NR Attention! Not Zabihah Halal Anymore.
I used to be a regular until 3 months ago. I went in today and was surprised that the Thai couple that ran it has apparently sold it. They had said they had a son in Thailand who they wanted to spend more time with so assuming they finally moved. The Halal sign is no longer displayed and the wait staff was clear that they no longer use Zabihah meat. really sad. Posted on September 27, 2014 |

★★★★★ Really delicious Thai food. I would go here anyday over Noodle Wave. There used to be another listing for this restaurant where I left a negative review but I can not find that anymore. It seems since then the chef has changed and they added sushi to the menu. Posted on August 31, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ Wow experienced the worst service of my life. when we walked in nobody asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar or at a table. no one even looked at us as we stood up for few minutes than sat our selves down at a dirty place available at bar. then for literally ten minutes nobody came to us or gave us the menu. a waiter asked people who were sitting on the other side of the bar but totally ignored us. when my friend got up and asked for menu the waitress said oh remain seated. we saw one table that got cleaned up and we moved to that table then the waitress magically could see again and said to us "oh this table is for the people who are waiting". I didn't see anyone waiting. After that we left and it was just one humiliating experience. I don't know about food we didn't try it but service sucked big time. Posted on February 15, 2014 |

★★★★☆ A good option for a nice sit-down restaurant with good ambiance.
Went for dinner, the coconut soup was good. The entrees were good as well, but the noodles were too sweet. I would try it again. Posted on September 1, 2013 |

★★★★☆ I am an avid food enthusiast living in DFW since 2000. I enjoy dining out with family and friends, trying new places and cuisine, and rating/discovering where to find best of a particular Zabihah & Halal dish/item within town.
Feedback for Zato Thai:
Setting: B-. Okay inside décor and arrangement, nothing that stands out.
Service: B+ Attentive staff.
Quality: B- Average is the word that comes to mind. We tried bunch of stuff, Tom Kha soup, pad thai, noodles, beef mangolian, etc.
Taste: B- Falls short as compared to Noodle Wave by a couple of sticks.
Price: B+. Compares to Noodle wave in terms of price.
Overall: This place is in Plano, closer to my home in Frisco as compared to going to Noodle Wave Dallas/Richardson side, or to Allen location. But I would prefer to go extra distance to Noodle wave locations, worth it. We wanted to try this Thai Zabihah place, it was okay. They certainly have more items (some exotic sounding dishes as well) on the menu as compared to Noodle Wave. Paratha was good, kids liked it.
I may visit this place once a year or two. Preferred place will remain Noodle Wave. Posted on November 21, 2012 |

★★★★★ I just tried this place last week and I was so surprised! Let me start off by saying Noodlewave is my favorite Thai place...nothing compares...UNTIL I WENT HERE. They have very similar menu items, but their flavors are a little different. The Thai Herbal Chicken appetizers wasn't as brown/crispy to the extreme like at Noodlewave, and the taste was VERY good. Highly recommend. Then I tried out the Pad Kee Mow (sp?) and it was SO tasty.
At the beginning of the meal I got a soup (it was lunch time), and it was so flavorful. VERY good.
Seriously - you won't regret going here. It's not a 'OMG i'm coming here everyday' place, but more of a 'OMG i'm definitely coming back to this place especially when i'm craving thai food and I don't feel like being a fool by going to noodlewave which has a crazy line out the door with an hour wait (aka a typical weekend night)'. ★★★★★ Finally a Halal Thai restaurant that I can take my friends to. Lovely decor, clean and modern dining area and friendly staff. The owners are very sweet and the Thai selections are very generous in portion and authentic in taste. I really wish there was a place to upload pictures (like Yelp). Our family has visited this place on numerous occasions and the service and food quality was consistent.
Don't be fooled by the Plano strip mall location, the restaurant is very modern and nice. Best of all it's Halal!
Some dishes to try:
Tom Yum soup, Big Bowl glass noodle soup, pad thai, curries and our favorite Basil Fried Rice. Posted on June 4, 2012 |
