★★★☆☆ Clean and plenty of seating. Good to bring friends and family here. A variety of things to choose from the menu. My husband and I have also tried their lunch buffet, totally worth it. The food is average, but still tasty. Nothing is spicy...according to Indian standards lol. Love the fresh hot naans! Posted on August 19, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ I've eaten here a few times (once with family, and other times invited for parties). No exaggeration- the food is terrible! Service is just as bad. No hospitality or generosity from the owner. Large amount of gratuity added to the bill. I would never take my family there again. Posted on December 25, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ Very very poor service. Greatly devastated by the food. I say you try Kabab N Chutney in SOUTH Sacramento.
THEIR KABAB ARE DELICIOUS, just went there today im so happy finally something good in sac Posted on October 21, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ Food quality has dropped considerably. Buffet is below par and food seems not fresh.
The only dish worth trying is chicken makhani.
I hardly go back to a place where I have been disappointed three times. Posted on May 17, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ I don't know were to begin with this restaurant I am giving this a 1 star even though it deserves a 2 just because the ratings are averaging to be much higher then they should be! The food is watered down and chicken bbq is usually raw in the middle! If I am going to pay for low quality food the least you can do is smile and give good service! Very disappointed and I am not basing this on one visit this is my experience over 5 visits in the past year! We realize most of the the business for this restaurant is catering but please make an effort to bring the quality to at least the poor quality of the catering! Posted on May 7, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ Visited with family and requested to turn music off but not happy with response. Left without eating.
Insha Allah, will not go again Posted on March 27, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ Wow. Horrible experience. Who eats here? Not me anymore.
I gave them a second chance but the food was worse this time. Ordered chicken karay and waited until it turned cold and THAT'S when I finally got the naan. The best part is that the naan was cold to match the food. Very smart thinking for the cook!
I think the chickens they use mut have been malnourished or just plain sick. It's GREAT food if you need to induce vomit.
Didn't wait for the chai, just paid and left.
If you plan on going here please think of the poor people overseas and donate to them instead... they'll probably get better food anyway.
Id reccomend Mehran instead. Posted on September 10, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ Ordinary food, actually below average.... customer service is very poor... Only people you see eating are non-desi, who don't know left from right when it comes to good Pakistani food. Posted on August 30, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ They need better customer service, the waitress got too much attitude. Food was okay if you eat more than one plate you'll proli get sick. Posted on August 15, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ I was not as impressed with this place as so many other people are. The food wasn't spiced as well and didn't taste as fresh as I expected. I was hoping this place would be on Shalimar or Pakwan in the Bay and it definitely was not. Posted on April 22, 2011 |

★★★★★ Catered for my sister's wedding reception. Mash'Allah, the owner was very good with working with us to ensure a good balance of menu items to allow for a variety of tastes. Excellent food and service, Alhamdulillah. Posted on November 13, 2010 |

★★★★★ I LOVE SHAZ! I have been east coast to west coast at various South Asian eateries, and I really have to say I love Shaz's food! And they have a great price for their lunch buffet that can't be beat!! Although it's a little tricky to find sometimes, it has ample parking and space for large groups. I really love Shaz and go there quite frequently! Make sure to stop in! Posted on September 7, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Went there for the first time and they have buffet for Ramadhan Iftar. Very nice restaurant with good food at a reasonable price. The location is kind of out of the way and secluded, but the food was worth it. Enjoyed the experience. Would definitely go back. Posted on September 7, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ Visited Sacramento 3 weeks ago and ate their. They are about 10 miles from downtown. Restaurant is big, with lots of parking, very clean dining area and clean bathrooms. But their food was not that good. Samosas and Seekh Kabab were good. Chicken Karhahi and Biryani was average. Surprisingly, in this age of Shaan Masalas, Nihari was very bad, not only it tasted bad, it was not even remotely close to a nehari. Posted on April 17, 2010 |

★★★★★ DELICIOUS. Just ate there for the first time today and it was so good I had to log on and write a review. This place is my new favorite halal restaurant in Sacramento. Everyone says Mehran is the best, but this place takes the cake. Very nice and pleasant atmosphere. Owner and staff were very respectable and the service was good. The food was amazing. We all left extremely satisfied. Highly recommend Shaz Restaurant. Posted on November 7, 2009 |

★★★★★ WOW, WOW, WOW.. FINALLY! an actual authentic pakistani zabihah halal restaurant in sacramento... Food was AMAZING.. everything is soo fresh.. u can tell this is not a 'Shan' masala restaurant. The quality of the food is better than my moms... so fresh.. no oily greesy curries.. amazing amount of space to hold weddings or parties.. customer service was excellent... owner is a wonderful sweet guy.. will definitly be coming here a lot more and recommending them to all of my friends and family! Unlike the other competition they also don't serve alcohol.. extra bonus... worth paying a little more for better quality food! keep up the excellent work! Posted on August 14, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ After hearing from my friends about this place, I decided to check it out. The menu said Wednesday Buffet is $8.99 and Sundey Buffet is $9.99, since I went on Friday, I figured it must be same as Wednesday, but I later found out when I was paying that I was charged $9.99. Regardless, everything on the steam table was cold, lacked proper spices and hence wasn't tasty at all. The only item that I enjoyed was the Mint Chutney with yogurt. I have been to quite some restaurants in the Sacramento area as well as the bay area, and this one will definitely go at the bottom of my list. Posted on July 17, 2009 |

★★★★★ Having Been on holiday to Sacramento visiting family, and desperately looking for some Halal food, a family friend recommended Shaz Restaurant.
As other reviewers have mentioned the location, unfortunately i cannot comment on this as I'm British and was paying no attention to the route we were taking!
So, on to the food..... we visited on a Wednesday afternoon... this turned out to be a good choice as there was all all you can eat buffet for a very reasonable $8.99! We were greeted by very friendly staff who sat us at our table, took our drinks orders and told us to dig in!!!
The choices of food included vegetarian, poultry and lamb dishes! dessert was also included! This was by Far some of the best food i have eaten in a long time!!! Dare I say on par with my Mums?!?!?!
Not long after i collected my second plate, the owner came along, asked us if everything was OK and if we needed anything else and we had a general chit chat.
all in all.... an excellent meal!!!
Its just a shame its about 10 thousand miles away from my house!!!
I wish i could just pick this place up and put it in my street!! Posted on July 11, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ came here with my husband on a recent trip to SAC from LA. we were the only 2 in the restaurant. decor is very nice and very huge to accomodate large parties. food was ok, but wayyy overpriced. as soon as the owner took our order, he went to his register to ring us up BEFORE putting our order in. shows his interests :). the chicken tandoori dish we ordered was $9 and came with 4 pcs of chicken- 2 drumsticks and 2 small pieces of what was supposed to be the thigh. wasn't tasty either. the lassi and milkshakes were $3 each and tasted OK. nothing spectacular. in the end, he forgot to bring us our kabobs and didn't forget to charge us for them (since he remembed to ring up the food before we were served!). he offered to get the kabobs packed to go, but since we were not impressed we declined and asked him to take off the charge. overall, we paid $50 for 2 drinks, chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala and palak paneer with 2 naans. i'd rather have eaten at cheesecake factory for that much $$ Posted on July 1, 2009 |

★★★★★ Went here today since we were in Sacramento. We wanted to go to east/west but they were closed. We also weren't too fond of Mehran's quality of food. So we found this place on Zabihah. We are usually disappointed by the halal Pakistani restaurants we try, but this place was an exception. Food, service, cleanliness, price and decor were all excellent. We will definitely be coming here again and recommend this place to all. Posted on April 17, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Wow. Finally a good quality halal Pakistani restaurant in Sacramento! Curries and tandoor items were both very tasty. We tried several different curries and they were all good quality, similarly with the mixed grill and chicken tikka. Fish pakora was also worth trying and popular with kids.
Update, went back and owner was very rude to us. As soon as we walked in she said "make sure kids behave well" even though kids were perfect last time (she was not even there). Then treated us as though we were trying to underpay. Very insulting and poor customer service.
I will go back because the food is good but only because there is very little choice in Sac for desi food. Posted on April 5, 2009 |
