HALAL SUMMARY
The staff of this restaurant has verbally confirmed halal status. They use zabihah halal beef, goat, lamb, and chicken.
★★★★★ The listing has a mistake at the time of this review with respect to the chicken. The chicken is certainly halal and I personally spoke to a manager to clear it up. The menu clearly says all meat is halal. To some of the workers (and perhaps customers), "meat" only refers to red meat, but in this context includes white meat (chicken). The manager said he would work to better inform the workers.
For the food, very casual and very delicious in a fusion format. Chicken mahhini in burrito form is brilliant. We had 3 different dishes and all were delicious. Posted on September 7, 2017
★★★★☆ The restaurant staff says the the beef and lamb are halal. I had a beef khatti roll (i.e., a qeema roll) and it was pretty good, albeit a bit greasy. The chai was too spicy and cinammony for my taste. I would definitely come back to this place because it's the best halal place I've eaten at on or near University Avenue. Posted on February 26, 2014
