3123 Clement Street, San Francisco, CA 94121
El Mansour, established in 1976, has enjoyed a recent move next door from its original location on Clement Street in the Richmond District. We offer traditional Moroccan food. It is very important to us to serve homemade high quality ingredients. We make our own bread, sauces and phillo dough on a daily basis. Added on July 21, 2002 and last updated 3 years ago

★★★★★ I have been going to El Monsour for 6 years and will never stop going. I have introduced this restaurant to so many friends and family members who are now officially addicted! The food is WONDERFUL! The atmosphere is one of a kind and the belly dancing is fun entertainment. To comment on the woman who said the hostess was all over her husband, Get a clue lady! The hostess is married to the host, they are the owners! Very nice ans professional people! I am VERY picky about my food and so are my friends, This place is a MUST! Posted on September 29, 2004 |

★★★★★ To the person who wrote about the hostess at el mansour restaurant should be ashamed to say something like that. I'm a regular customer of el mansour. never once the hostess charmed my husband or anybody in the restaurant. You should know that her job to be polite with the customers. i do think she is a beautiful hostess and may be you are to protective of your husband. By the way the dancers at el mansour are just gorgeous. The food is to die for. My husband and I brought so many customers to el mansour. All our friends just loveds it.
Th hostess doesn' know me but I just felt that was a lie. Posted on May 31, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ assalamualeikum brothers and sistas: I love this place I went 1 time with my flia and never came back becouse the hostes who is a morocan female was all over my husband and his brother stafurula Adin but they have an american belly dance who pop out like a genie from a botle and we left our order of food there. This place is beutifull but no good for religios people especialy if your husbans or brothers are shine the hostes do not wear veil and she pretend to be french congratulation to the rest of the people very polite and make you feel at home if was not for the female hostes and the belly will be better. ★★★☆☆ This place is definitely not in a good neighborhood, but the service and show was fun. Yes, the lamb is only zabiha. Everything was good but the lamb. Posted on October 24, 2003 |

★★★★★ "PLACE: From the outside, you see a flickering neon sign reads, ""El Mansour."" Once you open the door, however, you feel as if you're in a tent in the Sahara desert. The entrance foyer is small, but coated in arabic style tapestry and rugs. As you peek through the drapery into the main hall, you see persian-rugs covering the entire floor, on top of which, are small circular tables with patterned inlaid wood. Small and colorful cushions are used instead of chairs on the inside of the room, while low-rise couches with arabic embroidery line the walls. Your eyes move up the walls that are covered in arabic tapestry to the ceiling which has this sheet pinned up to the ceiling by hanging lanterns -- all giving you the effect of having walked into a tent. The place is lit only with these hanging lanterns and single candles on each of the small tables, which gives this place a relaxing ambience. I wondered where the utensils were until a Moroccan waiter came and poured water over my hands before bringing me the first course -- at which time I realized that all the food was to be eaten without any utensils. As the music got louder, the belly dancer, named Asia, danced into the room and waved and spun herself to the Arabic music. FOOD: The food wasn't bad, but maybe too... 5th century. It was simple, but proved have more filling than taste. SUMMARY: Go to this place mainly for the atmosphere." Posted on January 29, 2003 |

★★★★★ "Only the lamb is zabiha here, but it is served 10 different ways, all very good (and I don't really like lamb). This melts in your mouth. Step inside a magical romantic dining area, where you will be served an incredible 5 course Morroccan dinner. This is a great place to go as a couple, very relaxed. you will feel like you are in Morocco. Bellydancing at 8 and 9, so go late, but kitchen closes at 10. **PS: The bastilla is the 2nd course - it is chicken, so be sure to tell your waiter to substitute something instead."
