★★☆☆☆ Food was mediocre, service was slow. I ordered naan and they gave me a doughy pita bread. The biryani didn't have enough meat and was loaded with mixed frozen veggies that made it less authentic.
It had Hindu idols everywhere and they also serve alcohol. On the takeout menu it says halal and non halal available..hard to believe most restaurants can stay in business carrying both meats...so I think it may not be halal all the time..but I haven't verified..so you should check for yourself. ★★★☆☆ I came here because the description said full halal menu and no alcohol. However, the first thing I saw when I walked in was a refrigerator full of beer (and no, it wasn't those arab non-alcoholic drinks that look like beer). And I didn't see any halal signs anywhere, so I asked and was told that it was halal. When I went up to the counter to pay I noticed it was covered with Hindu idols. I can't really blame non-Muslims if they sell alcohol, but if you want a good Muslim environment this is not the best place (Idols, Alcohol, Indian music videos...)
As far as the food though; it was excellent. My wife and I both ordered from the Sri Lankan section of the menu. If I were judging by the food quality alone I would give a 5.
If the owners read this I recommend the following steps if you want Muslims' business: 1) Stop selling alcohol, perhaps the money you lose from that will be made up for with Muslim customers. 2) Don't display idols were people can see them. 3) Provide more assurance that the food is 100% halal. If you can get your restaurant certified as halal it will put to rest any suspicions people may have. Posted on August 21, 2012 |

★★★★★ I first experienced Sri Lankan food here at the advice of a expat co-worker. His recommendation was spot on. The food is superb. Try the Kothu Roti and the Rava Masala Dosa. Halal meat is available on request. Posted on September 9, 2005 |
