The owners of this restaurant are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status. From the management: 'The Chicken is Halal, at all of our locations. We have one halal beef at our SQ1 mall Location. both the chicken and beef at our SQ1 mall come from the Butcher Shoppe, all stores should have certificates, they might not be up to date all the time, but the contact info is there, if anyone would like to call the halal supplier. you can also call the butcher shoppe directly.'

NR There is only halal chicken and there is doubt of cross contamination Posted on April 27, 2015 |

NR I went there last night, only chicken is halal but they prepare both beef and chicken using same utensils and on the same grill. So I will pass on this joint. There are other complete halal offerings in To Posted on February 18, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ the staff told me only the chicken burger is halal and I could order it in any combination. The burger was barely so-so, nothing to match with the price tag exceeding $10. I would suggest going to a diff burger joint. Posted on January 31, 2013 |

★★★★★ This place was formerly known as Craft Burger, but is now known as Big Smoke Burger. The owner, Mustafa Yusuf, is muslim. I have been to the 50 King St. EAST and Eaton Centre locations and the staff assured me that only the chicken is halal. I tried it out in the Big Smoke variety and it was amazing. I'd recommend getting that. Definitely amongst the best burgers I've ever had! Posted on November 15, 2011 |

★★★★★ The halal chicken burger is very good! As others have mentioned, this place is partially halal, and those feeling uncomfortable with halal should probably eat elsewhere Posted on May 17, 2010 |

NR I went to Craft Burger when the beef was halal about a year ago. It was AMAZING and probably the BEST BURGER I have ever had.
When I went, the staff were not Muslim so they do not know what halal is.
We recently e-mailed Mustafa (the owner - who seems really nice) again to confirm and he indicated that the beef is no longer halal but the chicken is.
Issue: When restaurants are partially halal you accept the risk that the ingredients can change at any moment and the owner (who has never advertised "halal" in the first place) does not have the onus to tell you the menu changed.
Solution: In cases like this you always ask what is halal before you order until you build a relationship with the owner so that they would tell you if their menu has changed.
Maybe Mustafa can maintain a mailing list to individuals who like Craft Burger and want to be kept up to date about what is halal. Posted on November 3, 2009 |

NR I am not sure what part of the menu is halal. There is no information on the website. I emailed the owner in January to recommend that he consider using halal meat for all the burgers but he never responded. :( The food sounds good but I don't feel comfortable eating "partially halal". NR Only the Chicken burger at the King St. location is halal. Posted on February 20, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ The Yonge St. Location is not halal anymore so I would assume that the this location is not halal any more either. I have not visited this one personally but will suggest to reconfirm halal authenticity before ordering. Posted on February 8, 2009 |
