★★★  We ordered the combo kabab platter and the chicken shawerma platter. The quality of neither was superb, but it wasn't horrible either. It also seemed liked this restaurant isn't very family-friendly; that is, most people in the restaurant were single men who came mainly to enjoy the hookah. The waitresses were very friendly. Overall, this was an average experience.

★★  I and my family arrived late & hungry at garden grove, and this was the only open halal restaurant around us at that time of the day (10 pm-ish). So we decided to stop by and eat. The location seemed very weird -dark & quiet neighborhood. My wife said she would never be able to go there alone if she came by without me. We were the only 'family' and the only ones who had to dine indoors, as outdoor tables were full of mostly Arab-originated teenagers who were smoking hookahs -not the best view for a family with a kid. The atmosphere almost looked like a night club. We ate our cheeseburgers fast so we could get out of there as soon as possible. When I went to the register to pay our bill, the guy said they do not accept AmEx cards. The cheeseburgers were not too bad, though.
I certainly do not recommend this place for families.

I remember going to al waha 4 years ago and i loved it... they had really good food... I just went to al waha last week and it looked like a nice place but there was alot of problems. First, the menu prices are not correct . Then, the food was horrible especially the hummos it tastes like garbanzo beans blendid with water. also on the menu it says they have kinafa, but when i wanted to order some they said they don't have it ... To have a real arabic restaurant there has to be kinafa, real shawerma, real arabic tea, and finally real hummos i bet the cans would have tasted better than theres... But if your only going for hookah thats the place to go. but to eat there no way.....

★★★★  I have been going here for about 6 years and loved the previous owner Sam, who passed away. His sons do a good job of keeping up the place but it is more of a youthful hangout for Hookah but the food is still reasonable and well priced if you don't mind the atmosphere of smoke and loud music.

★★★  I don't agree with the comments about this being low priced. Food is decent - not amazing (compare to great Arab food at Gaby's in West LA or Open Sesame in Long Beach) and they've bumped up their prices way too much for what you get. Lately the crowd there is basically American high school kids trying to be 'cool', although the outdoor seating on a summer night is great - another plus is that they open really late on weekends.

★★★★★  Alwahah is the best restaurant and the best cafe in sothern cali. The food is the best i ever ate in my life. I always eat at Alwaha and the argeela is the best. And the people are the best. The service is average at night because its alway packed at night. Not like other places. And the prices are the lowest prices you gonna find in southern cali.

★★★★  The above review is bogus.we always go to alwaha where we enjoy a nice atomsphere.the food is good, the service is fair simply because it is always packed.the prices are excellent.I suggest making a visit and seeing for yourself. It is the best cafe in the area for your money and product.do not take my word for it, try it yourself.

★★★★★  oh my god i love al waha bbq, they gave me the best service of any restaurant. They are the nicest people i have met. If you attend the restaurant between 12 and 6 the service is great. After six o clock the service is okay because its gets busy and there is no workers.

The place has gone downhill. Last time i went, my chicken was inedible. They burned it and still expected me to pay for it. The owner was apologetic as he was ringing me up and taking my money. It is not for families anymore. The place attracts teenagers who come for the hookahs. It will probably get shut down because of the underage smoking.
