★☆☆☆☆ horrendous food. bad service.
Please avoid. Posted on September 14, 2017 |

★★★★☆ You should never expect fancy or very clean setting at a desi restaurant, however, the food and service was pretty decent. Good bbq, worth a visit. Posted on August 10, 2016 |
|
|
★★★★☆ Not the greatest ambiance but the food here is very good and the service is friendly. The owner is quite generous as well as he caters many Muslim community events at cost. Posted on July 23, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Great food and service. Mild and tasty dishes Posted on March 4, 2013 |

★★★★★ Really good restaurant.. clearly marked HALAL in front..most of the dishes are under $10.... i tried nihari with NAAN. It was not great but not bad either... NAANs were awesome... Tea was good too.
People complaining about sitting space should consider price they are paying for dishes as well..
Really nice and polite staff .. serving time was fairly quick even though it was a bit busy.. Posted on November 6, 2012 |

★★★★★ This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to for Pakistani food! Not only are the meals delicious (highly recommend the beef nihaari w/garlic naan!), but their service was extraordinary. The staff goes out of their way to take care of you and everyone is always so friendly. My friend and I ate here while passing through Vancouver and loved it so much that we went back the next day for lunch. I highly recommend this place. Posted on September 13, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ Our first visit to Vancouver driving from Seattle and we followed Zabihah.com's reviews to find a good desi place for lunch. We ordered chicken biryani (the waitress insisted we order this because no other biryani was ready), the mixed grill platter and haleem. Unfortunately none of the dishes were half decent, though I must add the biryani was the worst. Not sure how the place has so many positive reviews. However Pakistani mangoes from a nearby grocery store more than made up for the trip :-). Posted on July 16, 2012 |

★★★★★ A very good restaurant for Indian/Pakistani cuisine. Their goat biryani especially is amazing! The food is a little on the spicier side so if you can't handle that, be sure to let them know! Posted on May 28, 2012 |

★★★★★ Fast service and good food. Will definitely visit again. Posted on February 3, 2012 |

★★★★★ Sublime. If you just do not want to be bothered cooking at home, you know you will get great home-cooked taste here. And at relatively reasonable prices. The staff are fun and friendly, and very accommodating. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but that's really not the reason you want to go here anyways. Its the food. Have I mentioned how subliminally yummy it is? The naan, oh the NAAN. Posted on January 24, 2012 |

★★★★★ I miss this rest
they have amaizing LAMB KARAHY
now i am in Ottawa and i hope to visit Vancouver to visit this rest again Posted on September 2, 2010 |

★★★★☆ We ordered lamb korma with garlic naan which was good and a dish that had tandoori chicken, chicken tikka and kabobs which was extremely delicious. We liked how the owner served us quickly and how the place had an Islamic feel to it. We were also satisfied that the food wasn't too heavy unlike many other Indian/Pakistani places. ★★★★☆ food was excellent but they should improve the sitting area thats narrrow and congested. Posted on September 30, 2009 |
|
|
★★★★☆ Food is excellent and fast, service is good. Butter chicken they gave me was either the wrong dish or not at all what I expect (not creamy at all) but the food was good regardless. Posted on August 23, 2009 |
|
|
★★★★☆ their chiken tikkah is really good and appears the bring your food out on a steaming platter right out of the oven...the restaurant itself is pretty small and has a desi/maulvi/tableegi feel to it but seems to be popular and can't complain about the taste.. Posted on July 22, 2009 |

★★★★★ food is okay, not the best, and is very costly, their BBQ menu is probably worth the price... Posted on November 9, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ food was ok, not very tasty, the guy at the counter messed up our order, we wanted meat but he gave us veggie instead, so he did redo our order, but food wasnt that great. There isnt much of interior design in this place. Posted on July 5, 2008 |

★★★★☆ If you are craving for good Pakistani food (not Indian) then it is a place to go. Good lunch specials with decent quantity and prices. Food taste is very good. Parking is not easy to find in the area .... Also, the place is closed on Monday ... Posted on April 27, 2008 |

★★★★☆ We tried Nihari and Chicken karhai there. Karhai was ok but Nihari was excellent. Defintely recommend for someone who is looking for good Nihari place in Vancouver Posted on April 19, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ If you've ever had really good quality Pakistani cuisine, like in London, Birmingham, Manchester and other UK parts, then this didn't even come a close second or even third. If you are accustomed to your typical Indian/Pakistani restaurant as usually found everywhere, then at least this guy tries to be authentic.
Nothing to really write about, except that everything is pretty typical for this type of joint. Proprietor is a nice chap - but you might have to struggle if Urdu - Panjabi is not your first language.
I trust the guy enough to take his word it is halal. It is a pity the Fraser Street masjid has closed down, it was handy being just a couple of doors away.
The restaurant, despite being non-special does attract a good crowd, so is often full when a big party arrives - which isn't that difficult, as there are only a few tables. In those circumstances, it wouldn't in my opinion justify a long wait just to be seated.
Although I truly wish this restaurant the best of luck and good prosperity - if there ever was any real competition in the marketplace- it would never survive ( in its current format).
Vancouver, really needs good quality halal establishments. The vast majority close down soon after opening - there is no support from the muslim community, but i think things are changing, I sense we are going to see more good resaturants come on stream soon. We will then really be able to distinguish between those that are excellent, and those that are just chasing the halal dollar. Posted on August 26, 2006 |

★★☆☆☆ the food was very good. I'll admit that. But as for the service, a LOT of room for improvement. Even though the sign on the window says it closes at 9:30pm, they will stop serving you at 9pm (then shouldn't they change the window sign?). One day, we even went in at 8:30 and was told that they were full and I should have come at 7pm. Did not even offer take-out. Very rude and unfriendly service. Posted on September 12, 2004 |

|
★★★★☆ Good food in general. Env is so so. Kababs, Nihari and Biryani is awesome! Rest is kool enough. Posted on July 31, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ the paya is superb, but the biryani needs serious improvement...don't get it because its not worth it. people are nice and setting is ok. bathroom is very clean. Posted on February 27, 2004 |
