A halal sign is clearly visible on the premises of this restaurant. Animals are humanely raised and pasture fed. No hormones or antibiotics are used. Each animal is slaughtered by hand by a known Muslim upon reciting the name of God. No stunning is involved. The animal is allowed to bleed out prior to processing.
NR This place is close to my work so I grab lunch there a lot and it's always awesome. Small menu but everything is great. The cevapi and chicken shwarma are delicious and they added three new american sandwiches - I love the burger and the Italian beef sandwich (juicy and spicy). I didn't try the Italian Meatball sandwich because I don't like marinara but my co-worker thought it was great and he eats non-zabihah. They have some frozen meat products and grilling ingredients but I didn't try them yet. Posted on April 28, 2015
★★★★☆ I had the Ćevapi, which is a grilled dish of a type of kebab/sausage, found traditionally in the countries of southeastern Europe (the Balkans). It is considered a national dish in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The dish is served as a sandwich with about 10 mini sausages in a fresh-baked bun. For dessert, I had homemade tiramisu which was crave-worthy. The place is a very clean european style butcher shop with two tables. Posted on August 19, 2014
★★★★★ Great addition to the area and only two blocks from MEC masjid. We tried the gyro sandwich and chicken shwarma which were both Bosnian style - different sauces than a middle eastern shwarma/gyro and served on big Bosnian lepinja buns (baked fresh by the owner everyday). These sandwiches were delicious, huge (almost as big as a plate) and a great value (4.99!). The owner and his family are super friendly and they plan to add more to the menu as they get more equipment. Great idea for lunch, dinner, iftar, etc. They also have awesome dessert pastries in the fridge case that are also made in house by the owner - also huge, also delicous, also great value (1.49!) - the place is clean and has nice cafe tables for dine-in. Total gem! Posted on June 19, 2014
★★★★☆ New addition to the area. We bought some pre-made bosnian kebabs to grill which tasted great. The bread also looked good and we will try it next time. Posted on June 7, 2014
★★★★★ The Gyros sandwich was great, and the bread was freshly backed and phenomenal. The owner brother Sulejman is very friendly and a familiar face at the MEC Masjid Posted on June 5, 2014
