★ If your looking for Zabiha Halal this isn't the place you want to go.
★★★★★ very tasty good food, we really enjoyed the main dish and also the side dishes. It is great for those who like Mediterranean taste.
★★★★ I would rate the restuarant above average..Food is good ..Only chicken items are halal as told by their customer service..
NR A lot of the information above is false. I am the son of the owner of the Baba Ghannouj Restaurant on Hwy 55 in Cary (the reason why i didnt give a rating), so my information is GAURANTEED accurate. First of all, all the food IS halal, but not all of it is zabihah. Chicken kababs and wraps, kaftah kabob platters and wraps, and lamb kabob platters and wraps are all zabihah. Beef kababs and chicken curry are not zabihah because of lack of availability. Secondly, i think some of the above reviews are getting mixed up with the other locations. There are five Baba Ghannouj Bistros, all owned by different people. Subsequently, this location looks and is run very differently from the others. The menus are a little different, so i cannot guarantee that the foods i have listed will be zabihah at all the other locations also. Visit this location's website for monthly coupons, menus, and other information at: http://www.babaghannouj55.com
★★★ There is a definite disconnect b/w the staff and the owner regarding what is Zabiha and what is not. I do agree that the owner has always been forthright abt what is halal and what is not and is welcoming. The restaurant setting is nice but I find food a little pricy (portions are small). I used to go to BG regularly but now with some of the other options in town, I go there only when I can not find anything else.
★★★★★ This is one of THE best restaurants in all of North Carolina. The food is great and the service is excellent. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. Curry chicken is by far THE BEST CURRY CHICKEN THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. Gyros are AMAZING.
We use them for many catering events at work and they do a a great job!!!
★★★★★ I am an old patron of Baba Ghannouj and I know the owner well. Not only does this place definitely serve Zabihah food, it is "great-tasting" food to at that.
The owner himself goes to great lengths in selecting and marinating the most succulent pieces of meat every night, and you can definitely tell when you taste them the next day.
Furthermore, like any open deli-style restaurant, the cooks prepare the food in the open. This encourages a more cleaner, hygenic environment and process.
I would definitely encourage the residents around RTP, and people visiting from outside to check this place out.
★★★★★ I have been an old time patron of BG and have eaten there regularly and even had them cater food for a party at home. Every single time the food has been great and Assad, a good host. The place is nice and clean and the food is different from the usual fare. Assad is very forthright about what is zabiha and what is not. Just need to ask him and hopefully in the future, if the menu is classified as such, it will take care of the confusion for some people.
★★★★ Baba Ganouj is not Zabiha (I asked their owners and managers) but their vegetarian menu is really good. Really nice set up and decoration of restaurant.
★★ We ate there on 7/22/06 thinking we would eat some halal food. The staff were asked if their meats were halal and they told us they no longer serve halal meat. We got a veggie plate and the portions were a rip off for what they charge. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
★★★★★ I like the food, and they guys working there. They're very nice and friendly (Lebannese are known to be nice :) )
★★★★★ This place is great! I personally know the owners...they are brothers who run it together! Everything is HALAL for sure!!! 100% Satisfaction! FOOD IS DELICIOUS and there is a children's menu that offers chicken nuggets. etc. for picky eaters!
★★★★★ middle eastern culture is so beautiful, so exotic, and it shows it in this restaurant.
★★★★★ I think I'd rate this resteraunt a 5 because it has really good gyros. Appropriate dinners too. All halal.
Only good place seen in NC.
