★★★☆☆ We've been here on two occasions and had vastly different experiences. It's the only zabihah restaurant that comes up between my husband and my home, and his family's, so we've stopped by both times we've done the road trip.
The first time, we ordered the lamb kabab and (I think) the grilled chicken plates from the a la carte menu, along with a mango lassi. Everything was terrible! We left there feeling like we'd wasted our money and wanted to give this place a one star review.
Reading the reviews here more carefully, however, we decided to try some other things. The second time we went, we got the Mediterranean burger and the gyro wrap -- what a difference! Both plates were incredible and we left totally satisfied. Would have given this visit 4-5 stars.
Both times, we went on a Sunday mid-late afternoon and the service was great. We didn't get to talk to or ask the owners directly about the halal/zabihah standing of the food (went here based on the zabihah.com status), but they DO serve alcohol.
Rated this 3-stars from averaging the two visits. Posted on May 20, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I am sorry to say that i was not thrilled at this restaurant! Improvement in the recipes of the food will help, InshAllah. But, the workers are nice there, Alhamdullilah! Posted on February 12, 2012 |

★★★★★ I've been to this restaurant on several occasion as it is the only halal place in the middle of no where. No complaints at all, food is up to par every time. I get the Mediterranean Burger -Amazing. Posted on October 23, 2011 |

★★★★★ Came here September 2011 during our vacation. This place is 6 out of 5 stars. We ordered the kabob platter with one chicken skewer and one ground beef skewer. I personally had the Mediterranean ground beef burger without the BBQ sauce. Let me say the burger tastes so good and fresh. Also portion size is generous. You cannot go wrong if you come here if you are in the desert. Posted on September 15, 2011 |

★★★★☆ My wife and I went there when we were on vacation in June 2011. Good clean place owner is really nice. Just check if everything is Halal that day sometimes they can't get certain meat. Posted on June 27, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ I went over to eat at Kabobz with ten other muslim friends of mine back in late October before departing to go on hajj and I had heard rumors this place was serving alcohol and warned my friends about this. I was not completely sure and since sadly this place is the ONLY halal option to eat out in the Coachella valley of more than half a million residents I had little choice. Upon arriving they did indeed serve alcohol to my disappointment. We were there so we still ordered the food and the food was amazing however I DO NOT think this place should be currently listed as "Halal" like any other place of it's kind that serves alcohol in Zabihah. By definition muslims to sell or give alcohol to other muslims or non-muslims is haram:
Selling and Buying:
Hadith - Al-Tirmidhi #2776, Narrated Anas ibn Malik(r.a.)
Allah's Messenger(sallallahu alaiyhi wasallam)cursed ten people in connection with wine: the wine-presser, the one who has it pressed, the one who drinks it, the one who conveys it, the one to whom it is conveyed, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who benefits from the price paid for it, the one who buys it, and the one for whom it is bought. Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.
There is much other prohibitions on it in the hadiths & Qur'an. You only need to research it further.
Muslims should be responsible and not tempted by monetary gains in selling alcohol as it leads to harm in others and we are responsible for what happens to these people in which it gets served to.
Muslims who operate restaurants that do not serve it, are proven successful in the here and hereafter.
For now I need to rate one star until things change. I hope the muslim owners might think about this review and make their restaurant as halal as it can be and set a good example for other muslims and people living in the area insha'allah. If so I will highly recommend this place for their amazing food to as many people as I know. I also hope other muslims living in the area will also consider making their businesses as halal as can be too. It is really needed as there so little out here despite good size muslim population present in the valley. Posted on January 25, 2011 |

★★★★★ I took the time to register on zabihah, just because I wanted to leave the owners a great review. Our family went to Palm springs on a quick get away, we wanted to have halal dinner somewhere. to my surprise I found it on zabihah. We went that very night. The owners are Muslims, and the food was excellent. Everything we ordered was fresh and the presentation was great. Which is Something, I have to say i did not expect. The Falafel were one of the best I have had. The Burgers are amazing! My kids devoured them up. My husband had the 2 skewer plate, and loved it! I cant say enough of this place. we may start to come out to palm springs more, just so we can have dinner here!!! May Allah bless them Ameen! Posted on April 4, 2009 |
