DD's Gyros and Spuds offers a selection of Gyros from Lamb to Chicken, falafel or roasted eggplant, roasted pepper and tabouli, or stuffed vine leaves. There are some extremely creative baked potato toppings available in their Spuds section, and they've got a pretty good assortment of salads working for them too like a Agora Signature salad with red grapes, apples, pistachios, dried cranberries and blue cheese with a shallot cherry vinaigrette. ★★★★★ Excellent restaurant, and very nice owners. I was impressed with their generosity and good food. When I asked about whether their meat was halal I became a little confused. A man took a good deal of time trying to explain in another language (probably Turkish) that he does not witness the slaughter with his own eyes; I believe this might be what confused YousufD.

However, the same gentleman went on to show that he purchases zabihah meat (showing me, in fact, the box the meat comes in with the "Halal" sticker). I believe the man was simply trying to convey that he does not butcher his own meat, but buys halal. I have since confirmed this with Turkish Muslim friends who have also attended this restaurant.

NR We went there and asked the guy and he was honest and told me that he cannot confirm halal. They had some veggie stuff that looked good though.

NR I was in Hartford for a conference and had gone for lunch. I asked the lady at the counter if the food is halal. She said she is a muslim and she cannot confirm if the meat is halal. She also said that they don't sell any pork items. Please confirm before ordering.
