★☆☆☆☆ Since this website is for Muslims looking for halal food, my strong recommendation is to NOT come to this place. We arrived for iftar yesterday, and after breaking the fast, went to go find a spot to pray. Unfortunately, the owners came hurriedly - breaking our prayer- to tell us that this was not allowed in their establishment. As we came back to our table, the owner kept trying to justify it by saying this is America, not your home country. FYI I grew up in the US and have never experienced such behavior before. This is indeed the United States of America where the 1st amendment clearly states freedom of religion. Anyways, the staff continued to be extremely rude after this. They claim to serve halal food, but why choose to cater to Muslims when you won't even allow them to pray?Definitely never coming back, and I recommend plenty of other places in Pittsburgh to go to for the Muslim community. ★★★☆☆ the place is really nice ,especially downstairs authentic Turkish room -no food allowed there-, with the outdoor dining. price is as you would find at a Turkish restaurant, at the pricy side
i can say the owners are friendly, depending on the customer... once my friend asked a place to pray, she didnt help at all and wasn't nice in general, didnt even give receipt when asked, no sure why Posted on April 9, 2013 |

★★★★☆ This is a nice Turkish restaurant. The menu is partially halal based on Verbal Assurance from Staff. They verified that they purchase their Gyro, Beef Pepperoni, and Sucuk meat from Nema (a local Halal meat brand and distributor). The chicken is NOT Halal. Overall the quality of the food is very good and fresh and the owners are very nice. The prices are a bit high for the amount of food and sometimes it takes a little while for the food to come, but neither are unreasonable. The seating area is pleasant and they have a large downstairs area that you can reserve for large gatherings. Overall its a nice place to sit down and eat. Posted on May 30, 2011 |
