get the halal meat back, but until then I won't be driving 45 mins to this subway to eat a veggie sandwich.

NR  Eventhough I live close to this restaurant, I don't come here much since I am not a big fan of their food. However this past Sunday (6/6/2010), I went with a couple of my relatives to the plaza where this restaurant is located. One of my relatives went into subway to order food, and was informed by the person working at the counter that this Subway no longer is carrying halal meat. I also noticed that there used to be a sign that said "HALAL" outside, which is no longer being displayed. I have not left a rating for this restaurant as that would not be appropriate since I did not eat here, but rather I am writing this review to inform Muslims that they are no longer carrying halal meet here.

★★★★  I'm always really happy to see Halal versions of popular chain restaurants. Food is prepared well and you feel like your at any other subway just that its halal so don't expect the food the be 5 star as subway doesn't attempt to cater to that pallet. Everything is not halal so if that is an issue for you take that into consideration.

★★★★  The halal meat is in a seperate container. The options are limited as well. Also, the halal sandwiches are little expensive than the regular ones. They do carry non halal meat as well including ham, bacon etc. (franchise requirements) They make sure that they change their gloves before they hop over to the salad station everytime because you don't want them to put those same gloves that they made the ham sub with into the salad station!! They try to be careful. It looks like a family owned business. The staff tends to be rude and expressionless except for the owner . Don't expect the best customer service here. Hey, but you're getting halal sandwiches , you can't beat that.

Plainsboro, NJ
★★  Went here a few weeks ago. The service was a little shady but average. What disturbed me was the fact that I saw them take the "halal" meat out of the same bin as the "non-halal" meat. I order a halal chicken sub and the person behind me (non-muslim) order the same thing. Not sure if they have separate halal meat or not. It just felt a little shady

NR  YOU MUST ASK FOR HALAL

This is the worst ever experience that I had in US with any restaurant. I arrived at the shop and asked about the halal menu. The guy reluctantly pulled out the menu and behave in a very very unfriendly manner in making a menu choice. When I asked if there is a restroom, he responded with a blank face "no"!! While he was making sub, he started putting the vegetables from the counter. When I objected he started mumbling and tried to throw the vegetables from sub and then put it back. So, the bottom line is this they are extremely rude and arrogant people and really not worth to spend any of your hard earned money.

After reading some of the above reviews, I am also not sure if they carry really halal meat since they serve pork in the same location.

Stay away from this restaurant!!

★★  food is ok could be better...and for some reason the owner is relunctant to give halal when you ask for it and charges a crazy price for it...its like he doesnt want you to get halal...the place use to be a lot better but has gone down in recent yrs...

★★  i've come to this place often and today, stopped specifically in new jersey on my way back home to MD from Albany to eat here. The food's always been good, but i was irritated the owner wouldn't let us charge our laptops while we ate dinner. They apparently have a non-electronics policy. I can understand not allowing us to use a computer so we don't occupy tables for too long, but we just wanted to charge for a bit for the rest of the ride home. We spent $30 in food too.

Food's good, but service is just as important. I hate to leave such a low rating to a halal place, but the bad service was intentional in this case.

★★★★★  its a nice place and neat maybe cuse its operations are overseen by american corporation. the people behind the counter are nice and professional. Whenever there is some promotion by Subway they do not provide it for Halal food for some reason.

★★★★  Food was delicious and the place was clean although the menu was separate from the non-halal menu and as a result, limited.

★★★  Halal franchises would not be selling HAM and other haram meats. Subway is not halal, as it also has pork dishes on the menu.

★★★★★  I catered from them this past weekend, it was a platter, it was great, my guests really enjoyed it.

★★  I go here when im desperately in need of a change from eating desi food. When I order a cheese steak...i dont want just one slice cut in half to make it look like two. It's a CHEESE steak. sigh...subway has its days..some days it tastes great...other days i feel like im eating uncooked meat.

Neshanic Station, NJ
★★★★★  i went with a couple of friends over the weekend and the food is good and not that expensive. i had the steak and buffalo chicken it was really good, my friend had the chicken parm. the food is good and the people who work their are nice too.

★★★★★  Im a friend of one of the employees that work here I know for a fact that the employees due change their gloves after they make the haram subs. also the meats and the cheese are HALAL, come on were all muslims here and so are the staff at this subway, why will they give haram meat and cheese? they work hard to provide Halal meat and wont runied it by giving haram cheese. they do check everything if the cheese wasn't halal i know they wont serve it.
It's very upsetting that their are muslims out there writing bad reviews to restaurants that work hard trying to bring halal food to this community.

Okay it's nice to have a halal subway, but what's up with the reviews of 5 stars??-it's anything but!!, the meat wasn't tasty at all, the chicken, um i'd rather go to the sunshine palace place next door. I didnt like it at all, went there once and thought it was a waste of money.

★★★★  i went last weekend with my family and the subs were really yummy yaar, and the chicken parm. is really good. and its not that expensive either. the service is good, nice people

Piscataway, NJ
★★★  I truly understand that it is hard to find variety in Halal restaurants, but seriously people, I do not see how this "restaurant" could be deserving of "Excellent." The sandwiches are average, the price is average, the service is better than average, and not everything is halal. Okay for lunch, and for variety. I support it because there needs to be more competition in this area to improve quality, but far from excellent.

★★★  Subway food itself is delicous. But not all of the food is halal, and they warm it up in da mircowave which is whack. Almost worth the price u pay for it, still small in size to me.

★★  Eat fresh..? sounds like an advertisement from insider than actual review by someone.

★★★★★  This is a great place to eat for people craving regular American food. Thank God for Subway. Eat Fresh.

★★★★★  this weekend i went to the halal subway, for the first time. it was very good. there steak is very good and their buffalo chicken sandwich too. the whole menu is not halal but i ask the owners and they have to keep subway meat too. but they told me that they keep the meat seprate. nice food and nice people.

★★  Not all items are Halal. I have never tried Subway's subs other than tuna or vegi. I have tried both Beef and Chicken subs. They are ok, but I found that they are not that tasty, but worth trying. The meat is not well done and smelly, but I think this is most of the American fast food.

★★★★★  had there bufflo sub and it was so tasty, also steak was good

United States
★★  The post by kiran is misleading and incorrect. NOT all the food is halal, just few items are halal. They do serve pork related items and have to by their Subway agreement. I did not like the Chicken sandwich as it was boiled and warmedup in the microwave oven and just sause on the top. I personally like their Tuna subs better than their halal items.

United States
★★★★★  I know the owners and they are very nice people, they made sure that all the food that they serve is halal, if the glaze had wine in it,which it does not you have to notify the public if there is any type of alcohol or wine in that item. All the food that they serve is halal.

★★★★  Good subs and sandwiches however some of the items are not halal or suspect. Not sure how can the owners serve and recommend 'Teriyaki' based chicken since the basic component in Teriyaki (a Japanese sauce) is wine.

★★★★★  This places is amazing...The Steak and Chees with the Southwest sause is the best sandwich ever...loved it.. I go atleast twice a month ...

United States
★★★★  Food is good, but they don't take those Free cards that you get at other Subways, not for Halal food at least.

United States
★★★★★  I went there with a friend I ate there one of there chicken subs and it was so good, now I go there every week.

United States
★★  Tried their buffalo wing sub, and it was horrible. service was nice

United States
★★★★★  Great food, just like regular Subway, except that the meat is Halal!

United States
★★★★★  The owner is really nice, He suggested I try buffalo chicken, chicken teriyaki and it was really good. should give it a try.

United States
★★★★★  The food is really good. I really like the buffalo chicken. In America its cheaper to become overweight than to stay healthy. The subway allows me to eat what I like and watch my weight while I am at it.

United States
★★★★★  Good hot and cold sandwiches

United States
★★★★★  They offer both halal and non-halal food. If you want to eat halal, make sure your order from the halal menu.

United States
★★★★★  i work at this location and I know the owners and they have halal meat and they have a seperate supplier for halal meat, They also keep it seperate from the regular menu.the owners are muslim. The owners are very cooperative and if anyone has a question or a doubt they will happily answer your questions. They are trying so hard and helping the muslim community to get the permission to provide them with more halal choices.

I work at Subway and all of our supplies come from headquarters. I would recommend that you only eat the Tuna, Veg. Patty, Veg. Delight, or Seafood Sensaton. At the Subway where I work Week get every thing and i mean every thing form Headquarters I dont know if this Subway does the samething

United States
★★★★★  great food and cheap price

United States
★★★★★  The food here is excellent, I went here for the first time yesterday. I tried many of there subs all of them were good.

★★★★★  Best cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches, and are very cheap prices. good service too.

United States
★★★★★  I am very happy by the management and the food and Inshallah if we start more of these businesses Muslims will be recognised in this country, I drive 30 min each way to get there and I do make a trip once or twice a week for sure my kids also live it.

United States
I have made this mistake i took my familt there and they have full menue that include pork i will never go back and never support these people

United States
★★★★★  I went there came from virgina, the people who work there are very friendly, there sandwiches are great. They are very strict on keeping everything seperate. Should try it, I would definitely go there again

United States
★★  Although they have some halal menu items, As a Muslim I would not go there because they also sell pork and pork related products as mandated by the Subway franchise agreement. Anyplace where pork or alcohal is on the menu is not where I wouild eat because of possibility of cross contamination or the fact that salad/tomatos/ham are cut by the same cutter and I am eating the same salad that might have been touched by the pork pieces.

United States
★★★★★  great halal sandwiches and the owners are very friendly. came all the way from new york to try it

★★★★★  I and my wife went there last weekend. The person who owns this place is extremely polite and courteous. He even told us that the vinegar in Subway is not halal and should be avoided. Please , muslims support this place so that the SUBWAY management realizes the demand for Halal food.

United States
★★★★★   a friend told me about halal subway the food is excellent and the service is great doyourself afavour and try it

United States
★★★★★  I was shopping o oak tree rd. and i heard a couple talking about a halal subway right down the street. I couldnt believe my ears. I went their and it was soooo good, especially their buffalo chicken. and the price is not bad either.

United States
★★★★★  I recently heard about this subway even though I have been to Sunshine a lot. Went there and found it worth the money and drive. FINALLY a subway to go to. I thanked the guy for trying and succeeding in getting the permission to get halal meat. I was getting sick of desi food. This has become my favorite place to eat out.

United States
★★★★★  It's great to finally find a halal subway here. They have every kind of subs and they're really good.

United States
★★★★  The first "Halal" Subway in USA. An extensive "Halal" menu to choose from. They keep "Halal" meat away from others. Cheese Steak sandwich is excellent.

United States
★★★★★  The subs are great. It is so nice to see that the people are catering to the needs of their fellow Muslims. Try the meatball sub, club, and pizziola.

United States
★★★★★  When I first heard about it I was shocked and I tried the buffalo chicken and steak and it was soooo good. The price is really good and the subs are huge.
