★★★★☆ Place is good owner is really friendly when u actually get to know him! Prices are bit high! Overall very good experience Posted on March 3, 2015 |
★☆☆☆☆ Don't even bother with this place. The owner is a complete asshole with no customer service skills. Makes a face for everything, makes you feel like he is doing you a favor for everything. AND most of all his prices are ridiculously expensive for even something as simple as a gyro sandwich! Also this guy bad mouths all the restaurants around him. Don't bother...promise you will be sorry if you go there. Posted on January 31, 2015 |

★★★☆☆ Service was okay, server was polite. Burger was average. More of a 3 1/2 stars but not a 4. Posted on January 11, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ Nothing special here at all ate here a few time now same burger with reasturant depot machine slaughtered meat. Noth going here at all anymore If im going to pay money I want food to be good otherwise Im better off making burgers at home. Posted on July 23, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ Worst service ever! Absolutely terrible. The Owner has no idea what customer service means.. Do yourself a favour and DONT eat there..' Posted on May 5, 2014 |

NR Owner is very RUDE and he has no idea how to treat his customers. Very slow service and if asked for one soda rather then two he makes a face and make u feel like u are cheap and buy one soda for two people rather then two soda.. Or even when u buy less food for more people he looks at u like with a weird face sarcastically comments on why aren't you ordering more ..basically stay as far away from this place as possible .. He criticize all the other halal place and says his food is the best .. But it's not the best place I have been .. First time I went there I knew right away that the guy had an attitude but I ignored it but when I went there again twice he has the same rude attitude so my friends stay away .. No good .. ★★★☆☆ I have been coming here for years. Sometimes i would skip a month or two only for the reason that the owners are rude and have no idea of how to be nice and respect a customer. Their food has become so so . Posted on December 16, 2012 |
NR Went there but the place was empty, no one was on the counter, which given an impression that this place is not liked by locals, however there is a decent halal place next to this pace which was busy! Posted on September 11, 2012 |
★☆☆☆☆ They need to step up there customer service. The guy is extremely rude. It's so sad that our own people treat us wrongly Posted on July 3, 2012 |

★★★★★ I have been going to this place for many years, since my college days. The owners have changed a few times but the quality of food has not changed. Infact, they have added new items and continue to provide great quality food as well as service. This place is excellent for a quick Halal bite for muslim students at CSUN as well as muslims working in the valley. I go all the way from Pasadena every so often with either my spouse or my friends. I recommend getting their Gyros or burgers. That is their pride. However, if you're open to a bigger meal, their afghani platters are also delicious. Posted on September 9, 2011 |
★★★☆☆ I tried this place and won't call it authentic Afghani restaurant. Its more like middle eastern type. Gyro is good but Afghan dish was poor. Posted on May 26, 2011 |
★★★☆☆ Salam everybody
Ok so I have been going here for a while and i gotta agree with the person 2 spots below me (JFK). The New Owner is horrible doesn't know how to treat costumers, so he just shouldn't be there at all. The Food was good when i first started going here. But it keeps getting worse every time i go and the prices keep going up. Less Meat more money?? Come on Posted on May 26, 2011 |
★★★★☆ They are good but not NEARLY as good as before the owners changed. I don't know what happened and can't believe you can tell such a difference in taste with these new owners. We used to love this place, and we still go to it once in awhile, but it's definitely lost it's magic. Still, good option to have if you're looking for gyros or burgers though. ★★★★★ Very good and tasty kabob and nice BIG portion. My favorite is the Sour dough GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWHICH . very nice because I only eat HALAL. Posted on December 21, 2010 |
★★★★★ We ate here a number of times, and love the food. We find that it's decently priced in comparison to other fast food places. We also like the service. Posted on October 22, 2010 |
★★★☆☆ You have to watch out for the owner, as another poster mentioned. he will nickel and dime you for little things, and i think the tapatio is mixed with water. Its kind of whack considering you can get a big bottle of taptio hot suace for under a buck. He always used try to charge me for hot sauce when i would get it to go. its like dude... im taking 15 cents of hot sauce... chill out.
Food is good. Owner is not so good. 3 Stars. Posted on August 6, 2010 |

★★★★★ Love this place. Great food and service. I like Chicken Afghani Kabob most and Chapli Kabob. they also make the Huge Afghani Nan. My kids love the food. Posted on March 5, 2010 |
★★★☆☆ Nice food. It is used to be owned by an Irani family which was pretty good as well but now It's owned by a Afghani brother so now you can find Afghani food as well. It's comparatively smaller place but they are competing effectively with others. Their Chapli Kabab is pretty good. Chicken Slowaki sandwich and Koobideh plate are also worth eating as well.
It's better to call them up front before going over there to save time. Posted on December 9, 2009 |

★★★★★ Great food ! I go there every often and can't believe I didn't write a review for them. I always eat the chicken Afghani plate here- it comes with hummus , pita , yellow rice , chicken shish kaboba and salaad.. Its very yummy!! ( I am feeling hungry again !!) Posted on October 26, 2009 |
★★★★☆ This place has great food.....I had the cheeseburger and Gyros and they were both great. The setting and service are both decent. You definitely need to try this place out. Posted on October 24, 2009 |
★★★★☆ Great burgers... and cheap!! Not much in the way of ambiance and owner is kind of rude as others suggest. But I don't care. I get the food to go and it's quick, yummy meal! I'll be back! Posted on October 7, 2009 |
★★☆☆☆ It's frustrating to find halal places like this that overcharge and nickel and dime you for everything. Come on, I highly doubt that double digit prices for burger combos is hardly reasonable. To make matters worse, the owner is very RUDE! The food is average. The service is sub-par and slow. In fact, the guy jacked my elderly parents multiple times without them even knowing! They would buy combos and not receive drinks! Gives us all a bad name. I wouldn't refer this place to anyone. Things were better with the original owner. Posted on August 1, 2009 |

★★★★★ Mash'Allah this place is amazing...definitely an oasis in a desert of haram. The new owners have introduced traditional Afghan elements into their menu taking this restaurant to the next level. Afghan food is delicious.
Judging from the reviews below, it seems as though some people may have had bad experiences with the owner...however, cultural miscommunication may have played a factor here.
I recommend everything except for the pizza, which is pretty overpriced. The portions are very big and definitely worth the money. Bisyar khus-mazah! Posted on August 1, 2009 |

★★★★★ mashallah, this is the best place to eat! the food was delicious and halal... may allah(swt) bless this restaurant for it has tasty food and great service. i was coming from irvine and i had gotten lost but brother salim had given me directions. the price is understandable now that the economy is bad. for those who say that gyro and pizza is not halal, i have one thing to say for you, allah(swt) will know i have seen the certifcates for the meat. it is zabiha halal and very tasty. my all time favorite is the gyro, chicken afghani pita, the lamb plate, and the gyro pizza with onions, bell peppers, and olives. i hope you too , brothers and sisters, will enjoy the halal meals as i have. ★★★★★ Mashallah may Allah (swt) bring His mercy and grace to your business brother and sister...for you have always given me my gyros that ...I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT...even is I fall short sometimes...TASTE IS ALMOST LIKE A HOME COOKING FROM HOME....great food and great service! ★☆☆☆☆ Food was really good. Unfortunately had a very bad experience with the owner. He was very rude and had an attitude problem. Will definitely not go to this place any more. Posted on March 27, 2009 |
★☆☆☆☆ Since the new owners have taken over the business, there has been an increase in price, and a decrease in customer service. The new owner name "Salim" is extremely rude at times to his customer and to his own workers in front of his customers. He has no clue of running a restaurant business which depends on customer service. I suggest not asking him any questions about his restaurant because he will end up throwing you out of his restaurant. He has no sense of hospitality. Many friends I have spoken with are disgusted with the owners attitude. He has no respect for sisters or older fokes. I advise him to change his attitude, or do not be an employee of your own business. Posted on January 29, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Now their pizza is the best item; make sure to get 'veggie' and 'pepperoni' (beef of course) mixed. Other great items include lamb tikka with rice and chicken tikka with rice. Sandwiches and gyros are good.
Service is very good. Brother & sister are both very welcoming and friendly. Posted on January 29, 2009 |

★★★★★ i love the swiss cheese chicken sandwich and the gyro meat. This place is awesome! Posted on January 23, 2009 |

★★★★★ ASA,this place is AMAZING. Forget 5 star i give them 10. I have never in my life tasted such wonderful food with an understandable price!!!!!
Not only do i get full but such flavor...and halal too!
I've seen some reviews left below mine that are negative and i dont agree, why shouldn't they charge for refills and extra sauce.lets face it , it's an expensive world out here and other fast food rest. they charge for extra sauce and refills so why shouldn't they. I come from a 2 hour drive just to taste the chicken afghani plate and more and i wouldnt go anywhere else. every time i have guests i always bring them to gyro pizza.Anyways this is the only REAL halal place for miles Posted on August 10, 2008 |

★★★★★ ASA, I'm very pleased with the service provided by this restaurant. prices haven't changed with today's inflation. Even if prices go up I will always come to this restaurant just to support our Islamic Society. having said that, I also have to say that evertime I come to this restaurant I always feel like home. the owner who I don't even know his name always greets me with a charmming smile. serviec is excellent and food quality is superb. as to the comments left by others, these days even Mc Donald charges for any sauce. nest time to go to a drive through to buy an ice cream from mc donald, pay attention to the sign about the charges on sauces for chicken nuggets. Posted on August 3, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ Definitely not coming back here again, until I see some change. The prices are not warranted. Charge for refills? $.50 for ranch? I know very few other Halal, or non Halal food places that do that. And I don't go back to those restaurants either. There are other Halal restaurants that will give 10 free refills if you ask. Not only the drinks are expensive, but the food as well. 10 dollars for a combo. Then they'll charge you for using your credit card? I mean honestly if the prices were reasonable they would have sooooo much more customers, and they wouldn't have to do that. It's true that the price of oil went up, but are they selling gasoline or food? I have no problem supporting Muslim businesses, but they have to support their customers as well. ★★★☆☆ Good food but really, really slow service. Guy is nice but doesn't smile much. I tried supporting in the past but I can't wait 20 to 30 minutes for a burger. Sorry. Posted on December 30, 2007 |
★★★★★ We go there regularly...atleast once a week.
The new owners are great and very friendly. Food is excellent and variety is getting better with the new owners. I don't know why other people complain about the prices.....look around you...gas prices have doubled over the past year - so it is only fair they have to raise prices to keep up with rising overhead. Every other business is doing it so why should a halal restaurant be any different. Be practical people before posting such false negativity about such a great halal restaurant!! |
★★☆☆☆ i wont go back here since they changed owners. prices were always high but food size and quality was great. they took the prices up and put half as much meat in. its insulting to the people who paid the extra all those years to support a good brother putting out a good (but expensive) product. do they really think a bunch of middle easterners and desi's wouldnt notice? old owner abdullah had a much better resturant and the service was great. not worth it. Posted on November 10, 2007 |

★★★★★ The food is great! There's more variety now. The service could be faster and friendlier but the food makes up for it. Posted on October 16, 2007 |
★★★★☆ The new ownership has added more items to the menu such as pizza, chicken wings. The sourdough swiss cheese burger is still the best. The pizza is good, ok, and great sometimes. The chicken wings are kind of overpriced and need improvement. The burgers are good. The gyros are also very good along with the other dishes such as soulvaki plates. It's a nice place to sit and eat. The owner is a nice brother and the service is good. Scale 1-5, with 5 best.

★★★☆☆ Food is still good, price went up without any logical justification, the owner needs to pay more attention to this website review and comments, no description in here , no email address for the owner , no pictures, even the very basic information about this restaurant is not filed in by the owner. Posted on July 27, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Gyro House is still Halal. The owner actually told me that he is getting tired of people calling him to ask if it is Halal or not, so enjoy! Posted on July 1, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Gyro House is under new ownership but the food still tastes the same. They also added pizza to their menu with all sorts of toppings. The pizza is ok, maybe i need to try more toppings. Posted on May 27, 2007 |

★★★★★ Oh my Gosh the Food is amazing! I love the Gyros and the Double Meat/Double Cheese Burgers! The Chicken Sandwich is amazing too. The owner has fixed up the shop and so its a really nice sit-down joint now. He doesnt get the Pakola anymore due to ordering complications but its ok cuz these are the best Gyro's ive ever had. Owner supplies the masjid with his food as lunch occassionaly after Friday Jummah Prayers. May Allah bless him! You must check this place out. mmm. Very conveniently located for CSUN students as well! Posted on March 7, 2006 |

★★★★★ mashallah very tasty food. almost like a restaurant type of place, but food 100 times better. very fresh, all types of food, greek, afghani, american. prices excellent and service outstanding. may allah swt reward the owner, we really needed a place like this in the valley. Posted on January 9, 2006 |

★★★★☆ I have no qualms about the food. The food is great. The double cheeseburger is amazing. Its just that sometimes the service seems a little gruff. If you have a large party, the food comes intermittanly so that u may wait 5-10 minutes before servings. If the service could be improved this would be a top notch restraunt Posted on July 8, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Good place. Excellent burger. I also picked up a souvlaki. Nice...well priced. The folks behind the counter are quite friendly. I confirmed with the lady that the meat is all halaal. They have a couple of halaal signs on the window and inside the restaurant. Posted on August 31, 2004 |

★★★★★ I love this place! I visit L.A. all the time from Las Vegas....this new place provides delicious food and friendly service. I am a tough critic on food and they pass with high numbers for me. I enjoy eating their fullfilling food everyday when I visit L.A. I feel secure to know the food is halal. Please spread the word about Gyro House, and come give your business. We need to support establishments like the Gyro House for our Muslim community! Posted on June 9, 2004 |
