★★★★☆ My husband and I along with three kids tried out Go Fresh today for a late lunch.
Most of the food was pretty good with some exceptions - which I'll details below.
What we liked:
The Naan (not greasy)
The Mango Chicken (Sweet, yummy sauce, not too spicy)
The Daal (not too spicy, a little on the plain side, but still warm and hearty)
The Rice (I think it's brown basmati rice - again not greasy or super oily)
The Jade Green Smoothie - EXCELLENT - better than whole foods in my opinion.
What Needed Tweaked:
The Keema Naan - I think there needs to be a bit more meat in there for all the bread.
The Chicken Tikka Kabob - it was good, but the marinade seemed a little on the dry side. The chicken tenders used were good on the inside and not over cooked - but the outside rub needs some tweaking a bit.
What We Didn't Like:
The menu says there is shawerma on rotisserie - but at the moment - they are needing to repair the machine - so the shawerma was basically grilled steak. Unfortunately, it was dry and charred in some places and not edible. I would wait on this one til they are able to make it properly.
The co-founder, however, was really nice and replaced it right away with something else at no extra charge.
The Hummus - we taste tested this - and all I could taste were mashed up chick peas - needs some spices, lemon and work. Depending on your idea of hummus, you may want to taste it first before ordering.
Halal Verification: I asked about the halal meat and the co-founder said he was more than happy to supply whomever is asking with the documentation of the farm he purchases his meat from. They've only been open 7 weeks - and aren't sure what they need to do for this yet in terms of a website like this one giving them verified status. But he is happily willing which I appreciated and was more than enough for me.
Environment: Really clean, modern, neat, and family friendly. It's not a huge place, but a nice sit down location. The music wasn't too loud, and there is a T.V. on one wall which I think was showing the news but on mute. (So grateful it wasn't attempting to create "culture" with something like inappropriate Bollywood videos)
Parking: Normal parking lot parking - it's located in a plaza next to Gold's Gym.
Wait Time: We were pretty much the only people there because we came during off-peak hours around 4pm - but the fresh food didn't take too long.
Staff: Being new, I think the front staff at the register is going to take time being able to answer all the detailed menu questions - but the co-founder who was there was really really nice, and spent time asking us about the meal, what we'd change, etc. I am really happy to see a Muslim who has the mentality of caring what customers think and wants to make them happy!
Smoothies: Just mentioning this again that they create completely fresh smoothies on site and the one I had which has all your greens like spinach, kale, celery, etc was better than a similar one I've gotten at whole foods.
I would recommend eating here, and I would come back again when I'm in the area.
They also have dessert, tea, chai, lassi, cocoa, soups, and a pretty large menu to choose from.
All in all - their goal is to make everything healthy and natural. Most Indian style places have too much oil/grease in the food and over kill spiciness that I feel sick after eating there. I didn't have any issues here. Posted on April 26, 2014 |

★★★★★ Wow. This place has fantastic Indian food! Not heavy, they seem to have really healthy and fresh ingredients. I got the chicken tikka masala. It wasn't too spicy, just enough fire. The taste was on point. The naan (flatbread) was warm and crispy. I washed out down with their date shake. A satisfying meal and at a great price. The chicken tikka masala and naan was only 6.95. I love how clean this place is and close to my house! I'll be coming back. Posted on March 12, 2014 |
