★☆☆☆☆ Worst Bryani, Worst service. Will never go there again Posted on August 27, 2017 |

★★☆☆☆ Please don't go there. Food sucks over there. Waste of your money Posted on March 20, 2017 |

★★★★☆ I went to Vegas 3 times and visited this place in every visit. Customer service was great first time but last time owner wasn't here and it was not like first time. Chicken Kabab was great as always. Nihari is ok but overall delicious food Posted on September 3, 2016 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ uhsband/wife run the show. Assured it was halal.
Average nehari; great biryani. Posted on June 20, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ Recently went there when I was on a business trip. Poorly management and no sense of customer care. I ordered biryani which was the worst I ever had in my life. Posted on March 11, 2016 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ Tables were dirty. Not enough help. We ordered Lahori Chicken Tikka which was Excellent but Nihari didn't taste at all like Nihari. Posted on February 21, 2016 |

★★★☆☆ We went to this place during our trip to Las Vegas. We ordered chicken seekh kababs, chicken tikka masala and aloo qeema. Aloo Qeema was bland but edible with chatni. Chicken seekh kababs were good but a bit over spicy with green chilly. Chicken tikka masala was completely disappointing with some sweet after taste. Naans were ok. Our hunger was probably the main reason the food appeared edible. we paid about 65 dollars for the above mentioned food. I would not go there again unless that is the only desi place open in Vegas. ★☆☆☆☆ crappy cust service. Hygiene issues. The naan's wrre crazy hard. not a good value for the money. Posted on July 11, 2015 |

They have nice area for prayers also! Posted on October 17, 2014 |

★★☆☆☆ Over priced- food was fresh but poor taste food!. Definitely price does not match the quality of food. Big disappointment. I will not visit again! Posted on March 7, 2014 |

★★★★☆ To Mr. "Khanz.pvs" respond to the review below. Shalimar has been closing on MONDAYS for the past 3 years. They have multiple visible signs throughout the front windows. It also shows on this website that it's closed only on Mondays. The owner & i are family friends so i will inform them next time i see them to place a more visible sign upfront if it may have caused any inconvenience. Other than that it's worth a try. Food is good :) Posted on December 5, 2013 |

NR Got there and found the place closed and no signs on door. I am from bay area and the salimar we have in fremont is the best thats why I came here. but I found sakina instead and the food was good over there. Posted on November 5, 2013 |

★★★★★ We usually go to Shalimar quite often especially when we have a little family gathering. This place is probably the perfect spot for desi family meetings with home made style quality food. Our parents enjoy the old 70's music in there which is usually on while drinking tea which always put up front. Thats a plus. I always get their Kabobs and tandoori chicken which is highly recommended. Also the fact thay they make naans in the clay oven not those frozen ones. Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Karahi is delicious. Try it out and you would know. Posted on October 4, 2013 |

★★★★★ We were on a vacation out there in vegas for a couple days. We had a great experience eating at this place. Very family atmosphere and traditional home made style food. We ordered mostly non vegeterian curries and we ended even taking the left overs back to the hotel rooms. The guy upfront who's the main servor/chasier is one awesom guy who guided us around and delivered food to us the following days we were there without any hesitation. We declare the Nihari and Chicken Karahi the best in West Coast. Highly recommended to the new visitors. Posted on October 4, 2013 |

★★★★★ The food was AMAZING. My friends and I were very pleased with the food. The service was great too. We were seated as soon as we came in and the server made sure that we were well taken care of. We ordered many different dishes so that we could share off of each other and the entrees were quite big. Shalimar is more of a traditional Pakistani restaurant and that is what makes it more appealing. We ordered: nihari, chicken kabob, goat biryani, and daal masala, we were pleased with all the dishes. The aunty ( who I think might be the owners wife), adjusted the spices the way we wanted. Posted on October 4, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ This is my first bad review of any restaurants. Worst ever. Drainage smells welcomed you, when complained the owner said it is the clay oven. ( makes you wonder ). Food was taste less and small quantity. Do not waste your time. Posted on August 30, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ I was in vegas for 5 days for a conference, and was looking for Halal places to eat. This place seems to have good reviews ( I wonder why??) therefore i decided to give it a try. The food was pathetic, I would say below average. There were too many small bones in mutton curry, so small pieces of bones, that i took them in mouth and eventually it hurt my mouth. Happened 3 times. Naan were very hard, difficult to eat. tandoori shrimps were also not good, cold and tasteless ( i wonder how they marinated them, as claimed on the menu). The only thing I liked was mango lassi, but even that was not served in a disposable glass. It was a cheap plastic glass. The cost for 2 dishes with 2 naans turned out to be $37, too expensive. On top of all this the owner was not accepting my AMEX card saying that it would cost him additional $2. I asked him to include that as part of the bill, and after all this he had the courage to ask for a tip.. Greedy, I would say. Stay away from this place. There was another place on the strip where I eat during rest of my stay, and that was far more better & cheaper than this place ( I wont name it, because its against the site policy). ★☆☆☆☆ Just ate there this weekend hoping for at the least average food......but alas, the food was tasteless and very expensive. Service was horrible. The owner is the waiter, cashier, food preparer adn not a restauranteer by no means. I didnt mind the casual setup, but the food lacked flavor and for someone who knows food, I knew the flavor was way off. No courtesy, professionalism and the service is poor. NO water offered, and when ordered it is sold to you. Entrees do not come with bread or naan and need to be purchased seperate. Biryani did not come with the raita (needed to be purchased). If you dont call them (and theyre nowhere to be found) you'll be waiting forever. It seems like a fly by night operation. No offense, but those who commented that the food wwas excellent, have yet to experience authentic indo-pak food. THe quality of the meal , aside from the flavor, was not worth the money. 2 pieces of chicken per entree, not even good cuts, $11+. a rip off. I will recommend the other indian restaurants in vgas over them although I cannot verify if theyre halal. However the other places offer great tasting veggie dishes at palatbale prices. ★☆☆☆☆ the owner was trying to choose our lunch for us
price is too expensive and the place is like a ghetto and there is no A/C because the owner disconnected it permanently .
we ordered goat beryani and it was bone beryani ((the owner refused to change the orders)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Don't go there
((some one will rate the restaurant like a paradise after me be careful)) Posted on June 5, 2013 |

★★★★★ The owner was extremely warm and friendly. The menu is comprehensive, authentic, and well priced, and the meals themselves were great. We order Nihari, Chicken Tikka Masla, Goat Biryani and Garlic Naans they are the most delicious food I've ever tasted. The other reviews on here are accurate I'm gald we found this place. I would definitely recommend this to my friends. Go for it! Posted on December 31, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ The food was acceptable but I think it's overrated. The service is NOT good at all. They brought the food late and cold. It took forever to get the drinks and the appetizers. I saw a worker stealing a phone but people saw him and he said he just wanna clean the table. I didn't feel comfortable. Posted on December 30, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ One of the rudest owners, very poor customer service. Try and avoid, will not be eating here again. Food does not have the Bay area Shalimar quality at all. He even charges for water. Posted on March 26, 2012 |

★★★★★ A good punjabi desi food I had the nihari and chicken seekh kabab both delicious spicy
If you miss lahori food a good place to visit
Lassi was good and helped neutralize the spices Posted on December 14, 2011 |

★★★★★ My wife and I have eaten at almost every Desi restaurant in Las Vegas (We are locals) and many Desi restaurants across the USA and nothing compares to Shalimar.
The food is cooked by the owner/operators and is nothing short of amazing!
Some items sell out early or aren't available somes days, but don't worry try something else on the menu because you truly can't go wrong at Shalimar.
The service is refreshing, being treated more like family guests than customers.
On the corner of Flamingo and Decatur, which is pretty close to the Palms Hotel and Casino and west of the strip it should be easy to get to for Vegas visitors , but please don't take my table!
Thank you Shalimar! We are your biggest fans! :) Posted on October 20, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ The service was terrible the manager or the order taker is also the cook so he disappears after taking the order. Basic amenities like is water was never offered or provided. Many dishes were not available even after being on the menu for example Karachi chicken and Nihari . No proper bill is provided either. This place is a disaster when it comes to customer service. The food is average at best. Posted on July 10, 2011 |

★★★★★ We have recently visited Shalimar (7/3/2011).I found the name thru Google. We found out that there were 2 shalimars, one is Pak and other one is Indian. But Indian one has been closed. We were specifically looking for PAK food and we really found it the same. The food and atmosphere was really good except music (just kidding).Owners were nice and friendly. Both thumbs up :)) Posted on July 6, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ Food is okay. Service is slow and unfriendly. Found the menu a bit on the pricey side. Posted on June 29, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Excellent food but pricy . Also have a prayer area . Posted on April 3, 2011 |

|
★★★★★ These people are not closing coz i just recently found out that they will be closing only on mondays!!! The food is delicious and they have been getting good responses from customers so it's just pointless to close.... There's a note on the front door that they says " we're only gonna be closing mondays". It's always the right thing to call them before making any assumptions. I got curious too thats why i talked to the owner and they said they are not closing this place instead they'll make it even bigger.... Posted on March 15, 2011 |

NR We are in Las Vegas last week & try to Dine in in your Restaurant but we found your Restaurant is closed starting 03-07-2011. Would you please put that on your web-site in future in case to notify all the customers who try to dine in or take out.
THANK YOU, SEE YOU NEXT TIME. Posted on March 13, 2011 |

★★★★★ Great service to start of with. Food was also above excelent. Above and beyond what we were looking for.

★★★★★ Great food!! This is coming from someone who lives in Dallas with so many choices for good Desi food, so that should speak for itself. We ate there the entire time we were in Vegas. This is a family run establishment and the owners are very nice and courteous. I forgot my belongings in the restaurant and was pleased that the restaurant owners had kept them in a safe place for me. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Vegas. ★★★☆☆ They don't have brain masala and they charge even for tea too. We can't compare it to actual shalimar in Fremont, CA. But it worth. Posted on December 31, 2010 |

★★★★★ Very tasty food and fast service. Went with the kids and other family members and everyone enjoyed it. Beef kabobs are great, tandoori is good for the kids that can't handle spicy food, naans were perfect, tikka masala good, saag ghost excellent, and so on. Karahi Chicken and biryani can use a little polishing but all in all great food. Posted on December 21, 2010 |

★★★★★ Salaam Walekum to All,
Just had an amazing dinner last night at this Uncle Aunty joint, First time in Vegas and we were very skeptical about where to find good desi and most importantly Halal food. Not only we found this establishment halaal but the few people who were ruuning it were really hospitable and curteous most importantly the food was amazing and a very fair value for dollar, I wish we had a fridge in our room to pack some take out...
Definatly try the nihari, seekh kebabs, and channa daal was awsome....
Especially the Tea!!!!
as far as directions it isnt too far as long as you drive from the strip just not try to walk it from the main strip unless you are staying at Rio or Palms then its an walkable distance.. Posted on November 1, 2010 |

★★★★★ Totally awesome food. I've been to Vegas several times due to exhibitions with work. This is the place to eat halal food for a great price. It's off the strip. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk to it from MGM. Also, don't be surprised if you don't get a Resturant service. It's a family which is running it. It feels like eating at home :) Posted on August 26, 2010 |

★★★★★ We were so happy to finally find a halal place in Vegas that actually is worth five stars! The beef nehari Is delicious and tender I absolutely loved it. Posted on July 29, 2010 |

★★★★★ This looked like a family organization. The owners/managers were very friendly. We were the only customers in there in a weekday evening and got extra attention. There are no halal signs anywhere. The owners assured us multiple times that the food was fully halal. She said they had a halal sign before and the management made them remove it for some legal reasons. The food was good but a little spicy for our taste even though we clearly asked for mildly spicy and they said they took that into account. If you like spicy Indo-Pakistani food, this is probably the right place to check out. If you are not used to spicy food, make it very clear from the beginning. Nice clean environment, not a really special atmosphere. Posted on April 14, 2010 |

★★★★★ I was very impressed by the food, hospitality and kindness of the management of Shalimar Restaurant.
The food was excellent...I would recommend the Chicken Karahi and the Garlic Naan! YUM!!! The service was excellent as well. As I was visiting from out of town, the management even offered to drop me back to the hotel. They were also very kind enough to offer to take me to Friday prayers! It was a wonderful experience! If you are in town, this is a must stop, especially if you enjoy awesome Pakistani food! Posted on February 12, 2010 |

★★★★☆ For any of you Bay Area folks, here is the same Family Owned Restaurant!! The Food was great and reasonably priced! Location is ok. We ate there within the 1st week of opening so the decor still needs improvment, but Im sure within time they will pick up the business soon! Posted on December 30, 2009 |
