International Kabob House |
|
2707 Union Avenue, San Jose, CA 95124
Since opening the International Food Bazaar grocery and halal meat market in 1979, our family has always taken pride in our dedication to customer service and fresh locally-grown produce, fresh meats, and unique spices. Opening a restaurant to further highlight these priorities seemed like a natural progression for our family business, and the International Kabob House was born in February of 2009. Open 7 days a week, Sun-Thu 11am-9pm, Fri-Sat 11am-10pm. Added on September 14, 2009 and last updated 8 years ago

NR Got this message today on Facebook from HFSAA's Imam Tahir Anwar:
International Kabob House, located at 2707 Union Ave; Curtner Blvd, San Jose is NO LONGER HFSAA Certified, NOR IS IT HALAL.
They have gone under new management and they will be bringing alcohol as well as non-halal food. This change has already taken place, and so we urge everyone to share this message.
International Food Bazaar however is still HFSAA Certified, their fresh meat and chicken only. Posted on September 15, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ Is this food Halal? I know the owner is Christian, he owns the grocery store next door (International bazar) Posted on April 18, 2011 |
There is a clearly visible Halal sign in the window, though we will check again. |

★★★★☆ No longer carries alcohol. Hand made chicken gyros, with homemade ingredients. Very spacious, and very delicious food. Nice location, and nice people. Owner helped out a lot during my visit.
Also, I believe they're certified by HFSAA now. That's what it says on their facebook page. Posted on February 5, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ First of all I would like to state that this place DOES serve alcohol, which really pissed me off because it is stated here that they do not. The service at this place was terrible, my husband and I were really dissapointed. The food, I cannot tell you how bad it was. If you know what real hummus tastes like, this is not the place for it. The kababs have way tooo much saffron in it, so if you don't like it or cannot handle it, i recommend to stay away from it. The greek fries aren't the best, i knew it was frozen from the way it tastes. I was craving lamb shawerma, and the menu made it sound like it was going to be super delicious, but when i got it it tasted bland and boring as if they just put the meat and some lettuce in it and just gave it to you. I am very dissapointed. I hope they can improve. Posted on February 18, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Went here for lunch and had the chicken pita sandwich with Greek fries. Everything was food. I especially liked the fries which had garlic and feta cheese on top. Service was good and the place has enough seating inside. The only thing is they do serve alcohol here. Posted on October 29, 2009 |

★★★★★ This place is wonderful. It was formerly Palms Restaurant and is I have received verbal assurance from the staff that the meat is halal and it is also printed on the menu that the beef, lamb and chicken is 100% halal. The staff is extremely friendly and the service is great. The setting is very neat and clean and the food is delicious. They also have unlimited complimentary tea. You definitely need to go here !!!
