★☆☆☆☆ This place is in no manner zabiha...their chicken is only halal which does not constitute as zabihah and also today when I went to A&W i ordered their Papa Burger which does not have any bacon which is pork but when I open up my sandwich their was bacon and when i asked them they said it was pork...This place is in no manner Zabihah or Halal because any muslim that sells pork to muslims is NOT MUSLIM!!!!! ★★★☆☆ for anyone who is still involved in the debate of whether this place is halal/zabihah or not please visit their site and review the various docs/certs they have:http://www.zabihakfc.com/docs.asp?id=docs Posted on October 10, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ The quality varies a lot, but usually worth its price.
I love the Zabihah Halal Chicken Sandwich (lot like Xinger burger in Pakistan).
The staff can be sometime ignorant about using non-halal chicken like wings and pop-corn chicken. But, in general, it is a great restaurant. For this price, I love it. Posted on August 7, 2009 |
|
|
★☆☆☆☆ The restaurant is never clean. Don't sit by the bathrooms cuz it'll smell weird. it's not gonna kill anyone to clean up a bit..i wish they would.
The staff is pretty consistent whenever I go about what is halal and what is not.
From what I've been told over and over by the staff: Everything is halal except:
Chicken snacker
popcorn chicken
hotdogs
The food is what you can expect from a fast food place. Posted on September 15, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ food quality varies tremendously
good one day, terrible other
but pricewise it is good
the fishy part is that when there is no desi there the staff claims ALL the chicken items are hallal, when there is a desi incharge things like wings are not. Posted on August 2, 2008 |

★★★★☆ Stopped off here for lunch on the way home from a wedding in Chicago area. The manager told us that all the beef is halal (including the bacon - which is beef/turkey) and most of the whole chicken items. BUT, the pre-prepared items such as the popcorn chicken, chicken strips and hot dogs. Try the "Papa Burger." It was nice eating at a regular fast food joint for a change. My recommendation to the owners is to make a special halal menu sign which states which items are halal and which are non-halal, because it will make things alot easier for everyone. The manager had to repeat which items are halal several times, since we had a large group with us. Posted on July 9, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ While living in Naperville, we bought chicken here many times, but subsequently heard that not all the food is halal. So in my opinion this effectively means that their food is not halal. One has to be careful, and when in doubt it is always best to avoid it. I will still give a rating of three stars becuase the food is very tasty. Posted on February 20, 2008 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ Their special flavors such as wings are not halal.
They use separate oil and utensils.
The food is average...it's KFC...deep fried...so don't expect much. Posted on September 7, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ Not everything is zabiha, you have to ask before ordering they'll let you know . Like the new snackers from KFC, not all of them are zabiha. Just ask to be safe ! Posted on August 13, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ The place was very dirty and the food is worst and i am also not sure whether it is halal or not.Not recommended! Posted on December 26, 2006 |

★★★★★ I've no doubt that this place is not serving anything but Zabiah.
Mr. Afzal has provided tremendous number of certification, more than any other establishment that is serving Zabiah in Chicago are that I know of.
I admire Mr. Afzal's effort in serving Muslim community.
This is a very clean restaurant that is serving Zabiah Halal food for very resonable prices. Posted on October 1, 2006 |

★★★★☆ My wife and I ate here many times while we lived in the Chicago area. I'm not going to comment on the issue of whether this place is truly zabiha or not because I simply do not know. The staff does assure you it is halal although I don't think I asked them if it is zabiha. In any case, food wise, it is very tasty. We really liked the food. Dining area was nice and clean. Friendly service. Thumbs up, recommended. Posted on August 28, 2006 |

★★★☆☆ I go here from time to time, as I pass through Chicago. The last time I went there was March 27, 2006. Even at that time, the staff assured me the place was Halal. I ask every time I go about the Halal assurances, because there is no separate Halal menu, so you have to be careful to double-check every item you order with the staff. The staff says that everything at the A&W is Halal (except for the bacon), and that only certain items at the KFC are halal. The fried chicken is supposed to be Halal, as is the Twister Wrap, and a couple of the sandwitches (be sure to ask which ones). In all cases, be sure to ask for Halal, as it is a separate cash register entry on some of the items (you will see halal on your receipt next to the chicken items). It gets even more confusing when you go to the website, see a special, and then go to the store only to have them tell you the specials advertised on the website are not Halal. It would be nice if the Website Admin, and the store had a printed Halal menu. Aside from Halal, service is quite slow, and the food is cold at times, since some items take longer to prepare than others to the point that the easier items become cold by the time you get your food. But let's face it, you are not going to KFC for gourmet food, you are going for fried chicken, and that is what you get. Posted on April 4, 2006 |

★★★☆☆ New Management at this place and they took down their halal certificate. Certain workers said yes to Halal others denied it. All muslims beware. Posted on March 1, 2006 |

★★★★☆ I visited this place on my last visit to Chicago. I saw ads for this place in local Urdu newspapers. The Chicken bucket orders are the only halal item on the KFC menu. Posted on July 26, 2005 |

NR Mr. Aitebaar,
Im upset about the tone of write up. you should respect your religion the way it is and not criticize people who want to abide the way our prophet did. so keep your modernization thoughts to your self. Dont call mullah, its unpolished, its moulana, a respect to a learned person. dont call them backward, they are experts in what they learnt. they are progrssive. if you have bad experience with one moulana, dont blame everybody. learn to respect word of allah. dont generaize that 95% muslims didnt read koran. did u do any survey. you talk as if you evangelist bent upon heaping false junk on ISLAm. May Allah give you hadayat. Watch your words when talking about Islam.

★☆☆☆☆ I have eaten at KFC Lombard, believing it to be halal zabiha. However, on investigating further on their website I have come to the conclusion that it is not and the halal certifing agency they use doesn't seem to be a valid or believable organisation. If even the Jews do not accept KFC as Kosher then I certainly will be extremely wary. A few months ago I read a comment by a senior officer of KFC mocking the Jews saying that the flour coating applied to chicken meat did not hold unless it had traces of pork lard or something like that Posted on December 13, 2004 |

★★★★★ I am sorry guys I do not agree with those guys who are against machine slaughter of chicken sooner or latter everybody will be eating machine slaughter thats how modernization work some muslim brothers feel doing the old ways some how more right then modern way.Constant change is happening if we do not change according to time then the whole umma one day will extinct like dinosaurs.Islam is a modern religion design for past present and future but our mullahs are not comming out of past let say somewhere in between sixth and seventh century.Allah is all knowing and He knows the intention for machine zabihah. I say trust your muslim brothers and your faith inshaullah we all will be saved. ammeen. Let not waste our time in piddly stuff like how many times Allahuakber was said on the animal. We are paying too much attention to small things when 95% of muslims have not read Quran with meaning which is our book of guidence.Think about it Posted on November 29, 2004 |

NR What sort of inasnity is this? People asking Br. Rasheeduddin to not impose his view on others are doing exactly that ..... imposing the views of WESTERN WORLD onto muslims. So, please keep ur ideas to urself, do not corrupt the relegion of islam for ur personal taste... if that is how cheap ur iman is, so be it. Please keep that to urself. Read about the teachings of the Prophet (pbuh), understand that in his teachings alone is right guidance towards following the true relegion of Allah. PLEASE do not exploit the words of Islam for commercial benefits and mislead the followers of Islam. For those of us that are secular and modern muslims, please take a minute to analyze ur actions, ur ideology ... why u do what u do and why u think something is right. therein may lie the answer....stop imposing the western belief onto the rest of the muslims. ★★★★★ My friend you are wrong again. I am not the owner, just one of the customer, but I do know that you are the owner of Madina Slaughterhouse and people like you always exploit religion to gain finiancial or other benefit in this world. As far as I am concern you are nothing but phony who is taking advantage of our beautiful religion and interpretating it to your own gain and trying to take the religion back 1400 years. Muslims now are lot more educated and inshaullah they will be making their own decision. You are a hypocrate and people like you should be immediately recognized and identified. The moment you get your material benefit from KFC you will be sucking up their behind. And the last time I heard Saudi Arab was a muslim country. I prey
Allah for showing us the right path.

★☆☆☆☆ Br. Rasheed does not own any slaughter house. He is doing a great service for the Muslims. You can check out his website for more information. As for the person who is saying that KFC is zabihah, that is totally wrong. Everytime an animal is cut, the name of Allah HAS to be taken. With machine slaughter, it is impossible because they pass by too fast. For more info on it, read the link which takes you to Mufti Adam Kawthari's brilliant answer. As for the Saudi fatwa, it is bogus. [offending comment edited by Moderator] Three lines and nothing else. Read Mufti Kawthari's answer to find out what real scholarship is. Go to the post which was Submitted on 2004-01-29. The link is there. Abu Hurayrah (R.A.) narrates that the Prophet of Allah said, "A time will come upon the people wherein a person will not bother what he intakes, whether from a Halal source or from a Haram source." (BUKHARI) Muslims in USA are really messed up when it comes to Halal and Haram. Posted on March 23, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Assalam O Alaikum Br.Anonymous,
I can also ask the same question to you how much money you are getting from the owners or free dinner at KFC to write these threads. You are accusing me without proof, I am not that rich to own the Madina Foods in Toronto.Using the religion to exploit innocent Muslims without any fatawa from local ulema is what the owners are doing to make few bucks. Our job is to inform Muslim that their Zabiha methods is not acceptable to every Muslims. We have no objection if some Muslims believe in machine slaughter and eat their chicken but it is not for all Muslims. Why you become Anonymous from Jawed Rathore. I am helping Muslims without any financial benefit to eat Halal foods only so that their Duwa will be accepted by Allah through my Halal food book and web site since 1991. Posted on March 23, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Assalam O Alaikum Br.Ghulam Khanzada
I was requested to investigate KFC in Lomabrd, IL by Muslim consumers and also they ask me to response to threads on KFC. You can read the whole investigation report on our web site www.muslimconsumergroup.com News/Alerts section. I have no ojection promoting KFC if they are hand slaughtered and use Halal coatings. I would like Muslims to be in fast food business just like those 11 Muslims businessmen of Popeye Chicken in Toronto. I do not know them personally nor I know owners of Madina Foods. Our main principle is that hand slaughtering is acceptable to every Muslims but machine slaughtering is not acceptable to everyone. We get inquiries from all over the world about Halal food products and we report them on FAQ section of web site.Alhumdulilla over 300 people visit our web site every day, we also provide Halal food book. I donate all my work to Muslim Ummah without any monetary benefit.I am not using this for personal vendetta because you can see other threads on this site about Muslims discussing Zabiha status of certain restaurants. Also there are other Muslims who wrote against the KFC, I am not alone. Posted on March 23, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Assalam O Alaikum
I think you are one of the the owner of KFC at Lombard, because the owner wrote me the exact sentence in his e-mail to me last year"Brother Rashiduddin does not call himself an aalim". Brother you do not know my characters and taqwa so please do not bring the cheap money matters of this world. Alhumdolillah I am doing this service for Muslims for long time without any monetary benefit.I am just doing for the sake of Allah and I do free Halal certification for Muslims. When truth mentioned its hurts, Popeye is not a mama papa company, they have a good QA system run by a foreign well educated lady. They will not approve Madina fine foods if its operation is dirty. I have no relation with Madina fine foods. Our Zabiha principle is based on the recommendations from those ulema whose names are mentioned on our web site. KFC will not use any other slaughterhouse other than Gold Kist because of financial dealing otherwise they will use hand slaughtering method which is acceptable every Muslim.I am not in a Zabiha Halal certification business. I do Halal certify on Non meat Halal food products and food ingredients. So you are wrong about our relation with Madina fine Foods.I just investigated the Madina Fine Foods and find out they do only hand slaughtering. Thanks for putting the reference from Saudi Arabia. A good Muslim businessman do the home work before going into Halal business about its acceptability to all Muslim but they just ignored it. Now they have to work extra to convince Muslims that their chickens are Zabiha & Halal. The 11 Muslim Popeye owners in Toronto are having good time, they do not have to work extra to convince Muslims that their chickens are Zabiha and Halal. What a sweet deal. Posted on March 22, 2004 |

★★★★★ As salam alay kum. Machine slaughter fatwa can be found on the following website. Brother Rashiduddin does not call himself an aalim, but he wants to advise and act like one. He wants to impose his self serving opinion on others. God knows what kind of finiancial benefit he gets from madina slaughterhouse in every other letters, he always advertise for madina slauhterhouse. I have found out about Madina Slaughterhouse. It is an extermely dirty slaughterhouse and they can not get approval from KFC corp. due to their extremely unhealthy condition. Brother Rashiuddin first get your slaughterhouse cleaned up and then try to ger KFC approval then you may get business from KFC corp. You think that muslim in this country are not well read but you are wrong. They know right from wrong. Clean up your place and try genuinely hard to get KFC business inshaullah you will be successful. Posted on March 20, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Br. Jawed first of all you should have given refernce so that the readers can read the whole article just like Anonymous did for "Machine slaughtered meat answered by Shaykh Muhammed ibn Adam al-Kawthari from Sunni-Path. Many ulema in US do not agree with Sheikh Abd al-Wahhb al-Turayr thoughts(it is not a fatwa but answered to the question). Machine slaughtering in US is based on economics and the Saudi Govt. and their ulema cave in to the poultry industry rather with their huge buying power they could have demanded the hand slaughtering. They even did not learn from Sachet Rabbi in US who only slaughter chicken by hand. The Ulema in saudi Arabia can not issue any thoughts or fatawa which is not in line with Saudi Govt. Many Muslims do not accept Fatawa from Suadi Arabia because of the above reason. Look I do not make Halal or Haram things by my own but it is based on Quran, Sunnah and guidance from our ulema. The main objective for the Muslim owners of Poeye Chicken in Toronto is to make good busniness based on sound Sharia rules which are acceptable to every Muslim. This is the reason 11 Muslim businessmen joined the Popeye chain. But this is not the case with KFC and no other Muslim businessmen joined the KFC chain.
Muslim Consumer Group can not accept KFC chickens as Zabiha or Halal based on the facts, our Zabiha criteria and advice from Ulema which we consult all the time. Posted on March 18, 2004 |

★★★★★ Brother Rashiduddin I would like to bring this fatwa to your attention and I am hoping that you will be very careful about making halal things haram.
Slaughtering chickens by machine - Question: When we get meat (chicken), we go to the local (non-Muslim) slaughterhouse/factory and recite the name of Allah over the chickens as a mechanical blade slices their throats. We are not doing it with our own hands but a machine is carrying out the slaughter. The process is so fast that by the time we recite the name of Allah, at least four chickens have gone by. Is this meat lawful for us to eat?
Answered by Sheikh `Abd al-Wahhab al-Turayr, former professor at al-Imam University in Riyadh: Slaughtering is valid by means of any sharp tool that causes the blood flow. This would includes such machines as you describe. If this action is taken and Allah's name is mentioned, then the slaughter is correct and the meat slaughtered in this way is lawful, by the will of Allah. If some of the animals are slaughtered before the name of Allah could be mentioned on them, then they are also lawful, by the will of Allah. And Allah knows best. Posted on March 17, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Assalam O Alaikum Br. Jawaed
Please do not play the Mecca and Medina shareef card to convenience Muslims to eat what you like. Saudi Arabia does accept food products as Halal made with alcohol containing flavors. So Saudi Halal Standards are not acceptable to every Muslims. Gold Kist did not mention that their chickens are consumed in Saudi Arabia. For your information A-Baik Chickens (Saudi owned) are more popular than KFC in Saudi Arabia.
We would like to know what research you did on your own. Inspecting the KFC store will not tell how the chickens are slaughtered. Can you provide Muslims the ingredients statement of all coatings used in Saudi Arabia and here in USA?
With all those Halal certificates, the food coatings both for original and Crispy breading seasoning are not Halal or Kosher certified.
The KFC chickens at Lombard store are not Zabiah because:
1.The machine slaughtering method at Gold Kist is not acceptable to all Muslims.
2.No well educated Islamic scholars or Islamic Sharia board of Chicago has endorsed their Zabiha status.
3.The so called Zabiha KFC is the only KFC in Midwest according to their advertisements in Urdu news paper. No other Muslim businessman has accepted the Zabiha status provided by Gold Kist to open KFC store except the franchise owners of Lombard, IL store. On the other hand 11 out of 17 franchise owners of Popeye Chicken in Toronto are Muslims because they knew that the Medina Food of Toronto hand slaughtered the chickens and food coating is Halal certified. ★★★★★ Let me ask you guys who are againt the KFC in lombard. do u guys eat at kfc`s in mecca or madina?
if your answer is no then we respect your belief and faith. but if your answer is yes then you should eat without any fear at KFC in Lombard. I had did my own research , I have also inspected the KFC in Lombard with their Manager.
I came to the conclusion that KFC in lombard serves exactly the same chicken and ingredients what they served in Mecca and Madina.
If saudi government allowed them to serve KFC over there, then I think the Muslim here in Chicago area should not be that concern and eat at KFC in Lombard. Posted on February 23, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Thank you brother Rasheed for taking time out to uncover the truth about Zabiha restaurants. I am very careful to eat Zabiha only foods and I resent when restaurants take advantage of this for money's sake. If the owners are seriously interested in serving the Zabiha eating community, then they should contact experts, just as experts are contacted for any other topic where help is needed. How can others respect our religion and Maulanas when our own people are ready to degrade them? I have eaten at KFC before I found out that they are Zabiha-fake. I would like them to succeed,as I would any Muslim organization, but not at my expense. It would not cost them much to follow the proper procedure. They should get rid of their pride and be open to what the brother is saying. Posted on January 1, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Brother Zaidi, your research finding is not true; first you did not provide any fact about it. Just made a statement to justify your preference. MCG has collected facts about Zabiha hand slaughtering. Medina Fine Foods of Toronto, Canada (416-615-0015) is supplying Zabiha hand slaughtered chicken to 17 Popeye stores in Toronto, 11 stores are run & owned by Muslims. They have five Muslims who hand slaughtered chicken on the line, with sixth Muslim as a spare hand slaughtering person. Each Muslim hand slaughtered every fifth chicken to match the line speed. Medina Fine Foods also supplies Zabiha hand slaughtered chicken to 350,000 Muslims in various Zabiha Meat stores in Toronto. Crescent Foods is another company supplying hand slaughtered chicken to 450,000 Muslims in Chicago area stores. Another hand slaughtered company is in Petaluma, CA, supply Zabiha hand slaughtered chicken to 250,000 Muslims in Bay area of SF and there are many in other cities. Muslims in Arab countries considered Meat slaughtered by people of the books as Halal, it does not matter to them how the Ahle-Kitab slaughtered the chicken. But this belief is not share by other Muslims in many part of the world. The documentations provided by the stores lack the authenticity. It is a statement which can not be physically possible by one Muslim working on two lines at 280 chickens per minute. The documents also lack any endorsement from a well qualified Islamic scholar. ★★★★★ Went and saw what all the fuss is about, did a little research on the topic, hand cut zabiha meat is darn near impossible to have when you are trying to serve a huge population, it is just not practical. Owner also gave me the address: http://www.zabihakfc.com thats where they have all the documentation regarding their zabiha process. Posted on November 18, 2003 |

★☆☆☆☆ Brother Waris, I have no personal interest in KFC, I did it on behalf Muslim consumers who wrote us to do it because of their trust, our intergrity and our experience in food industry. They want to hear from an independant source without any conflict of interest. The decumentations are not from an independant sources except Halal certificate for the chicken gravy. The reason we wrote reviews in detail is to cover every points, so that nothing left. Free Iftari is not make them Halal & Zabiha. Lot of Masajid and other organizations also offer free iftary, that is the spirit of Ramadan. If you are happy with them, we have no problem. But we have no personal grudge against them. ★☆☆☆☆ A Muslim consumer asked us to read the reviews on Zabihah.com and requested us to clarify the questions raised in the reviews on this restaurant. We also forwarded his request to Zabihah.com. When some one wrote about us, we had to respond.
As we mentioned on our web site, we do not consider KFC chicken as Halal and Zabiha based on our Zabiha criteria and food coatings on the chicken that do not meet our Halal food criteria. The Zabiha criteria we used are based on the recommendation from the Islamic scholars whose names are mentioned on our web site.
It is up to each Muslim consumer to consider whether these chickens are really Zabiha/Halal or not based on their individual belief or advice from their Islamic scholars.
I want to say a few things about my background with respect to food coating on chickens. I used to work for Newly Wed Foods company, one of the top three meat food coating companies in US, along with Griffith Lab and McCormick. As a Senior Scientist, I have developed self stable fresh Japanese crumbs for shrimps. MCG has been doing Halal certification since 1993. We are not involved in Halal chicken certification and will not Halal certify food coatings for any company who supply to KFC. Since we published a critical investigation report for KFC, we have to follow strict Islamic ethics for staying away from any Halal certification for KFC so that we will not compromise the conflict of interest rules. Muslims will not say that we did it just for the sake of our Halal certifications. This is the way we have been operating since 1993.

★☆☆☆☆ The statement in Brother Mubarak Mohammed's (we respect him as a Muslim) Halal certificate can not be physical possible to check about being all the live stock were alive before the slaughtering and jugular vein and trachea were cut because of the speed of two lines slaughtering 280 chickens a minute. He has no time to check each individual chicken before and after machine cuts. He can not physically say Islamic Rites on each chicken. The Hanafi requirement for zabiha is that Takbir has to be said on each animal while slaughtering. Many chickens are killed without saying the Takbir on them because of the speed of the lines and will not be considered Zabiha and Halal according to Hanafi Fiqa.
The most important thing being the employee of Gold Kist, he is compromising the conflict of interest rules. He is doing what the company wants him to do. There is no independent audit regarding what happens during machine cuts. It is the words of Brother Mubarak and Gold Kist. It is possible that some chickens may be dead before machine slaughtering due to electric shock. Only USDA can know how many are dead before machine slaughtering due to change of meat color inside the chicken after machine cuts.
Gold Kist is saying that their plant is an approved Halal plant. But a company can not claimed that their plant is Halal approved without independent out side Halal certifying organization certification. It will be a conflict of interest case. This letter and the letter indicating that they are supplying chicken to Middle Eastern countries does not prove anything.

★☆☆☆☆ The KFC Instant Gravy Mix SF10407 from Singapore is for Singapore only and not for USA, and also it lacks reference to food ingredients from alcoholic fermentation such as yeast extract from beer making.
We contacted both the McCormick company and the Islamic Services of America for Chicken Gravy Mix F60587. We asked ISA about the Torula yeast and Brewers Yeast Extract and they did not know the source of and asked us to send the letter.
Griffith Lab. has not yet supplied us the information we asked them regarding Halal or Kosher status of Non-Fat Dry Milk, Egg white and Natural Flavor. As you know, the Natural flavor in McDonald's French Fries is made of Non-Zabiha beef extract. This is the reason we asked them in August 2003. The chicken coating at KFC is not Halal or Kosher certified. Posted on November 2, 2003 |

★☆☆☆☆ Brother Muhammed Aseem wrote that we have some personal vengeance against KFC in Lombard".
We never knew about the existence of KFC in Lombard until July 2003 when a Muslim consumer asked to investigate the Halal status of their chickens, nor did we know or meet the owners personally before. We do not create divisions among Muslims, but we are the first ones to bring truth to Muslim consumers, not based on rumors but hard facts. If you want to eat their chicken, then go ahead. We are not preventing you but please do not put unfounded blame on MCG. Zabiha KFC web site does not prove any thing. They have provided us the same paper work in August 2003.

★☆☆☆☆ Brother Mahmood Majeed wrote "KFC Lombard never claimed that it was hand cut Zabiha". It is not true. They put machine cut information on their web site in October 2003. They did not advertise that information in Urdu newspapers in Chicago or at the ISNA convention in Chicago this year. Your statements are also not true about Islamic scholars against the mechanical slaughter because they have sharia reasonings. It may surprise you to learn that all Kosher slaughters are done by hand and without stunning. They never accepted the machine slaughter and stunning. They have been doing this for the last 5000 years. How come they do not use science? On the other hand the rich Muslim countries with huge buying power did not go against the machine cutting. MCG has provided the information of the use of hand held " Ultrasonic Knife" to Halal slaughtering companies for hand slaughtering at speed 100 times more than the conventional knife. It works on high speed oscillation method. Major food companies are using this to cut the candies and bars. For your information mechanical slaughtering is done only on poultry in USA and other countries because you can not put cows and lambs hanging on a conveyer belt. Animal slaughtering during Hajj is done by hand. Can you provide the name of any Mufti who says the chicken slaughtering at Gold Kist is Zabiha and Halal? Does this mean you trust non Muslim companies for religious slaughtering who employee Muslims under their control? Zabiha is a religious act for Muslims. It should be under the ownership of Muslims only. As in the case of Medina Foods in Toronto for Popeyes Chicken as mentioned by Anonymous brother. Posted on November 2, 2003 |

★☆☆☆☆ An anonymous brother has brought up a very interesting point about what happens when Brother Mubarak becomes sick.
I spoke to him about 10 to 15 minutes and I was wondering who is saying takbir during this time and where those machine cut chickens are going for Muslim consumption. It is easy to find where those chickens went in the absence of brother Mubarak by tracing the code date from QA and his absence from HR department.
State of Illinois has passed the Halal Food Act 410 ILCS 637/1 in 2001. Deception prohibited. It is a Class B misdemeanor for any person to make any oral or written statement that directly or indirectly tends to deceive or otherwise lead a reasonable individual to believe that a non-halal food or food product is halal. Any Muslim consumer can approach the Illinois Department of Agriculture for investigation if he or she thinks that Halal Food Act is being violated by any Halal business. But MCG will not approach the Illinois department of Agriculture regarding KFC as we assured the owners of KFC in Lombard, IL.

★★★☆☆ I am researching this mechanical slaughter method and I have not come to a conclusive answer yet. But in the mean time, you might find the following link helpful. It answers many questions about Mechanical Slaughter. BTW I don't think our respected scholars get any worldly benefit by stating that a certain thing is Haram. Also, MCG is NOT run by scholars! I have never been for Haj, but what two people have told me so far is that the animals are hand cut. Many people cut it on their own or have their own pre-picked people to cut it for them. All the Muslim owned Popeys stores in Toronto ( the best city in the west) offer hand slaughtered meat. You say that according to most of the Ulama it is ok to consume mechanical slaughtered meat. Can you name me a couple at least so that I can start eating KFC and take them to hell with me if they are wrong. Posted on October 29, 2003 |

★★★★★ I agrees with you brother akhtar. "yeh do takay key mullah kiya janey". They made our best religion islam into "choon choon ka murabba" But I guess people are getting more aware and careful from these mullahs. I say eat KFC because it is zabiha and also it is tasty. ★★★★★ I have been to KFC may be 10 to 20 times, and they have never claimed that it was hand cut zabiha. I do not understand why those mullahs are so much against machines and science. Any kind modern equipment that benefits society, they always manage to find something wrong it. I guess they want to take Islam 1400 years back. But ofcourse they would take things like the loud microphone , toyota cars, and other luxury inventions with them.....theres nothing wrong with those things, as long as it benefits them.
Tell me at the time of Haj "How they can cut 3 to 4 million animals from fajr till may be noon" use common sense .We are 1.2 billions muslims in the world animals consumption will be in millions per day do your own math.
I believe in Niyyat (intention) and the intention of KFC`s Gold kist slaughterhouse is to provide muslims a meat which was slaughter in the name of Allah (Takbeer), Neck was slit and blood was drained out.It is Zabiha according to most of the Ulema except the few ignorant one. ★☆☆☆☆ MCG has no ulterior motives to announce about KFC Lombard being non-zabiha. BTW, I have nothing to do with MCG. But people do call me Maulana for obvious reasons. As per your advice BR. Aseem, I went to the kfczabiha website, and it is clearly written there that the chickens are mechanically slaughtered. Go to letter #4 from the top and by the bullets, you will find the following written there: Chickens travel to MECHANICAL kill device in 15 seconds. You get that? MECHANICAL!! Another thing is that they are killing 140 chickens per minute!! The lone brother is saying two takbeers in one second! The guy must be doing some crazy zikr! What happens when he is sick or whatever? Just because the owner says go to their site doesn't mean it is zabiha. How gullible we are when it comes to food! Some people say you should believe what a Muslim says without questioning him/her. Where did we get that from? When someone is accused of stealing infront of a Muslim judge, and the accused Muslim says I didn't steal it, does the judge believe him or does he do a THOROUGH investigation? Of course the judge will investigate the matter. Same goes when a Muslim store claims about zabiha, we MUST investigate! And when you investigate about KFC-Lombard, you will come to a conclusion that it is non-zabiha. Chcek out the Muslim Consumer Group's website again. Initially I did eat from there, but when the truth came out, I stopped eating from there. The chicken was too oily anyway! :) Peace. Posted on October 26, 2003 |

★★★★★ KFC in Lombard. I was there last week.we were altogether 10 people 4 adult , 2 teenagers and 4 children from ages 4 to 11. Everybody enjoyed the Zabiha chicken, especially now our young generation have place to go. I had asked the owner if the KFC chicken was indeeed zabiha ? and he replied yes and also encourage me to go on their website at
www.kfczabiha.com
I would like to encourage other muslim brothers to go into the franchise business with Mcdonald , Burger king or Wendys, so our children can become the part of main stream america.
The KFC chicken was great and insha-allah we all will be visiting them again. I highly recommend to every muslims to visit KFC in Lombard Posted on October 21, 2003 |

★★★★★ I think that MCG has some personal vengence against KFC in Lombard. I ask MCG "Why do you create division in muslims?". KFC is Zabiha visit there web site and judge for yourself. A great place and great food for family and Friends. Posted on October 20, 2003 |

★☆☆☆☆ This place is not Zabiha. The chickens are mechanically cut, therefore they are not Zabiha. I hate it when people lie to Muslims and play with their Iman and faith. They even served KFC chicken at the Isna convention even though they were told it is not Zabiha. ISNA is in it for the money!! Check out www.muslimcounsumergroup.com for more info. The following is taken from their site:ALERT
MACHINE SLAUGHTERED KFC CHICKEN AT ISNA CONVENTION
ISNA has allowed machine slaughtered KFC chicken (from KFC Lombard, IL store) to serve to those Muslims who eat only hand slaughtered Zabiha meat, at their 40th convention in Chicago, IL. Muslims assumed that the chickens were hand slaughtered and were obtained from local Zabiha meat shops. The KFC Lombard, IL franchise's banner mentioned Halal & Zabiha at their booth. ISNA failed to inform Muslim consumers that the chickens were machine slaughtered.
KFC Lombard, IL franchise had informed MCG that their chickens will be served at the ISNA convention. We had contacted ISNA, Brother Tippo Ahmed who told us that the decision to allow KFC chickens at convention was not final. Posted on October 18, 2003 |

★★★★★ I was just there, and the chicken was great. I had questions about the zabiha process and their Chicken distributor, and they directed me to their website, zabihakfc.com. Very, very informative site. They actually let you download pdf files of their original documents. A must see website for people who were skeptical at first (like me). But now you can call me one of the converted. Posted on October 14, 2003 |

★★☆☆☆ I've been to this location once and there are no complaints about the location. It's convenient and has a roomy parking lot. The inside is full of brand new seating and displays. This is a brand new restaurant. However, this is the worst fried chicken I have had in years. There was so much fat hanging off the chicken that eating it was like performing surgery. And the chicken was soggy. I want crispy chicken and instead got the breading practically oozing off the meat. It was also noticeably flavorless. These guys have defintely cut corners on their meat supplier and do not know the secret of frying chicken. I can, however, vouch for the owners, who are reputable Muslims in the area. Just had to say the food was not worth my going back there again. Posted on September 29, 2003 |
