★★★☆☆ Went there once per a recommendation. Buffet had plenty of variety but food wasn't hot. Taste was okay I guess but midway through the lunch, there was a big fat cockroach on the table. Moved tables and we did finish the food though I definitely lost my appetite. Never going back again! Posted on June 27, 2016 |

★★☆☆☆ Everything is halal according to wait staff. Nice decor, comfortable seating, upscale looking place. But the food...greasy and no real taste. Not visually appealing food either. But it is a buffet and you can eat as much as you want... Posted on December 8, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ Food was pretty good. I didn't feel like they had a huge selection, but we were happy to have some Chinese entrees with something besides seafood in it. Place was nice and clean. Expensive though. $34 for two adults on the weekend. Not worth it in my opinion. Posted on May 25, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ The food in this establishment is by far the best Chinese Cuisine in Metro Detroit. The ambiance is great as well. Plenty of seating and open spaces with a convenient location at the Fordlaine Mall. The reason why I gave an average rating is due to the fact that pork and liquor is also sold here. The owners are not muslim either. The price is a bit steep but expected for the quality of food. Posted on April 18, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ The halal sign is in the window and when asked they alway say "halal, no sell pork." We ate from the take out menu and it was good. Careful what time you go for the buffet because they charge different prices for different times and it can get expensive. Posted on August 27, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Variety of chinese dishes. Owners confirmed everything is halal. The place is huge and you'll be lost deciding what to eat! Posted on April 8, 2008 |

★★★★★ I have eaten here scores of times. All the staff are helpful and the food is DELICIOUS. I disagree with others who say they won't buy from places that have non-halal food as well. I am of the opinion that if people of the Book, are willing to cater to our needs, we should be supporting that kind of mentality. I expect Muslims to have only halal food in their stores and restaurants, but it is wonderful when non-Muslims include us in their business model, and we should encourage it. ★★★★☆ This was a good halal Buffet I went to. Since I got kids it gets a little pricy, but depends who you get as a waiter. Some charge you cheap, some charge you ful. As for Pork, there's only one dish that I remember, and it was Pork Chops. Besides that, if you have an issue with Seafood, like some muslims I know do, then you might not like it. But other than that, they got a good variety of food to try and enjoy. Wish they had good veriety in Soups, and Desserts. Posted on October 16, 2006 |

★★★★☆ Pork products being an issue.
I love their honey chicken dish. It is the BEST!
A bit suspect about cooking with pork! Posted on August 2, 2005 |

★★★★☆ I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. We ate and ate (vegetarian and seafood dishes. I didn't notice a bar, but was dismayed to notice that they serve pork (despite their prominently posted halal sign). The thought of the same serving dishes being used for pork as for the other dishes didn't bother me as they will have been washed - what did and does is the thought of the **same wok** being used - the cooks may think that it is good enough to simply use halal meat and not realize that they have to use separate cooking pots for this and pork. I don't know why they would even bother making pork dishes since a large percentage of their customers, this being Dearborn, are Muslim. I'm sure that the non-Muslim customers would not miss the pork dishes. Another big drawback: **MSG in the food.** The manager was able to point out for us what didn't include MSG - the seafood, deep fried and rice dishes. But still - enough people have bad reactions to MSG that they should leave it out altogether. Posted on July 23, 2005 |

★★☆☆☆ Remember the plates used for serving has been used for serving pork also, as well some dishes that are not halah in the buffet does not say so - you may want to think twice. Posted on November 12, 2004 |

★★★★★ Amazing! I went here last week and couldnt have been more impressed. The food was some of the best I've ever had! I used to love Chinese, but recently stopped eating it because I felt uncomfortable with a restaurant that cooks pork and other non-halal food along with the seafood and veggie options I would choose. This restaurant does serve pork and also had a bar, which did made me uncomfortable, however these items seem to be unconnected with the halal food. I was somewhat discomforted by them serving pork and alcohol however, especially since the buffet bar doesnt have any special signs telling what's halal and what's not. We spoke with the manager who told us the Chicken & Beef were halal, so that's what we had. The food is absolutely amazing, and the service couldnt be better. The atmosphere is also VERY nice. I really enjoyed the food, however if you're truly halal and not just regular meat looking for lunch, it's hard to feel comfortable knowing pork is cooked there, and looking at the bar the whole time. For this reason I believe it may be owned by a non-muslim trying to capitalize on the Very Large local muslim population here. Posted on July 6, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ we went and also liked the food...but we think many a times people can be mistaken with for example the soups ..when i opened one of the dumplings it had a different knd of meat and i asked the waitress what it was she just told us not to eat that it was not for muslims...the owner therefore should put a certain sign on the buffet cards on each dish saying it is halal...so that no muslim should feel sick just thinking that he or she just took a bite of pork or anything haram for that matter...
i would also ask some authorities to consider having an investigation done to make sure muslims are not just being lured in by the sign in the window...
a sign in the window does not make the food halal...
we have decided not to go there again till there is some confirmation from some muslim organization of the authenticity of the place serving halal food.nor are we recomending it to our friends after the soup incident.
besides ..i will not eat anywhere that serves pork side by side my halal food.,if it is halal that is!! Posted on March 5, 2004 |

★★★★★ I went to this place after reading their Ad
in the Muslim Observer newspaper stating they server halal meat.
There was also a sign in their window in Arabic stating
Halal meats. My friends told me they have asked the manager
who showed them a certificate. Please ask to see
the manager for halal authencity so they are also
encouraged that their conversion to halal meats is paying off.
Also the mamager can show you what 'NOT' to eat
from the buffet table.
The buffet is superb with lot of chicken, beef and sea food
dishes. several salads, sushi bar and dessert options.
The place is elegant and the weekday cost for lunch buffet was approx. $10
Dinner buffet is $12-13. Weekends and holidays is $16.
But you get your money's worth. Posted on December 19, 2003 |
