★☆☆☆☆ For me the food was really bland! Reading all the reviews I had high expectations... Posted on March 9, 2015 |

★★★★☆ Considering the on-campus food court'ish setting, the variety and quality were a v pleasant surprise. The setting may be fast food setting but it's def not fast food quality. Everything is clearly made to order and is wonderfully flavored. Attentive, courteous service. Posted on February 22, 2015 |

★★★★★ Excellent Afghani kabob place. Reminds me of Bakhter Kabob house in Queens NY. Reasonable prices, huge portions and can't beat the taste. Must try. All meat is halal and verified by the owner. Must try my friends. Posted on May 12, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Nice and friendly halal Afghan place right across from UCI campus. Food was good and portions generous. Place is a little bit cramped as the restaurant is located in the University Center shopping/dining area of UCI which caters mostly to UCI students. We were assured that the meat being served is zabihah.
Definitely check it out if you're in the Irvine or UCI area. Posted on June 13, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Pretty good, but not great, food. Typical persian/afghan style. The owner is friendly and he prays Jummah at UCI every week. Sometimes the owner cannot buy enough halal meat, but if he knows you're muslim he will tell you if anything is not halal that day (the owner seems trustworthy). That being said, this has only happened to us once, the other half-dozen times we went everything was halal. Posted on February 25, 2007 |
Thank you for the review. I wanted to inform you that we now have 100% halal meat in all our dishes. In the past, it is correct, we did not have halal meat with some dishes on some days, but now we definitely do have halal meat with every meat. I would appreciate it if you kindly took the section off about not having enough halal on some days only because I do not want to confuse my customers. Thank you. |

★★★★☆ The owner is a muslim brother from Afghanistan. There is no halal sign in the restaurant. I asked him whether his meat is halal and he said "most of the time" he brings halal meat and occasionally he can not buy halal meat. He said he is warning muslims when the meat is not halal. Well, if you trust him about warning you and you are obviously "muslim looking" to remind him to warn you, you can go and eat at this place. As a restaurant, it is a nice place. Looks clean from the outside and the dish was ok when I ate there (only once). Posted on December 18, 2005 |
Hello. I noticed this comment was written in 2005 and when we first opened the restaurant we had both halal and un-halal meat, but now, all of the meat is halal. I would appreciate it if you kindly took that part of the comment off because I would not want to confuse my customers now about not fully having halal meat. Thank you. |
