★★★★☆ This place is great. I agree with the first review, this is one of the few Muslim establishments that realizes the importance of atmosphere. The interior design is beautiful, and the restaurant graciously lacks the tacky-ness that is usually associated with Halal food joints. A great place for a special occasion dinner, as the entrees are just a notch pricy. The service is adequate, nothing to rave about. The food was delicious: generous portions, fresh, and seasoned just right. As for the controversy over the Halal-ness of the meat, I'm pretty sure it is. I go to the Rose Market for lunch all the time, and I always see Hozkhoneh's van parked outside, picking up meat and other products. Posted on November 28, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ NOT A PLACE FOR MUSLIM.....One thing i can say, forgot about food, come on if you care so much to eat Halal food, how the hill you would go to a place like this, VERY EVIL PLACE. One time we just walked inside it, and you can feel evil all over. What I mean by evil is that these people brining dancer to dance (harm of course). Posted on April 9, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Ask if it is halal or not before ordering. Rose market sells halal meat and same persons own hozkhoneh. So, if the meat is from rose market, should be halal. Posted on October 25, 2003 |

★☆☆☆☆ "I seriously doubt that it is halal or not. I asked him if he knows for sure it's halal or not, he said he thinks it halal. He is not sure. He said he buys meat from Rose MArket.. what ever that is... check before you eat here" Posted on April 21, 2003 |

★★★★★ Hozkhoneh is hard to find since it sits back away from the road. But once you find it it is like finding a hidden treasure. I love walking into their outdoor patio. The setting for this place is awesome. There is 3 different levels. On the top level they have live bands playing on the weekends. I don't know who the new chef is but the food is great again. You have to try their Mirza Ghasemi (smoked eggplant dip) I'll guarantee you'll be hooked! Posted on May 5, 2002 |

★★★★☆ "I have been going to Hozkhoneh for about a year and half now. I seriously doubt that it is halal. I have asked and got the run around. Be warned alcohol is served full fledged bar, and weekends usually the downstairs are booked for parties. My friends and I mainly went there for the Sheshah (Argileeh, Hookah, or Hubble Bubble) which was the bomb - apple flavored if you don't know. We would hang there two or three times a week. The outside area is awesome. They have booths that you can sit down in on Persian carpets to eat, chill and have some sheshah. we would order dinner and chill for a few hours smoking some sheshah. The service started out cool and we would expect good service since we were regular customers but lately they have been sucking. They started charging minimum amounts and started being rude. The food was better but recently has gone to hell along with the service. The atmosphere is the bomb the service sucks and I hope it gets better." Posted on February 6, 2002 |

★★★★☆ "I drove down there to watch a soccer match between Iran's national team and Saudi Arabia. The match was excellent, Daei scored 2 goals and we won 2-0. Anyways, we went to Hozkhooneh with a couple of my friends who live there and it was fun watching a soccer match with like 100 other Iranian people at 6 AM! Just lovely! Specially when we had the Kalleh Pacheh between two halfs and it was so yummy! I recommend you give it a try!" Posted on August 24, 2001 |

★★★★☆ "I've been going to this place on and off since it opened. I really like the atmosphere and the decor, it's going for that old Persia theme, and does a descent job at it. The size and quality of their food started out great, but went down gradually. I was going to warn you against that place. As of my last visit, they're back on top of my list again. I went there on a Thursday night, the Chelo was done just right, the meat for the Kababs was obviously fresh, the servings were generous, and the service was friendly. It is a bit pricy though. Warning: I don't think all of their dishes are halal, ask before ordering." Posted on March 17, 2001 |

★★★★☆ "Take the grilled delights from Rose Market. Double their price. Add a bunch of other useless Persian dishes. Add a lot of atmosphere - the Rose Market owners are the only Muslims I know that have the mental capabilities to realize that atmosphere is important, although Rose Market itself is straight out of the third world. Add a wait list that runs an hour or two long because the place is so darn popular. You have the unpronouncable and unspellable Hozkhouneh. Oh, and don't forget the outdoor sheesha (aka, hooka or nargila) patio outside. BTW, as background - this is the only Muslim restaurant that I know that has invested in outdoor heating lamps (the nice gas kind, not a cheap electric heater tucked away in the corner of a room). I thought I would only see those in nice American-run restaurants (like Il Fornaio, etc)." Posted on March 17, 2001 |
