Bundu Khan was reported closed or not Halal 8 years ago Bundu Khan provides a great environment to eat on-the-go, relax and dine in, upgrade a typical office meeting or host that special event. We offer our customers a sophisticated blend of modern surroundings, terrific atmosphere and a friendly efficient service, combined with a menu that offers an outstanding choice of dishes and Bundu Khan specialties (not available any where else in the UK) such as Bihari Boti kebab with our very own tamarind sauce, not least our non-alcoholic cocktail bar serving the finest drinks. ★☆☆☆☆ The service was very very slow, our order was taken 30 minutes after we came into the restaurant (even though we were the only ones in there!!). When the waiter finally did arrive he insisted on taking drinks orders only, even though we knew what we wanted to order! So we had to order drinks and then wait for a further 10 mins to order our food. When the drinks arrived, my experience at this restuarant only worsened - the waiter forgot to bring some of the drinks out so I had to remind him twice, when I finally got my mojito mocktail it was watered down and had SPRITE in it (???) instead of real lime juice and soda. We also asked for fresh fruit juice (which has an additional cost), but I actually saw the waiter pour out standard juice from a carton and add fruit bits at the top of the glass to make it appear as though it had been freshly made in a juicer (hardly!).
The food was below average - Sabzi Kebab starter actually made me nauseous, I could only eat one bite; it tasted like mashed potatotes & carrots rolled into a fish-finger style breadcrumb coating and fried in oveused deep fat oil. The Fried Fish starter was overcooked and had definitely been re-heated in the microwave. The potatoes in the Palak & Aloo main dish were too hard and tasted like the ones you get from tinned baby potato cans (despite the menu stating that they were freshly boiled), Chicken Biryani was standard, and the Naans were hard and crusty. I love spicy food and have a high tolerance to spice in general, but even I found that most of the dishes were far too spicy (perhaps they do this deliberately - an attempt to numb your tastebuds so you don't actually realise how bad the food really is!).
The only plus point I can think of was the decor/ internal side - the restaurant was very spacious and the seats were comfy... but sadly even these positives were ruined by the accompaying bad atmosphere in the restaurant - they were playing sme very depressing/ sad songs; we asked them to change the playlist twice and they responded by turning the music off completely. Also, the entire place smelt like cigarette smoke. I told the waiter about this and he did respond by spraying some air freshener, but this only alleviated the smell temporarily.
The location of the restaurant is convenient but the bad food and slow service is simply unacceptable; I'd rather travel a bit further away to have a pleasant dining experience. We had a large party of 15 people and spent around £16-19 per head, but we were all greatly disappointed by the service and food. Will not be returning to Bundu Khans!!! Posted on January 20, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ Shameful! Meal was mediocre, drinks tasted watered down and the staff hover over you to usher you out. The worst part of the experience were the hidden charges for items not ordered. Service is not delivered with pride but rather with arrogance.
Absolute nightmare and do not recommend. Posted on November 24, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ Slow service, despite there being plenty of staff. Food was ok, although some of it was swimming in too much oil. Posted on April 19, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ I must say I despair. Bundu Khan for those who know has a brand name in Pakistan albeit one which has slid down the scale in recent times. The service at this restaurant is truly shocking. The numerours requests for orders were ignored. Customers either side of our table were served in a very haphazard manner. It was a case of he who complained loudest would be given their orders first. The positives I can list as being the establishment being in a good location and the food was alright when it eventually did come out but counter that with the service I will unlikely be returning here in the near future. NR I have not eaten here, but I did call and ask about the alcohol situation. They allow alcohol on the premises though they do not sell it themselves. This contradicts the "Alcohol Free" claim. Posted on January 19, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ The food here is nothing like the Bundu Khan's in Pakistan. Service is bad, food is below average.
I will not go there again. Posted on June 8, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ Nice interior which is a welcome surprise in what is not the nicest street in London. Food was great, but the place really lets itself down because of the poor service. Posted on April 26, 2009 |
