In the heart of Toronto, we created a Moroccan atmosphere, which through its traditional themes, colours, scents and flavours, transports you to far away Morocco. Added on November 14, 2012 and last updated 11 years ago
★★★★★ Last night my family and I went to this newly opened Moroccan restaurant on Danforth Avenue. The moment we walked in we were enthusiastically greeted and seated. The décor of this place is truly Moroccan. It immediately reminded us of Morocco when we visited that country in 2000. We ordered Beef Tagine and Lamb Couscous. While waiting for the food, we had mint tea; it came in the traditional Moroccan silver tea pot and those tiny glasses. Then two kinds of olives followed (never tested such nice olives). The food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed both the beef tagine (served with very soft fresh bread) and the lamb with couscous. The service was excellent! Every so often they checked with us to see if we need anything (it’s the kind of check-up that is non-intrusive). The price is very reasonable. We were so full that we did not have room for dessert. Next time I intend to leave some room to taste the Moroccan pastries. We all loved and enjoyed the food, the service, and of course the atmosphere. We will definitely go back to Marrakech Restaurant very soon! I cannot wait to try the Couscous Royal which is a mixture of chicken, beef, and Merguez (I asked and I was told that Merguez is Moroccan sausage). Posted on November 19, 2012
