I tried spicy burger and chicken diablo sandwich and both were yucky..the spicy burger wasn't spicy at all! I left the place feeling low and unsatisfied . I went there on sunday evening around 5PM and I was very hungry!! I am not sure how the food tastes on busy times here.. |

I went to try it out and I fell in love with this place. This place has some awesome service along with very clean bathroom and seating area. The food choices are astronomical. There are so many different types of burgers to choose from. The prices are even better. To get a burger its around 4 dollars, which is very cheap because in chicago to get a zabihah burger you must pay around 6 dollars and its not even that good. Gourmet Burger has some amazing sauce in there burger that cannot be found anywhere else but at Gourmet. This is a place you must go at least once if you are on vacation in or around LA. As for me I fell in love with this place so much that I had to go twice on my vacation. |

first of all. the service is top notch. the owner is a very warm and friendly.
next, these are not the best burgers in town. those who think so, i'm sorry, but they need a bit more refinement to their palettes. the burgers are a notch, to half a notch above average.
unfortunately, we muslims tend to be a bit cold towards one another. people usually have stern faces towards strangers, so it can be a bit uncomfortable for some who want to eat within the eatery. fortunately, the owner offsets this lack of warmth.
this is what this place is, it's not a zabihah in-n-out. the food is above average; however it is filling, the service is very good; and it's a great alternative to mas islamic chinese after ju'mah.
will i eat here again? of course i will, but unlike others here, i am not going because they're the best burgers period. i'll eat here to support a very nice fellow muslim's business, while eating the only available
zabihah burgers in my area.

My younger brother usually visits Gourmet burgers and we live in san diego so anytime we go out there he talks about it. I have been there with him 2 times and I must say that it is indeed the best burger I have tasted.
I hear some people say .. its just a simple burger or this or that.. I would beg to differ because my family owns a line of fast food restaurants in the east coast and I have worked in that field.. this food is good wholesome food. It's also good for the kids because they like to eat burgers n fries and its halal.
I would go to a burgerking or carls jr and get fish sandwich combo for the same price or now even more expensive than a halal burger here with fries and soda.
The owner is a good person from talking to him and his food is good. I like the menu and I hope he expands it to include mexican food soon :D yum yum ..

She has eating at all non-zabihah places b4, and this is by far the best, and I loved it very much. To those that say it tastes like a burger at home, thats the great part. It isn't gross like fast food, its fresh like home made, isn't that what people want when they eat out to be able to eat out and have fresh healthy halal food. My wife put this burger joint equivalent to In n Out if not better. They are fresh and never frozen, and they make it fresh in a clean enviornment. If only American fast food chains would live up to something like this. It is worth the drive for me from san diego just to eat there. |

When you read the mission of this website you understand my review. The places we go to should not just be Halal only it should be Halal and great testing. After reading the previous reviews I had a little suspicion about the place. I thought to myself these reviews could be written by the owner or his employees. I was fasting and it was getting close to sunset. I decided to drive about 90 miles, San Diego to Orange County, for this place. I was determined to eat there. When I got there I greeted the owner with Salam and he returned my Salam. I asked if they have any soup to break my fast and unfortunately they did not. But the owner offered me some dates. Then I asked if there was a place for me to pray and he offered his back room for me. Now comes the tough part. I put an order for my friends and I. We ordered three kinds of hamburgers and two different ones for to-go. The hamburgers either came by itself or a combo, fries and a drink. The hamburgers were awesome. There were worth every mile I drove and every penny I spent. The service was very friendly and the owner was very sincere and hospitable. For me I love two things, I love to design airports, hence the name, and I love food. I love to cook and eat and I know a great hamburger when I taste one. I recommend this place to every Muslim and especially with kids who like hamburgers. The prices were very reasonable and I can not wait to go there again.

The Coke from the serve-yourself machine was perfectly fizzy. I was very impressed overall.
