HALAL SUMMARY
The staff of this restaurant has verbally confirmed halal status. Only chicken shawarma is halal.
★★★☆☆ The last time I went there, there wa a lebanese brother working behind the counter, and he said that only chicken shawerma was halal. So I had their Chicken Shawerma sandwich. It was a very good sandwich But they close at 3pm, so you need to hurry right after Jumaah salat. Posted on August 20, 2012
★★★☆☆ We weren't sure if it was halal cause there was nothing visible but upon asking we were told everything all the chicken and meat was halal...although there was alcohol on the premises. Still there falalfel sandwich was ok as was their beef shawerma although it was oilier than I would have liked. Standard kabobs typical of the mid east cafe's in the US. Not outstanding but ok. ★★★☆☆ walking distance from the dawah center (walk to cabo's and take a left and it's on the right side right before you get to the train tracks). I tried the falafels, the chicken shwarma. I think the beef shwarma is not halal, ask the staff and they'll tell you. The food is ok - it's just nice to have another option downtown. Posted on May 20, 2009
