Vying for the title of 'Curry Capital of Britain' with Birmingham, Manchester, and London, West Yorkshire - and Bradford in particular - has perhaps more curry houses per capita than anywhere else on the British Isles. Start with over-the-top extravaganzas like Mumtaz Paan House and chains like Akbar's and Aagrah which cater to an increasingly affluent clientele. Contrast that with the hole-in-the-wall places you never knew existed, such as Chach Valley and Charco's. You also won't just find halal markets here, but halal supermarkets such as Al Halal. Plenty to eat in sight of the old mills and the Yorkshire Dales.
