NR  This restaurant now has different ownership, which I found out from the very rude new owners.

★★★★★  We usually go to Jamillah Garden, and thought that we should try this place out. We were not disappointed. We tried the chicken corn soup (score: 7/10), house special fried rice (9/10), pan fried lamb dumplings (6/10), xin jiang style lamb (9.5/10) and sesame chicken (8.5/10). Overall - excellent food, nice ambiance. Will come back, inshaallah.

★★★★  Tasty food, the menu has spicy and non-spicy options. The prices are pretty low and they have good (not giant) portions

★★★★  I was happy to discover another authentic halal Chinese option in Houston. It's the only place I've had northern Chinese cuisine (lamb dishes); what a nice change of pace! This restaurant really has quite an extensive menu -- I'm sure I could return again and again to try different dishes each time if I wanted to! However, I have my favorites and will return for those instead.

★★★★★  The fried rice was delicious...and extremely large in portion size. However the owner didn't seem to happy...Its probably the only authentic Chinese Halal food you might find in Houston.

★★★  I only went once, had the beef fried rice, and it was good.

★★  Save yourself a trip!!! We were very, very disappointed going here. We went there with some friends and ordered six dishes - 3 chicken, 1 shrimp, 1 beef, and 1 noodle. They first brought out the beef, which had a funny taste to it. It was still ok, and we felt it was edible. Then they brought the chicken, which was also ok, but had a funny taste. Next, they brought the Shrimp dish which was the one that ruined it all. It was steaming but it had a very "fishy" stench to it. We literally had to ask the waiter to take it back. After that "smell" we just did not feel like eating anything, and left after paying. So please be warned.

★★★★  The food is very good and the service they give is excellent. My only compaint is that they food isn't always superfresh. I can taste the "fridge/freezer taste" in some of the foods that have been fried, but I go here all the time, and I enjoy it a lot.

★★★★  Original Chinese Restaurant. Some dishes are different, as my fellow brother mentioned below, but the food is Very good. Try Hot & Sour & Seasame Chicken (Very good). Nice clean atmosphere, and friendly Service.

★★★★★  I always thought that I would actually have to travel to China to eat in a restaurant like this. There is no restaurant like this in the U.S. outside of California as far as I know. This is not halal American Chinese food, or halal Indian Chinese food, this is what Chinese Muslims (Hui) actually eat. The place is always packed on the weekends with non-Muslim Chinese people wanting to eat Hui cuisine. I've eaten several dishes here without being disappointed once. They have a few American Chinese dishes for people that aren't interested in Hui food, but I strongly recommend the lamb dishes that you see everyone else getting in the restaurant (crispy leg of lamb, lamb chops, Xinjiang special lamb, etc.). Because it is a halal Chinese restaurant for Chinese people (not for Pakistanis and Indians that ask for the owner to use basmati rice and more spices, etc.), they also have a wide variety of seafood and vegetarian dishes. The vegetarian dishes I've had have also been excellent, and the seafood smells very good, although I haven't had any.

★★★  OK food. Decent seating. Clean. Friendly service. Kind of pricy. Lots of organ meat variety, if your into that. I guess it's pretty authentic. Egg drop soup had a strange smell to it. I prefer the chinese halal restaurant on Bissonet.

★★★★★  visited last week. It was great food. The chicken garlic was excellent. The halal sign was on wall, both the owner and chef are Chinese muslims, great and fast service and a clean resturant. a good addition to China Town.

★★★★★  This establishment boasts a full halal menu, with halal certificate. The food was really good n authentic chinese, the kung poa chicken was excellent, so were the fish and beef dishes. The portions were very generous indeed and prices reasonable. I would definetely eat there again. Ask the owner for the specials and the popular dishes, she is very accomodating and nice.

★★★★★  Owner and chef are both Chinese Muslims and run a full halal menu. This place is different from other halal Chinese restaurants - it's real Chinese food in the heart of Chinatown catering to Chinese customers, not American style served halal. Beefcake patties were as good as ones I've eaten off the streets of Taipei. Beef potstickers were like fried dumplings, also excellent. Green onion bread and jasmine tea, all was very authentic and tasty. Definitely worth a visit
