★★★★☆ This place needs an updated review! We went here for my birthday recently and upon arrival we noticed that the place was empty except for us (2 other groups eventually came). The restaurant was really nicely decorated, they had the lights dimmed and overall it was a calming atmosphere.
My friends and I weren't sure what we wanted and some of them were even skeptical as to whether or not the food would even taste good but we all ended up ordering something. I ordered the Lowand Chalow which was incredible!! It was so creamy and delicious and every single one of my friends loved their dishes as well. Our waitress was really nice and whenever our glasses ran out of water she would immediately give us a re-fill. The only creepy thing though was that the owner was sitting in the corner the entire time just watching the guests but other than that it was amazing! I'll definitely be back!
MOST IMPORTANTLY: I tweeted them asking if the food they served was halal and they replied back saying yes, however, they do serve alcohol so thats a bummer Posted on January 12, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ Average food, not a place you would like to visit twice. Posted on July 18, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ nice place, but food is not tasty. The kebabs are not well spiced. Posted on February 10, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ I've been here twice..overpriced, food is too oily, and they charge you for a refill of any cold drinks, charge for white sauces. Its a pain to get to. Posted on January 21, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ Just went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food is anything but authentic afghani. I found this place to be over rated and extremely expensive and would strongly recommend trying another place. Food portions were small and not at all worth the price. They even charged me for a small portion of Baklawa used as a birthday treat. I have been to a number of afghani restaurants and their food is no where close. (Tasteless I would say). ★★★★☆ Good food, small portions, but an interesting selection of dishes to try out. Their appetizers are some of the best. Posted on November 24, 2005 |

★★★★★ The food is very nice. The ambiance of the place is very nice. You can even request to sit on some of the tables where you sit on the floor. The food is expensive, but this is a place where you can take out some guests and not be embarassed. Posted on April 26, 2005 |

NR As-salaamu alakium, the food was very good here and the price was reasonable but...one thing angered me so much that I don't think I would come back here...I have always been told to 'double the tax' to give the tip b/c its about 15-16% so i did...it ended up around 9 dollars so i left 9...waitress chases us out hte door and says...please could you give me 2 more dollars!!! Also, you have to pay for white sauce..its not free Posted on February 27, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ This place is mucho dinero so get ready to pay. The food is pretty good but I have had better. Posted on December 8, 2004 |

★★★★☆ I had the fesenjan (boneless chicken), some barg (kebob with filet mignon) and the orange palow, which is half of a cornish hen. The meats were succulent and flavorful and I would go again! Posted on July 7, 2004 |

★★★★☆ This was definitely a nice place. Excellent food, prices for entrees ranging from 12-17 bucks.
They do sell alcohol here. Posted on June 22, 2004 |

★★★★★ I really enjoyed the food at Bamiyan. I ordered the curry shrimp, which did come with salad and I also enjoyed the rice! The curry was the best I've ever had, the service was great, and the owner was also very pleasant. I'm definitely going back! Posted on April 20, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ We discovered this Afghani restaurant purely by accident. Not surpising to find it was halal though as it's very near to the indian area on 28th and Lex. Food was really tasty, grilled meat dishes were awesome but not accompanied with any salads or sauces and although the rice was delicious and spicy, the dishes themselves were dry and boringly displayed. Weeks later, we ordered take-out and found a hair in the food. That put us off completely. Shame though, cos the dolma and the lamb chops are the best I've ever tasted. Posted on August 23, 2003 |

★★★★★ Definately good food. One of the best Persian food places in town. Serving portions are a bit less than most Perisan restaurants in the city, but still enough to fufill you. Good service, pretty prompt about getting to you. A bit pricy. Place might not look halal once u walk in since they have a bar and a wine list. But all of their menu is halal. If you are lucky, u can get one of the traditional seats by the side street. Posted on July 6, 2003 |
