★☆☆☆☆ I have been a patron of Asian Spice for many years-have actually craved their food. I placed an order today for pick up. After picking it up and driving home (to Newton) I realized that they had given me the wrong item. I called the restaurant and spoke to the server and told her that it was wrong and I wanted it replaced for which she agreed. I stated I could not come back immediately but would return in an hour.
Once I arrived I was greeted by the owner/manager and explained that I was there to pick up the food. I brought the incorrect dish back as proof. The manager argued with me, denied that I had actually ordered anything that day while the server there did not say anything. I explained the situation again and again and was met with denial and accusation that I had brought back old half eaten food to the restaurant( it was less than 2 hours old and not half eaten).
It was not until the waitress finally spoke up, acknowledged that I had placed the order and the error that had been made that thhe manager begrudgingly acknowledged that it was a mistake on their part, refused a refund (because by that time I really wasn't interested in eating their food) but did concede to giving the correct dish.
I actually have to say I felt humiliated by this experience-she made me feel like I was a low life thief for virtually 12$ worth of food. I was actually in tears by the end of this. I told her this was very poor customer service and was pretty much told that I don't have to eat there anymore (which I won't).
I have never met a person that rude in my life and I understand the waitresses hesitation to come forward (for fear of being chewed out). I hope this owner reads this and all the other reviews out there about her as it seems that she is a big problem to the success of this place.
WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!!! Posted on April 26, 2014 |

★★★★★ Went for dinner last night with my friends. Delicious food with very unique flavour. Even though the restaurant was full house we got the food on time and we got full service . Excellent service amazing food and very clean environment . Plus great music. Posted on October 19, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ the food here is okay....I tried a few dishes there and the chow mein had no taste at all. The house chicken I think that is what it was called is pretty good. The waitress was really dude and was pretty much forcing us to give a tip... Posted on December 2, 2011 |

★★★★★ I am one of the most regular customer, coustomer service, the aromatic yammy food attracted me to go there again and again...ONe has to know how to eat before even commenting on anything. If you know how to critiuq a food, or how to taste with open mind not just sticking to same old routine of ur daily meal then you would find asian spice amazing...if your one of kind who picks on every little detail..then your out of your luck and dont even bother talking about it....Each entree has a distinct flavour, each and evry spice and their collaboration makes it an unique cuisine which many of us thrive to have. Oily???if you order anything deep fried than get this in your brain...its going to be oily....ok..Lots of variety with very affordable price range. Atmosphere is like i m eating in my house. Step in to asian spice then they will show you a wonder of food world looks like where different spice brings out different taste of varouis dishes.....Rock on asian spice.

★☆☆☆☆ I had heard a lot abt this place and wanted to try it...drove from Vancouver to surrey to try out the food here...what a waste of time, money and appetite..and to make the things worse, I had a friend visiting me from Toronto...
My Rating (out of 10):
Food Quality (Oily): 0
Taste: 2
Ambiance: 6
Customer Service: 6
Pricing (as compared to the food): 2
So far, I have tried 3 Indian Chinese places in Vancouver...the best place for Indian Chinese food is Chili Pepper House (Vancouver), then second is Green Lettuce (Vancouver) and I WON'T try Asian Spice again...
Hope this helps for the rest of you to decide
