★☆☆☆☆ We rarely feel the need to write a review urgently but this was one special exception. We went to this place when visiting San Antonio. It had mixed but old reviews so we decided to give it a chance. We went for dinner and ordered off the menu because the buffet looked stale. Our order arrived after about 20 minutes but did not taste at all fresh. They have non zabihah meat available as well so you do have to specify when you order.
Their papri chaat and mango lassi were somewhat decent. All of the dishes we ordered seemed as though they were microwaved and the rice was nearly inedible including the Mustafa special hyderabadi chicken biryani, which also was tasteless. Their roti was made by an automated chappati maker. Their chicken 65 was the worst interpretation of the dish I have ever had. Greasy and seemed a week old.
Do not expect stellar service and our table was dirty upon arrival. Also some parts of our order were missing and were never received (we had to ask for one item and the other item they later said they did not have and refunded us).
Also the prices are obscenely high considering the poor quality of food. I would sincerely warn anyone even considering this restaurant to take a u turn and accelerate away. Posted on December 19, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ Not one of the best but is still good. Ordered chicken Briyani. It was a bit spicy but the rice and chicken tasted good. The worst part is the service and cleanliness. Posted on November 22, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ The manager is really nice. But the food really could use work. Their chicken briyani is good and chicken Manchurian is really delish. However their butter chicken was literally drenched in butter, could not eat it. I also ordered soup, which was not good at all, made me feel like i couldve made it better. Also, their chicken kabob had way too much ginger, it tasted like the chemical preservative they use in the ginger paste. We literally threw it away (take out). I really hope this place gets better, they should cut down their numerous menu items and just make a few items that all taste great. Posted on March 4, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ There is a saying focus on quality NOT quantity. There vision is the opposite. Service is good but food not so good. Their buffet was cold. Their corn soup was not a corn soup but looks like just corn, once again they really need to learn how to make chicken corn soup . I went there twice but no improvement . Stay tuned for my next review in a month. I am hoping they do well like shalimar in Austin . Posted on December 30, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ I went there when they first opened and the food was horrible. We ordered a chicken chow-men, chicken manchurian and chicken corn-soup. I rarely give bad reviews and this is my first, but the chicken chow-men came in a puddle of oil, the manchurian (and I kid u not) was a mixture of spices from karahi/curry. The soup was the worst, it was more like chicken stock, with fresh corn's taken off the cob and boiled chicken, it was tasteless.
I do shop at mustafa groceries and will probably go there, but there is nothing that will make me try their food again. Not even if they paid me. Posted on July 24, 2011 |
