★☆☆☆☆ Me and couple of friends went there to eat once for an hour drive and resturant was suppose to close by 3:00pm ... we reached there by 2:40pm. Person said you can't order anything like BAR-BE-QUE .. only Salan dishes and you have to be done before we close at 3:00pm .... out of door ... so order take home. We didn't eat there. ★☆☆☆☆ I would strongly discourage you from trying this place if you are a desi or if you love the spicy blend of good Pakistani food. The environment may have been pleasant, but the food most certainly was not; it actually replicated the experience of hospital food. From the bland taste of the chicken curry to the so-called biryani, the only thing this place has to its credit is the naan, which is made to order. The atmosphere was friendly with us being the only desis (I wonder why). Hey, you live and learn - the hard way. Posted on October 17, 2004 |

★★★★★ I was in S.F. for the day and found this place on zabihah.com, so I tried it out. I was assured that all of their meats were halal. The food was delicious. The space was open, clean, upscale, and urban. The service was friendly and efficient and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to eat there again. ★★★★★ We checked out this place last weekend and it truely was amazing. The owners seemed very friendly, unlike some other indo/paki joints in the bayarea. Of course, the food was reasonably priced and very delicious as well. It's nice to finally see halal places with the modern and contemporary look. Good luck and best wishes to Rotee!!!! ★★★★★ This place is a jewel! Great fresh food, lovely atmosphere, wonderful service and on top of that- it's ridiculously inexpensive... I can't stop bragging about this place. You have to go find out for yourself. I am sure you won't be disappointed. My favorites are The Karai's, Kebabs, and the specials (Haleem, Nihari...) *yummy Posted on August 4, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Rotee, a welcome addition to the Lower Haight stretch provides decent desi food, at reasonable prices. The pleasant staff are welcoming; the decor and ambience, excellent! Posted on August 3, 2004 |

★★★★★ Beautiful place, exellent food. Their prices, menu and business model is similar to Shalimar (free tea etc), but the atmosphere and presentation is top class. They even have posters of some of the cheesiest 70's Pakistani films in a very hip setting. My favorite dishes so far are okra, lamb biryani, aloo keema and lamb curry. Very polite and friendly owners and staff. Posted on May 17, 2004 |

★★★★★ Great food - Try the lamb kebab and chicken saag (all halal meats). Also their naans are big and generally portion sizes are generous. Also prices are great. I have been going to Shalimar and Pakwan for a long time and I think the food at Rotee is just as good (if some things not better). Plus the atmosphere is great (my clothes don't smell after I leave the restaurant). Posted on May 17, 2004 |
